Bear's story...

There’s only one thing worse than dating a friend’s sister—sleeping with his mother.

Fran DeLuca’s known for her bossy, overbearing personality almost as much as for her love of nylon tracksuits. But when someone runs off with fifty thousand dollars, she becomes involved in an ALFA investigation and catches the eye of silver fox biker, Bear.

Bear North, ALFA’s resident bad boy, has never thought of Fran as anything more than his buddy’s mom. When she trades in her elastic pants and orthopedic tennis shoes for a pair of skintight jeans and high heels, he takes notice of the fifty-something MILF.

When the money trail leads closer to Fran than expected, Bear takes charge of the investigation and will do anything to protect her. Can Bear track a thief, claim Fran, and keep Morgan DeLuca in the dark long enough to solve the case?

Sexy, entertaining, and suspenseful, Bear and Fran's story was chock-full of HEART and HEAT!

Bear has always intrigued me. I was surprised to see that Chelle was going to give us his HEA. I mean I was over the moon, but surprised nonetheless. He's what you consider a more mature hero in this romantic suspense. But believe me, that maturity comes with more gruffness and more sexiness than you can handle! And Fran...OMG! This woman. She is just incredible and such the PERFECT MATCH for our down and dirty biker. The banter between these two would be sweet one moment and incredibly HOT the next. And Morgan's (Fran's son) reaction to it all...FUCKING HILARIOUS! Overprotective son. Free spirit mother. Rough and tough biker. Tell me that is not the making of a GREAT romance!

In the end, I didn't know what to expect with Bear's story, but I can tell you what I got, and that was Bear FREAKING North, and all his badassery! Dirty talk, hilarity, and smokin' hot lovin', mixed with a dash of suspense that will keep you on your toes, all of that and more made for a captivating romance! As long as Chelle Bliss keeps writing, I'll be one of the first in line to dive right in!

I should have stopped reading at the beginning of the book, but the plot was interesting to me. I did skim parts of this book. My biggest issue with this was that the hero was portrayed as this handsome and fit dude who had all the stamina in the world, but the heroine was written like she was a granny. They are both older. He turned 52 in the book, but I’m not sure how old she was. I think she was 50.

The male was really really experienced (manho). But of course the female didn’t have as much experience even though she was pushing 50. I was going to rate it a 3 starts because the hero was actually really sweet and I liked their chemistry.

But of course this was ruined in the last chapter of the book. It is revealed that when he had his bachelor party, he went to a strip club and a stripper put bite marks on his chest. He let some random girl mark him. He said his wife (heroine) was upset when he explained but she forgave him.

He also goes back to said strip club for his birthday and talks about how the stripper that came to him was the one that left “those pretty marks” on his chest. He also agrees to go to a private room with said stripper. The heroine was waiting for him there, but he did not know that.

HUH????! Was this necessary? Why did the author have to completely destroy this book....

Wicked Impulse is the 3rd book in the ALFA Private Investigations Series and features Bear & Fran.

For romance readers who crave getting their hands on a romance with a more mature couple, this is your book!

I wasn’t really sure what type of backstory Bear was going to have, but I think Chelle gave him a past that really fit and made him so lovable. And Fran... what a firecracker, well – once she loss the tracksuits ;)

The one thing that was surprising was the amount of humor this story had. Fran had a mouth on her, Bear dealing with hooking up with a friend’s mom... all of it was just fantastic. But I am now dying to get my hands on the next book, because, fuck. That was a brilliant set up.

I don't read about hero's who have been driven more times than an enterprise rent a car. They're gross and there's no way I'd let them touch me. This hero was an epic man-ho who even let a stripper bite him right before he got married. What kind of an idiot heroine forgives that crap? One I don't want to read about, that's for sure.

Before we start lemme warn you ... This review will be FILLED with cuss words. Ready?

Chelle Bliss wasn't kidding when she said this book is full of offensive language and hot HOT sex. The first chapter has 17 or 18 forms of the word "fuck." I counted a couple times and kept getting different answers (bleary-eyed, mind you) so let's go with Chelle Bliss gave 18 fucks in one chapter and it just got better from there.

Bear and Fran are like, my idols. I hope to God I have that kind of desire/passion/cardio ability when I'm over 50. It's impressive! To that if with their "I don't give a fuck" mentality, and I was sold. They are AWESOME. Fucking awesome.

The suspenseful subplot was super fun and added so much to both characters. They showed their intelligence, tenacity, tenderness, and loyalty. Pretty much everything you want from a book by Bliss. I loved how Fran rediscovered herself and really came into her own (insert dirty pun here). Bear is the silver fox we all want. He is who he is, he has regrets but makes no apologies for who he is today (with some really sweet exceptions that'll melt your heart).

