More children are being tested for lead poisoning in Flint, Michigan after it was discovered the water drawn from the Flint River is contaminated with lead.

This has people asking if Erie could face the same issues.

Erie’s water is drawn from Lake Erie. Two giant pipes, one five foot the other six foot in diameter are laid on the bottom of Lake Erie, about two miles from shore.

The different inErie,  that was not done in Flint, is an additive is added to the water before it’s sent to your house.

The food grade chemical protects the water from the pipes.
