Restoration & Forgiveness

Rate this book
When I ran back home, I wasn’t prepared for the reminders of him everywhere I turned. I certainly never expected Keegan to follow. I thought I made myself clear - we were through. I didn’t want anything to do with him. But, he inserted himself back into my life, and there was nothing I could do.

I pushed he pulled.

I ran and he chased me.

I cried and he wiped away the tears.

He just wouldn’t give up, and the battle my head and my heart are waging, is one I don’t want to be a part of. You see my head says be strong, but my heart is saying I belong to him, and always will.

What does one do when her heart can easily forgive, yet her head refuses to.

Can Keegan, and I restore our fairy tale, or will our story be closed for good?

Review originally on Reading Addict

My review for this book will be very short, not that the book is very long actually, but I don't really have many things to say.

This book was and wasn't what I was expecting, because I hoped for a short, fast, easy and lovely read, that would grip me from the first page, that will blow my mind and then I will recommend it to everyone as my new favorite fluffy read. But I didn't enjoy it so much. Yes, it is fast, easy, fluffy and romantic, but it wasn't spectacular.

I enjoyed this book and if you look on goodreads it has very high ratings, but for me it wasn't amazing. Yes, I liked the story, the characters are cute, they relationship is nice, you want to read faster to know what is going to happen. But I felt like I couldn't connect with the characters, that they weren't fleshed out so much, the plot was maybe too easy? I mean I saw everything coming from miles away and I think that everyone saw it.

And also my biggest problem was and is - how she can forgive him so easily? Why? Now you are mad and you don't want to see him again and then when he comes after you, you yell a little, he gives you an explanation and bam... together again. Really? I'm sorry, but I can't take it, is not realistic. And if you'll tell me that fiction shouldn't be realistic then I have to unread a ton of books of my list... because they are too realistic. And this problem I had also with the fact that they meet again, in the first book, after eight years and they love each other so much?! I mean, why did you wait? And if you have read the first one then you know...

If not read it and then read this and we'll discuss. Maybe you'll love it more than me. Maybe you're more of a romantic than me. For me it was just an easy and ok read.

Well... it wasn't a short review.

I have been waiting to get my hands on this book since the dramatic cliffhanger in the first that left me absolutely reeling! And once again Mindy Carter does not disappoint! Although I found it to be a little bit slow in the beginning, I was thoroughly captivated with the characters and the plot to where I couldn't put it down for anything.

Once again I completely fell in love with Aimee and Keegan, although I did hate Keegan a little bit for what went down between him and Gretchen and keeping all his stupid secrets that could still cost him his fairy tale ending with Aimee. And for parts of the book, he was still letting the manipulative witch control his actions and his happiness.

I was very happy to see both characters grow throughout this amazing sequel. Aimee doesn't back down easily and she makes Keegan work very hard to salvage whatever relationship they might still be able to have. And I found Keegan to be very weak in the first book but I find his character to have grown immensely, although he still has room for growth.

Will Keegan's secrets and Gretchen's manipulative behaviors sever any chance of a HEA for Keegan and Aimee or will they be able to restore their relationship and forgive and move on?

The only reason why this book isn't getting 5 stars is because of the ending. I felt like it was rushed and the author could have had a couple more chapters to elaborate more on what happens. Other than that, Restoration and Forgiveness was amazing! I loved this series and cannot wait to see what else Mindy Carter has in store for us next, especially Reese and Kaleb's book!

4.0  I WANT MY OWN CASTLE STARS!!!

When I first met Keegan, I didn’t understand the importance of having a best friend. I learned early on that friends come and go, but a true best friend is one who will be there for you through it all. I thought he was it; even through the hurt, he was always my best friend, and honestly, no one could ever replace him. He didn’t fill my mother’s absence as a friend, but became someone entirely different. He became my other half, the piece of me that always fit when we were together. Falling in love with him was inevitable. We were just too perfect for one another, but now I’m not sure if fate is just a jealous bitch.

I was so heartbroken after I finished reading the first book thus I readily jumped on reading the next one in the series.Restoration and Forgiveness started off where Skyscrapers and Camelot left off. In this book, you'll get to understand better how everything happened. The story behind all the secrets and "lies". I get to understand Gretchen here but then again she's still a b*tch to me and I still want to stangle her and punch her!Above all, I love the flow of the story. Keegan's persistence to win back Aimee is just so sweet and oh so damn heart melting.