Fucking get the fucking book. End. Of.

Wicked Impulse was the third book in the Alfa Private Investigations series by Chelle Bliss.

Murray “Bear” North has been present in both the Men of Ink series as well as the Alpha PI series. He’s been the sexy enforcer when needed and was always a total playboy, never committing to a woman more than once. He was a longtime widow with his beloved wife having died in childbirth and vowing never to get close to anyone again. He lived his life with many regrets, yet he found his home with the friends and family within Alpha PI.

Fran DeLuca was the feisty, hovering mother to Morgan (Sinful Intent, book one). She practically raised Morgan on her own with a dead beat husband. He’s been gone for years, Morgan’s now married and she’s ready to have some fun on her own.

Bliss took us through a journey of fun, exploration, forgiveness, reconciliation and a few other surprises. It was both emotional and humorous at times. True to the series, Bliss provided hot sexy scenes as well as a suspenseful plot to keep us intrigued. It was the perfect mix.

All in all, it was well written, entertaining and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed having 50ish characters for a change. It was refreshing. 5 star reviews are all about the timing, and apparently Wicked Impulse was perfectly timed for me. Additionally, Bliss introduced us to a new character with a slight teaser about what’s next for him. I’m totally looking forward it.

Wicked Impulse by Chelle Bliss
Bear & Fran
I BELIEVE I HAVE A NEW FAVE
5 Stars

So, this has become my favorite Chelle Bliss book for so many reasons. It's suspenseful, it's hilarious, and it's hot as hell! I was sucked back into the Alfa PI world almost immediately and I didn't come up for air till I uttered the words "the end." This is a story with more mature main characters so it was easy for me to relate to them.

Bear has always had my heart. My visual is a combination between Sam Elliot and Grizzly Adams. I know weird, but for me uber hot! He's been around the block and isn't afraid to let it show. He's pissed off more woman than you can count and he's not sorry. When he sees Fran as more than just his friends mom, oh boy... the shit's gonna hit the fan for sure!

Fran cracks me right the hell up. She's a 50 something MILF but doesn't know it just yet. Leave it to Maria to take her shopping and ditch the Blair wardrobe for good. Her heart is pure, but her bod is made for sin. She's been "the mom" for too long. Something has got to give. It's refreshing and comical to see her finally let loose.

The supporting character cast is pretty big. Imagine all the hotties in one place at one time.. well you can do that multiple times in this story. You get your fill at the office and at the Neon Cowboy! Maria is by far my favorite supporting character! Who knew she could swear like a champ!

I wouldn't say that this story is dark or tragic. It actually leans more towards a suspenseful romantic comedy if that's even a thing! The story line itself is exciting and thrilling, but still manages to crack you up when you least expect it. The characters are dominant and down-to-earth and they keep you captivated though out the tale. The dialogue flows nicely and tension leading up to the climax was perfect. I fell in love with Bear and Fran's story instantly.

There are some series that are my forever favorites, interwoven books that hold me tightly in their clutches with characters I could read about endlessly. Chelle Bliss’ enthralling ALFA Private Investigations and her Men of Ink series are ones I could devour for an eternity. All-consuming. Alluring. Achingly addictive. Wicked Impulse, the latest Chelle Bliss bookgasm, is a sweet, sexy, and suspenseful story that seduces from head to toe.

Ever since I wrapped up the great Gallos with Without Me, there was a pang of longing that refused to leave. An endless hangover. A wish for the story to go on as it definitely could not be over. I wanted…no needed…more of this family that is my family.

Oh was it a thrill and terrific feeling to be thrust back into the world of great Gallos, family and friends who feel so close that they are my family and friends too. One of the most raw and real stories and series I’ve ever read, Wicked Impulse instantly transported me into these characters’ lives, implanting me so deeply that I could not help but experience and feel everything they did.

Ever since he appeared as City’s best friend in the Men of Inked series, I’ve always wanted Bear’s story. I had to know what made this hardened alpha tick. Bear North is the older, handsome, grizzly, gruff, buff, and badass biker who loyal to those he loves for life. Nearly everyone around him found love, which he lost decades ago and has never found since.

“People in love surrounded me, and it gutted me—knowing I missed that in my life.”

Bear has always thought of Morgan’s mother, Fran DeLuca, as a friend, a friend who was off-limits since her son, Morgan, is Bear’s friend and co-worker. I wanted to wrap Bear in a big bear hug and take away his pain.

“She was an enigma to me…Franny was related to everyone at the table and so far off-limits.”