“Aimee, I’m never going to be done, and I’m going to prove it to you.”

The fun is still there...I just don't get to laugh with them but in all honesty I shed a tear or two. I just feel the emotion behind everything. That surprise!!!My God!!! I actually daydreamed of having one and reading this book bring back old memories. Ahh just so heartmeltingand so damn sweer. With an angst that was blended so well..it will always keep you on the edge and keeps turning the pages because you wanted to know more. I love also the incorporation of the bestfriend and the brother here too. I'm so glad that they were still included in this book. You'll get to cry with them..laugh with them..and fall in love with them. With such an awesomeness I can't wait to read the next book!

"Sometimes, the prince rescues the princess, but sometimes the princess needs to rescue the prince. When that happens, you know that there is no force that will tear you apart, not even a fire-breathing dragon. This is our happy ever after, finally. We’ve climbed mountains, and overcome the worst that could be thrown at us."

This is just the perfect ending to such a wonderful love story. Ahhhhh...a fairtytale both of them so wants!

Actual Rating: 4.5 Stars!!

“I know this isn’t easy, but I’m going to keep reminding you what you are to me, and who you have always been. You are my everything; no one could mean to me what you do. As long as we live I’ll remind you that loving you is as effortless for me as breathing.”

Ever since I finished Skyscrapers & Camelot, I have been dying to get my hands on this book. I had to see what would happen next for Aimee and Keegan. And I have to tell you, Mindy A. Carter does not disappoint!

Restoration & Forgiveness picks up right where the last book left off. Aimee returned home after finding out that her father was hospitalized. Even though she knew Keegan would show, she still didn’t want him there. He hurt her so badly, but this time Keegan was determined to not let Aimee get away. He had to own up to his mistakes and make Aimee see that the love that they had was real and worth fighting for.

From the moment, I picked up this book, I was quickly reminded just how much I loved these two characters. Their story immediately sucking me back in. I was totally lost in Aimee and Keegan’s story and finished it in just one short sitting. Aimee and Keegan’s story really tugged at my heart. Their journey to HEA, was not an easy one. It was one that was filled with a lot of hurt and angst. But, you couldn’t help but find yourself rooting for the two of them and hoping that they could move past all the hurt and pain. I loved how determined Keegan was and how he refused to give up on Aimee. You could tell that he really loved her and that he honestly made some dumb mistakes. And Aimee, I gotta tell you, this character had the biggest heart. She was a lot stronger than I gave her credit for and lets just say, she really blew me away by the end of this story.

Restoration & Forgiveness was such an enjoyable read. It is a great follow up to Skyscrapers & Camelot and the perfect second chance romance. There really is so much to love about this story; from the characters to the plot, to the angst and romance, to the heartbreaking moments and the oh so sweet swoon-worthy moments. This book had it all for me. Mindy A. Carter is a new and upcoming author and is definitely one to watch out for. I for one can not wait to see where she will take me next!

First awesome awesome awesome. so amazing. The writing is incredible. Keegan is just swoon swoon swoon. He made a mistake and pays for it everyday of his life and is still paying for it with Aimee but he is trying to show her she is his fairytale. His one and only the one he builds a castle for and gives her everything. He is willing to give up his career and world for her.

Aimee I have to say I agreed she should be mad at first but she went a wee bit to far with the riotous indignation of anger. He is showing her his love and doing everything imaginable to be forgiven and be there for her. He dogs her for pity’s sake. He never wavers and the dream come true of hers at that moment that is when I would have caved. Truly caved. So beautiful. But not her she still held out. Granted it gave us more of Keegan and his gestures of love and support but still she did take it a wee bit to far.

This is the perfect ending for this fairytale couple. They get separated as teens due to Keegan’s stupidity and meet again later in life. Only to see they still love each other and are each other’s breath. Now they were together and it was amazing and Gretchen the evil witch comes along and tries to destroy the kingdom of joy and bliss. Dang you Gretchen. That woman is seriously evil. What she does in this book is downright wrong on so many levels and I for one am glad she gets whats coming to her. She deserves more than what happens to her in the end.