Oh did I love Fran just like I did in the first book of this series! She is beautiful, bold, smart, sassy, and funny! Fran has always had an instant attraction to the super sexy and brooding Bear, engaging in some flirtatious fun, but nothing further. Burned by the past, no man has interested her...until now.

Sick of her dry spell with men and her grandma look, Fran decides to implement a much-needed makeover to remove the Golden Girl look of frumpy tracksuits and replace it with a goddess look of slim-fitting clothes that hug her hour-glass figure.

“It was written all over his face. His attraction. His need. The want he felt for me was almost electric. Why hadn’t I seen it before?”

Suddenly, Fran is no longer Morgan’s mama and friend but a hot catch…and Bear would like a bite of the forbidden fruit. When a case lands in Bear’s lap involving Fran, the chemistry between them ignites to an inferno, powerless to extinguish and one where someone may get burned.

“She was a real woman who made me feel something for the first time in as long as I could remember.”

Chemistry combusts with fireworks of feels forming between Fran and Bear where it’s more than just a physical attraction. The passion poured off the pages, the pent-up tension a dam ready to burst. The steel walls, formed by painful pasts, around Fran and Bears’ hearts are crumbling, and are ready to break. Will Fran and Bear take a risk on love, even if forbidden by their family?

“If I weren’t already going to hell, Bear would make sure to get me a one-way ticket.”

Wicked Impulse is a magical mix of heart, heat, and humor. I was spellbound from the start as this story stole me away where I never wanted to surface for air. Oh did I FALL HARD for this story of love against the odds. The off-the-charts chemistry, the passion, the promise of more, the dirty-talking, the sweetness, the sass, and heart and soul... Wicked Impulse was my WICKED PLEASURE!

This dirty-talking silver fox…this biker with a beautiful heart…stole my heart! Oh did I LOVE MY BEAR!!! Being reunited with the great Gallos feels like coming home to friends, family, and everything familiar. Chelle Bliss is a master maker of all-alpha heroes, ones you can’t help but adore and ache for in every way.

The depth and devotion of this great Gallo family is like no other. Their bond is incredible and their banter—sometimes bold, often playful, and always loving—could be that of so many tight families. I fell in love all over again and can’t love this family enough. I know them so well. They are real, right?!?

Raw and riveting, this roller coaster of a romance is a thrilling ride from beginning to end! Wicked Impulse is WICKED GOOD! Chelle Bliss has created magic in this mesmerizing and meaningful Men of Inked and its sister series, ALFA Private Investigations, which melts hearts and elicits emotions in the best way. Wicked Impulse by Chelle Bliss was my BOOK BLISS! I want to bask in this Wicked Impulse book bliss a little longer.

DAMN!! Bear and Fran proved that age is just a number. They could give the younger peeps a run for their money. They were fricking smokin hot!!!

Bear lost his only love years ago and spends his days working at ALFA PI and nights with random women. He has a past and a reputation that follows him, so when he volunteers to help their current investigation by questioning Morgan's mother, Fran... Morgan is none too happy. He doesn't want the man anywhere near his mom and warns him at every turn. Though Bear assures him that all will be on the up and up, he can't get rid of the fact that deep down, he's always been curious what Fran hid beneath her daily tracksuits.

Bear and Fran showed me that at their age, they could go at it just as much and as fiercely as the young couples I read about. Bear had serious stamina and beneath the grandma style Fran hid behind, she was a sex kitten with an insatiable drive that Bear was all to willing to assist her with.

They were adorable for a mature couple and just as sexy as any other Hero and heroine I've come across. Their story was a great addition to the ALFA PI series and I look forward to so much more. Especially the way it left off.

Paige's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I was definitely intrigued by the description of the book. I'm sure "Don't date your friends mom" is bro code number 1 but Bear could have cared less when it came to dating Fran.

The author does a great job telling the story of two mature adults, who connect on more than just a physical level. They both need the other to break them from the past and into their new beginning.

Bear didn't have it easy. He was running from his past and lived with regrets. My urge to smack him was as great as my urge to hug him. He was trying to be a better man but needed a push to get there.

I found Fran to be stuck in a rut. She spent so much time caring for her son and his relationships that she didn't focus on herself. I'm glad Maria was there to help her break out and show the world who she is and what she made of.

The main storyline that brought them together held enough drama to keep the reader interested. It wasn't filled with extra angst or silly misunderstanding. The secondary plot points held the emotional connection that I was hoping for. Along with sad tears there were also happy tears cried while reading their tale.

I'm hoping this isn't the last time we see Bear and Fran. This is a couple I want to read more about.

ARC provided with no expectations.

There are books on GR and I just don’t get the high rating. This is one of those books.

The plot was all over the place. The heroine is written as if she’s in her 70s. She should have a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Why is everyone so afraid of her son? He seems like an idiot.

Unfortunately I know people like this IRL, and there’s no way they could run a successful investigation firm. Not with that many people. Seriously, they’re bikers or hackers on laptops? And none of them saw the thief for what he was? Lame. But it’s not really explained.

And track suit granny was screwing him? Sort of. With her boobs at her elbows. But her ass is perky. Who says “go steady” anymore who isn’t retired? Speaking of, she lives in a retirement community.

“My mind was still stuck back in the seventies where there were rules and proper etiquette.”

If the book was set in 2016, she would’ve been in elementary school in the 70s.

Her friend is Mar and her neighbor is Mer. And the hero is Murray. Lack of creativity right there.

“Her tiny mouth, one so small I wondered if she was ever able to suck a dick, pursed.”

Charming. See? Only missing the cigarette. She also throws clothes on the dressing room floor. Nasty.

“My feet started to move on their own, breaking out in a cross between a happy dance and the running man—but more of a senior version.”

She’s only 50. Hardly a senior.

The hero is blah. His wife - old lady, eyeroll - died in childbirth and he’s still not moved on thirty years later. Except he is a man whore. So obviously it’s just an excuse. The heroine’s brilliant advice?

“Just don’t wait too long.”

Like 30 years?

They go out to dinner and he’s adjusting himself like he has crabs.

Maybe this is great storytelling for some people. Not for me. I didn’t think she was appealing or even really consistent. And he was neither sweet nor cute.

But everyone has to bang something sometime.

Especially like the last part where he essentially cheats on her. Ugh.

It’s been too long since I read a book by this author so I was super happy to get back into her books with this gem of a read.

Bear and Fran. What an awesome couple. I was so happy to hear that Bear was getting his own story and I wasn’t disappointed.

This is a really well told story. A mixture of suspense, laugh out loud moments and some really hot sexy scenes had me loving this story from start to finish.

I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

There's only one thing worse than dating a friend's sister--sleeping with his mother.

Fran DeLuca's known for her bossy, overbearing personality almost as much as for her love of nylon tracksuits. But when someone runs off with fifty thousand dollars, she becomes involved in an ALFA investigation and catches the eye of silver fox biker, Bear.

Bear North, ALFA's resident bad boy, has never thought of Fran as anything more than his buddy s mom.

I have been waiting for this book, OH MY BOB have I wanted me some Bear! I never really knew what to expect when it came to Bear. He has has a presence in the Men Of Inked books and was spotted in the other ALFA books, but to get my own Bear book, is just... awesome!

First lets talk Fran shall we? I pictured her exactly how Ms. Bliss described her " a track suit, orthopedic shoe wearing 50+ woman." Think, Betty White's
Rose Nylund from the Golden Girls... I know she may be too old, but that is where my brain went. I got the biggest kick out of her! Fran had me rolling and just so shocked at the things that would come out of her mouth. The banter between Maria and Fran had me crying! I just LOVE that relationship. When Fran decides to act her age and not like an OLD women. She ditched the track suits for some tight jeans and some high heels, how was Bear not suppose to notice?

Bear, just yes... He is such a fun dude to read about. I laughed out loud so much . At one point I had to stop and compose myself. I was laughing to the point of tears.

"Pressing my front to her back, I placed my mouth close to he ear.
"Who's your daddy?'
"Tom," Fran said with a bit of a chuckle."

" I growled. " Do you want me?"
"Yes," she said in the airy , wanton tone.
"Bend over and touch your toes."
Her eyebrows drew together.
"Do you know how old I am ? Fuck me, Bear. I haven't been able to touch my toes for twenty years."
"Fran," I said, trying to hold my laughter. I hadn't even thought about her age as a factor in the scene that I had playing out in my mind.
"Bend over and hold the door handle."
"That I can do." Gripping the door handle tightly, she bent at the waist, pushing her ass against my body."

It was passages like those, that had me just falling for this couple. They had this chemistry that was undeniable and quickly became one of my most favorite couples ever!
Bear constantly had to defend his actions to Morgan. I thought it was such a beautiful moment when Morgan finally realized that Bear was crazy in love with his mom and that Bear would lay down his life for her. Bear had the love of his life once and was okay with spending his remaining days alone, without love. He never expected it to be Fran to complete him and heal his heart as well as his family.

I’ve always found Bear an interesting character. One who has his friends’ backs at all cost but still conceals parts of himself from them, never allowing his brothers to see the pain hidden beneath Bear’s bravado and jokes…the agony that’s lasted three decades since he lost his wife, abandoned his kids, and maneuvered down a path of self-destruction of his own.