Once Keegan gets Aimee to forgive him we have a sweet love story again. Keegan doting and Aimee happy. Gretchen does throw some snags but they deal with them together and with the other amazing couple his brother and her best friend. Although they aren’t as amazing as Keegan and Aimee. I love the gestures of Keegan and all his shows of love and support towards Aimee. But what bowled me over is the last gesture wasn’t from Keegan but Aimee. I cried when Gretchan pulled the card she did and destroyed Keegan in the process. He felt that he wasn’t good enough and would be breaking a promise to Aimee. He was shattered. But this time Aimee is the one that believes and is the whit knight. Yay….The ending so perfect and wonderful.

This is a beautiful amazing wonderfully written sweet romantic love story that has you cry, laugh, and generally root for the evil queen to be destroyed and love to prevail. The story just engulfs you and doesn’t release you until you know that love prevails. Keegan is amazing. He is kind, passionate, supportive and his love is unconditional. Aimee is wonderful and the story is just so so heartwarming and one that no one should miss. This is the ending to the love story that started when Keegan and Aimee where 6 and 7. It is their ups and downs and what they fought to be together. A incredible and amazing ending to a beautiful love.

RESTORATION AND FORGIVENESS is the second book in the Renovate Series and concludes the love story of Keegan James and Aimee Brennan. Will there be a happy ending? Kaleb and Reese's romance also continues and holds a lot of surprises.

Nothing could have prepared me for the drama and romance in this sequel. Mindy does an extremely great job of making you feel every emotion throughout this book. You will laugh, squeal with delight, and then cry, in no special order.

Keegan is the perfect, chivalrous, hot, outrageously sexy and handsomely rich gentleman. He has adored Aimee since he first laid eyes on her when she was six and he was seven years old. They formed a friendship and bond that neither could forget.
Circumstances kept them apart when Keegan graduated from high school and eight years later they reunited for an unforgettable romance.

Keegan is determined to make all of Aimee's dreams come true and sets out on a mission to show her how much he loves her. He will stop at nothing, and believe me the sky is the limit, if there is a limit. He remembers everything about Aimee. All her favorite things. Aimee is the one and only girl for him: always was and always will be. Likewise, Keegan has always been the one who held Aimee's heart.

Gretchen, who claims to be Keegan's assistant at James Architecture Firm, seems to have her own agenda where Keegan is concerned. She seems to have an uncanny control over Keegan, and Aimee has an uneasy feeling about her. She tries to avoid any confrontations because of Keegan professional relationship with her. That is until Gretchen threatens the one thing that Aimee has always wanted.......Keegan. Aimee's best friend, Reese, and Kaleb, Keegan's brother, warn Aimee that Gretchen is dangerous and that she should avoid her. None of them had any idea how far she would go to get her way.

When Keegan announces that he and Aimee are engaged, Gretchen becomes more belligerent and evil. She is unwavering in her determination to destroy their relationship. Lies and deceit are her best game. Will she succeed?

Keegan and Aimee are deeply in love with each other. Everyone sees the deep devotion they both share, but will deep, dark secrets emerge and ruin their chance at happiness? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that threaten to destroy their love and trust? Will Aimee get her heart broken by Keegan once again? Will Gretchen reign victorious in her attempt to break them up?

You must read both books in this series. They are full of emotion, great characters, and a truly unforgettable romance. I promise it will become one of your favorite series, and Mindy Carter will become an author you add to your favorites.

This series is my first by Mindy Carter and after reading the first I was dying to get my hands on this one. I HAD to know what would happen next. Would he let her go? Would Gretchen win and get Keegan? Would Aimee and Keegan find their happily ever after finally? I can say I honestly enjoyed reading this series. I was a bit disappointed by Keegan's choices towards the end of this but I get why she wrote it this way. I still was irritated at Keegan and especially Gretchen. If I could have jumped into my kindle I would have. I wanted to wrap my hands around Gretchen's throat so many times. She's such a vindictive, manipulating b@tch!!!

Keegan is set to prove to Aimee that she has been the only one is has ever loved and that he never stopped. He will have his work cut out for him to prove just that because he didn't make the best choices in the world but he does a good job doing just that.

"This had to take him years to perfect. I don't know how many, but this house is Keegan's love letter to me."

Which is amazing because the words he uses to tell her how he feels is amazing. Of course they say actions speak louder than words but considering he doesn't always do the right actions I can see how when he did this in the book she would change her mind on whether or not she should open herself up to him. Of course she does but it won't be smooth sailing that's for sure.