The fact that Bear’s a manwhore hasn’t gone unnoticed by his fellow private investigators, which makes the fact that Fran DeLuca, Morgan’s mother, seems to be the one woman who can bring love back into Bear’s life and calm his messed up existence, freeing him from his past and allowing him a way to make amends.

Since meeting Fran in Sinful Intent, I’ve seen her as the hilarious, inappropriate, and a bit nagging mother of Morgan DeLuca and aunt to the Gallo clan. She and her sister-in-law, Maria, love to meddle as well as be a bit too forward in what they choose to share and how they choose to deliver their lessons. But in Wicked Impulse, readers are introduced to a more womanly version of Fran – one who no longer wears track suits as an attempt to keep men away from her…who proves to be quite adventurous in the bedroom with the right partner…who interferes in the lives of the people she loves most in order to give them a chance at a life of love and happiness. All that Fran is, is brought out further by Bear, and together, they heal one another’s past wounds and allow themselves to move forward, knowing that Bear’s impulse to pursue the woman who was supposed to be off-limits has brought them everything they could want and then some.

Bear and Fran’s story is about second chances, redemption, and brotherhood. It’s about taking chances, making changes, and proving that the choices one makes can transform their lives in glorious ways, especially when it’s wrapped in crazy, adventurous, foul mouthed awesomeness.

My Review:

My needed checklist for this book included a well-written, fun, and amusing storyline with naughty humor, a sweet and sexy romance between chronologically mature characters, and an interesting case for the PI agency to solve. Checklist complete! I adored these unique and quirky characters! Fran and Bear had me smirking and fanning myself as I read this sizzling tale. They may have been over fifty but they went at it like horny teenagers. I reveled in how their blossoming romance transformed them both. Written from a dual POV and heaving with expletives, this foul-mouthed group bantered wittily, teased like teens, and could not speak without liberal use of profanity. And I enjoyed every mischievous sentence. Loves me some Chelle Bliss!

Oh My! What an adventure we have with Bear. The sexy silverfox of the ALFA team finally gets his story told and man is it hot!

Murray "Bear" North doesn't have the cleanest slate behind him. Back in the day he was known as the troublemaker and not so great guy. After his wife died during childbirth, he lost all hope of ever loving again. Leaving his two small children with his sisters, he lead a life of crime and even did some time in jail.

That was then. Now he is turning a new leaf as part of the ALFA PI group and when he meets Fran DeLuca, he thinks he may just be ready for love again too. The only problem is that Fran is his friend Morgan's mom and she seems to find herself in the middle of situation causing the men to go off on a pissing match on who can protect her the best. Morgan knows Bears past and doesn't think he's good enough for his mom. But Bear is out to prove him wrong.

This book was funny, sexy and full of suspense. Chelle can write hot, steam, filthy mouth Alpha men like no other. And Bear does not disappoint. Love this book and this series! Plus there is a bonus mini Christmas Novella with our favorite family in the back of the book. Win Win!

Once again Chelle Bliss has delivered with the men of ALPHA PI!!!!

I have to admit I was a little nervous with this one. Not about Bear, because come on he's Bear and he's sexy as sh*t!!! No, I was more worried about Fran. But Chelle Bliss has done a good job keeping this sexy lady under wraps until now and this match-up really worked!!! Turns out, Fran has a lot going on under those track suits she's so fond of, and she's just as much of a firecracker with Bear as she is with her family. And Bear and Fran together, off the charts people!!! And there are some really fantastic twists in this book that everyone is going to love!!!! This was a great addition to the ALPHA PI series!!!!

Wicked Impulse by Chelle Bliss
Older couple Contemporary Romance. Standalone, 3rd in a series of related standalones.
Since I like to read books in order, I fell so behind on the Men of Inked Series by Chelle Bliss that I never read anything after because I always intended on catching up. But being someone who is about to stare 50 right in the face, I really enjoy novels with older couples. Chelle assured me Wicked Impulse  stood alone, so I listened to the audiobook.

I have hair that is half purple down to my waist and I act like a child myself. My husband is 8 years older than me, but we still don’t think of ourselves as “old”. We have an 11 year old, maybe that’s why, but even my sisters, who are in their mid-fifties with grown kids are totally cool and not “old” at all. So I will say that Fran, especially at first, seemed way too old for her age, especially making a few “senior” jokes. If anyone called me a fucking senior I’d kick their asses.

The narration didn’t help. The female narrator would be AMAZING in a full-on comedy, but I had a little trouble thinking of her as basically someone my age. She just seemed totally like an older Italian from the Bronx, yet she was from Florida. Think of the Nanny, Marge Simpson and Linda (the mom from Bob’s Burgers) mixed and you have Fran DeLuca. She is funny as hell, but maybe a little over the top. She actually sounded a bit like my Italian Mother-in-Law from the Bronx.

But she was a hell of a lot of fun to listen to. I think if I read it rather than listened, I would have found it sexier, but for me it was more fun because of the narration.

Bear works at Alfa Pi Security and he is a total manwhore. He has two grown kids who he loves, but only from afar. He basically gave them up when they were young because he was in a bad place, which was no place for kids. One of his best friends is his co-worker, Morgan whose mom, Fran, has just been robbed of $50,000 from a guy she was dating. The boys at Alfa Pi are investigating and trying to track the thief down.

Fran wears track suits all the time and doesn’t really care about her appearance, but when she starts working with Bear, she decides it’s time for a change and goes out shopping with her friends.
“We have to get you a new bra.”
“Why?”…
“Your boobs shouldn’t be near your elbows.”

When Fran and Bear saw each other again with Fran's hot new look, it was clear. There was no way Bear could hide his need for her.
"It was written all over his face. His attraction. His need. The want he felt for me was almost electric. Why hadn’t I seen it before?”

Bear is a badass biker who has had a shit life, the love of his life died, he is estranged from his kids, and has no real connections outside work. He’s never been in a relationship that anyone can remember, so it’s no wonder Morgan warns him away from his mother.
“He was my buddy and coworker, but Fran…She was a real woman who made me feel something for the first time in as long as I could remember.”

They were actually pretty hot together, but the semi-comedic narration stopped me from really feeling a lot of that heat. When I re-read some of the scenes in the print version when I was pulling quotes, I found them a lot hotter. Even so, I loved the couple together. I love that they have hot sex in their fifties and Bear is a total dirty talker.  But they needed to keep the relationship a secret for a while.
"There’s only one thing worse than dating a friend’s sister—sleeping with his mother."

Fran was tough. She didn’t put up with ANY shit and had no problems expressing that.
"I don’t know who you think you’re snapping those meat sticks at, buddy, but it sure as fuck isn’t me… You don’t want to come in? Fine. I’ll meet you halfway, but you ever snap your fingers at me like I’m an animal again, and I’ll break them in your sleep."

I honestly totally loved Fran. She meddled with no apologies and was a great mom, but was also tough and never a weak pushover. Bear was just a completely sexy alpha, and I loved how much he appreciated all of Fran’s qualities. They were great together, and the book had me smiling the entire time.

Likes:

•I love a book with older couples!
•Even though they are in their fifties they're totally hot.
•Fran was funny as hell and tough as nails.
•Fran was a great mom even though she totally meddled (Italian moms, it's what they are made for).
•Even though I hadn't read the prior books, I didn't feel lost.
•The narration was great for comedy, Fran was totally funny. I loved the male narrator who was completely sexy.

Dislikes:

•I was torn on the female narrator. While I thought she was funny, her strong older Italian/New York vibe overpowered the story sometimes.
•Her narration stopped the sexy scenes from being sexy.
•Fran seemed way older than early fifties, but I admit, I know one or two women my age that just seem way older.
•Not a fan of the way it ended.

The Down & Dirty:
I am torn on Wicked Impulse. I love the story, but where I'm torn is whether the audio made it better or worse. I think it made the story a comedy, where if I read on kindle I think I would have found it a much sexier read with some funny moments. Fran seemed a bit older than the age she's supposed to be, because she seemed old to me even though I'm about the same age. But I love Chelle for writing an older couple as still very sexual and HOT and including it in a series for all ages. It's funny, the story that first made me fall for Chelle's writing was The Gallos which is no longer on Kindle, but it was about the parents of the characters in Men of Inked who were married a long time, older, and still cool and sexy.

All in all I totally recommend Wicked Impulse. If you are looking for more of a comedy with a unique and fun narrator, get the audible. If you are looking for a hot read with an older couple, get the print version. Either way, it's a great story, and I'm ready for more, because this doesn't quite stand completely alone, you will want the next.

Rating: 4.25 Stars, 4.25 Heat, 4 Narration

Fran DeLuca I want to be you! Wicked Impulse was Witty and Sexy. Fran and Bear were perfect together. I love the way their relationship was real and funny "Bend over and touch your toes." Her eyebrows drew together . Do you know how old I am? F*@! me, Bear. I haven't been able to touch my toes for twenty years. I couldn't get enough of these two.
I love the family dynamics and the friendship between the characters.
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to get more from ALFA PI.

This book wasn't my favorite. Bear never really spoke to me. I tried.. I figured he was a good guy underneath it all. He had a troubled past and no one would give him credit where credit was due. I understood Morgan's attitude and I'm glad it cleared up quickly because he was aggravating. I liked the "older" spin on the couple and seeing things from their perspective but it wasn't my favorite.
I am glad Fran changed the way she dressed because I was literally picturing The Golden Girls and she wasn't THAT old. I just didn't feel the chemistry between them but it was totally on me. The book was well written and gave us action. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Bear, oh Bear, we’ve been teased, we’ve been taunted and now finally we have our very own special Bear time, as long as you don’t mind sharing him with Fran that is.

Right from the start of this book, it’s clear that Bear is going to leave a lasting memory on us poor unsuspecting readers. Just what is it that makes strong men who become broken by circumstance so loveable? Bear has lost the love of a good woman once but is he strong enough to trust his heart to another, in this case, Fran?

Fran DeLuca and Maria Gallo, Fran’s sister-in-law, have to be the most loveable duo in the world when it comes to special characters. They live life to the fullest and just don’t give a damn. Society has no place for them when dictating acceptable standards. They love hard, they play hard and they torment their families even harder. Maria, we’ve gotten to know and love throughout the Men of Inked series but Fran gets to show readers what she is made of and when it comes to Bear, it’s strong stuff. He may be a big, strong and possibly a little intimidating but Fran is more than capable of bringing Bear to his knees.

She was a sex kitten with the mouth of a truck driver.

Bear’s story is a sad one. He’s lost one woman that he loved and he has guarded his heart ever since but Fran sees the fragility of his soul and sets about reuniting him with his long lost family. With two grown up children that he hasn’t seen since they were babies, Fran knows that her plotting and scheming could backfire on her but she knows, deep down, that Bear is a man with a heart that is aching to reconnect with his children.

They all saw the wild, careless me but not the real man underneath.

Aside from the emotional storyline, we get treated to Bear and Fran’s own version of sexy-times and let me tell you, 20 somethings have nothing on the explosiveness we witness from this duo. Bear is a beast in and out of the bedroom and Fran is more than a match for his exploits. Bear may have resisted Morgan’s mother, initially, out of a sense of loyalty to his colleague and friend, but when Fran turns on the charm offensive, poor Bear is done for.

I might be an asshole, but I had morals. Didn’t I?

We also get to spend some time with the old gang of ALFA PI, as expected in this story, although the main investigating this time affects Morgan and Bear as they head off in search of money missing from Race’s track. However, when Ret, Bear’s son comes into the picture, this story, although with its own HEA, also has a cliffie which will leave readers clamouring for the next part to this storyline.

This is yet another beautifully written book by Chelle Bliss. Whilst I loved the Bear and Fran connection, and their own special story, I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the multiple characters from this series and also the Men of Inked series who also pop up in this book. By the end of reading this book, I did find that I’d spent more time thinking back and trawling through my memories for the snippets saved there about the characters that I’d read and loved before. I really don’t know how authors manage to stay on top of their fictional characters but it’s definitely kudos to Chelle Bliss for handling so many with ease.

SYNOPSIS:

MY THOUGHTS:
What a great story! This is not your typical 20’s something love story, it involves people in their 50’s. Before you say EWW, let me tell you they were HOT! Bear is a silver fox and he is one sexy beast with a heart of gold. Fran, there is not enough words to describe Fran. She is a helicopter mom to a 30 something son, but she is a feisty, foul mouthed, extremely sexy and funnier then hell woman. The chemistry between Bear and Fran is off the grid!

The book is told in dual point of view and it is fast paced. There are suspenseful twists and I was taken on quite a ride as the men from ALFA PI investigate. Great twists and turns! A lot of laugh out loud moments as only the Gallo clan can provide with their in your face attitude and fun loving banter. She and her sister in law Maria were quite a crazy duo! The secondary characters are a great supporting cast and add to the richness of the story. You could read this as a standalone, but it would be so much better to read the Men of Inked series to see the workings of the Gallo family, and books one and two of ALFA PI. It is such a great family story with terrific characters. But, you certainly can experience the fun without them.

I loved this book and I look forward to the next book in the series. I wonder who it will be!

First off, bravo to Chelle Bliss for writing a romance between two older adults! Bliss’ is breaking through the traditional romance barrier of young or early 30’s love with a hot AF couple in your fifties. Whoever said we get better with definitely was talking about Bear and Fran. Bear is my swearing spirit animal and is many variations of the f-bomb made me laugh so many times because well, it’s my favorite word! Let’s just say that Bear may be my new one step in the grave man crush. He can rob my cradle any time! Fran isn’t your typical early fifties housewife and she’s far from the point of being shelved to just garner dust. She’s sassy, bossy, and just what Bear needs in his life after his personal tragedies.

The chemistry and the sex between these characters is off the charts hot and will leave you seeking relief from your B.O.B. or your significant other. I loved the added pieces with the Gallo family and their extended relations. Seeing a bit of Fran and the matriarch of the Gallos brood explained just how these men and women got their sexy sass. The one downside to this story for me was I felt it didn’t have enough angst between Morgan and Bear. Not enough angst? Bet you haven’t seen that before in a review! Don’t get me wrong, there are pieces of it there, but I was expecting a lot more from him when it came to Bear rogering his Mom. I was hoping for a foul language laced brawl between them because I wanted to watch with my popcorn and hope for a wardrobe malfunction, but alas, the popcorn was all I needed.

Wicked Impluse is a wickedly good read with plenty of dirty romance and family squabbling to make this a top five on your TBR. The only thing that remains is to send Chelle Bliss my address so that Bear can just head my way LOL. I know… he’s fictional, but a girl can dream!

Ok so let's talk about Bear ..... the man I have been waiting for since I started the Men of Inked series. Yes, I have loved the other buys, but Bear has been waiting patiently to come in, prove he is the quiet one you need to watch out for, and melt everyone with his story.

Bear has had anything but an easy life, and as a result, has made some decisions he isn't proud of. However he won't make excuses for his behavior either. Yes he was a manwhore, but that is because he hadn't found anyone he wanted to spend time with. Little did we know, he actually had a reason for being alone until now. Yes his story did break my heart.

Fran is the woman that will change everything. She is the mother of one of the guys he works with, however, she has been alone after her husband left when their son graduated high school. However she isn't sad to see him go (considering how he treated her I am shocked he was able to walk away and not handled by her family).

These two people have been alone for long enough that they forgot what it is like to be in a relationship. However, little did they know, everything is going to change with one shopping trip. Who would have thought some new clothes would change everything in their worlds. Well that and an investigation to find the schmuck who stole from the track.

Grab this book and meet the man I have been waiting all this time to come forward. We finally get to see Bear and really find out more about him, his past, and why he is the way he is.

*ARC*

I have wanted Bear’s story now for YEARS! We first met him in City’s book (Throttle Me) and I just was intrigued and wanted to know about this bear of a guy. I never expected what we got, it reminded me that there is always more to someone than what you first see or see on the surface. Now Bear, oh he is a dirty dirty man and I loved him even more when you got to know the other side of him. Fran, oh lord Fran I knew she would be a spitfire and handful and I was so very right! If you are unaware who Fran is, she is Morgan’s mom. She is sassy, strong, feisty, strong willed and has a huge heart and doesn’t mind sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong because she does it out of love.

Wicked Impulse is grittier than other Chelle Bliss books, if you have any issues with swear, at all, ya might want to skip this one because there is a lot of cussing and while this book whore cusses a hell of a lot some people may have a problem with it. Wicked Impulse was also wickedly sexy and has the action and slight suspense we have come to know in this series. I really can’t wait to see what happens in the next book especially if it is about who I think it will be about.

WOW! This one is one you do NOT want to miss!! I knew I would love Bear(because who would love him with a name like that), but I didn't know I'd fall so hard for this #silverfox!

What I love about Chelle Bliss' books is that she has intertwined her Men Of Inked series with the ALFA series. This series is more suspense with the erotic/romance twist. I LOVE them!! I love being able to follow the Gallos along with the DeLucas & now the Norths.

Bear is an amazing character. He's big & rough until he's left to question & protect his buddy, Morgan's mom. Then all bets are off! Fran is hilarious!! My favorite parts were when Maria & Fran(who are sister in laws) get together & talk/gossip! They crack me up. I loved watching Morgan squirm & get uncomfortable when Bear & Fran were around. I loved how Bear boosted Fran's confidence & how Fran made amazing changes in Bear.

The kind gesture that Fran does to bring Bears past to life brought me to tears! I felt like I was there & I just wanted to hug everyone. This book has a little of everything! The twists were not mouth dropping & the awe moments were sweet. Ms. Bliss did an amazing job!

You know the way sometimes you just want to read a book about a more mature couple that you can relate to well wicked impulse is definitely that book.
Chelle out did her self with Bear and Fran seriously the banter swoon worthy moments and hot as hell scenes between the two of them are explosive and put the younger couples to shame.
Bear is one sexy silverfox alpha with a mouth that would make any woman swoon or even make them strip down and beg . I'd happily claim Bear to be my silverfox any day.
Fran is feisty strong minded and has a filthy mouth that gives every male from this series a run for there money. I want to be just like Fran when I get to her age she rocks.
Bear and Fran are my favourite couple to date.
If you haven't read anything from Chelle yet you really need to get one clicking. This a must read book.
This was an amazing 5star read.