"There will never be a day that I won't love him, and I'm ready to give my heart to him and this life with him."

They finally are happy and together but once they go back to the real world sh@t hits the fan and Gretchen does everything in her power to keep Aimee and Keegan apart. What irritates me is that people start believing her lies even though they know she is a lying witch that will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. But Aimee grows a backbone and is determined that Gretchen will not win and she will get her happily ever after with Keegan.

"We are more than a love story, we are the love story."

I think this fits this series perfectly. They both have to work to get to their HEA but love is not easy, it takes work sometimes even if you are soul mates. Nothing in this world worth having comes easy and they definitely have their work cut out for them.

Don't miss out on reading this story of soul mates who must find each other again and work through some issues and hurdles to find their HEA. I really think you will enjoy this series.

This picked right back up from the end of the first book Skyscrapers and Camelot and sees Aimee back home.
Dealing with her father being in hospital is enough for Aimee, not only on a familial level but also on an emotional level because it gives her a reason almost to turn her back on the pain that she has suffered at Keegan’s hand, no not physically but yet again her heart has been broken by him, she needs this space and time to get her head around what has happened and to concentrate on her dad.
But really woman, did you ever think that for one moment he was going to let you slip through his fingers again, not a hope in h*ll.
He knows that he has screwed things up momentously but he is completely determined that he will not allow her to walk away from him, what they have has survived from childhood and it will darn well see them through this, they belong together he just has to make sure she can see he is willing to fight for them, even if he has to fight her in the process.
She knew he would arrive, and no matter how much she might have tried to deny it, I think she was actually glad he did. They had so much to work through that I was rooting for them from the very start but their story was far from simple.
This wasn’t just their second chance at romance, if they were cats they would be hurtling towards having almost used up all of their nine lives, they made mistakes, some of them were seriously so stupid, I had to read them twice and still left the page shaking my head! But overall I found that I wanted them to make it. I wanted them to have that happy ever after, but wanting and getting are two different stories.
Aimee was a strong character with the most amazing capacity to not only love but to forgive and by the end of the story I would say that she was one of my favourite female characters this year.
The story is well written, and on the whole, I think better constructed than the first book of the series. The plot is more challenging, there are some twists and turns that were unexpected, but amongst the angst was a book that oozed romance, that dished up some moments that will make your heart sigh but that happiness is also tinged with some unimaginable heart-break.

You have to read Skyscrapers and Camelot before you read Restoration and Forgiveness. You will be lost and not really understand the issues in the book without reading in order. You can see my review of Skyscrapers and Camelot below.

Restoration and Forgiveness is pretty good. It was a very quick and easy read for me. You see Aimee going home to her father because he has had a heart attack. She just got flattened once again by Gretchen. I want to love Keegan. I mean for all intents and purposes he should be amazingly perfect but I really don't like his total obliviousness to Gretchen's pure hatred of Aimee. Once Keegan is with Aimee at her father's house and so attentive and basically perfect it actually makes me dislike him a little more.

Aimee finally seems to start realizing that she needs to stand up for herself. I would probably do most of the things that she does in this book. She basically tells Keegan that they can pretend life is great in front of her dad but otherwise stay away from her. I will give it to Keegan that he is attentive and caring and you do know that he totally loves Aimee. He truly at the end of the day I think just a typical guy in the Gretchen area.

I do have to say that I love Kaleb and Reece in this book. Kaleb would be the absolute best guy friend in the world and Reece is a great friend too. They are both there for Keegan and Aimee and you have to love the dynamic of all four of them together. There is one area that I absolutely hate in this book and I hate it in all books. Most people don't have an issue with it so I don't take this into consideration when I rate a book.

I think most people will love this book. I am giving it 4.3 stars out of 5. It is sweet and even though I hate Keegan a little bit I love him too.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Restoration and Forgiveness is the second book in Mindy Carter's Renovate Series. It is the continuation of Keegan and Aimee's story. It is also their conclusion.

Aimee has gone back home to be with her father. She is also running from Keegan. Things have fallen apart in a big way and she just wants as far away from Keegan as possible. Keegan however is not giving up on Aimee He has promised her forever and to make all her dreams come true and thats exactly what he's going to do. Can these two find their way to happily ever after?

This book picks up exactly where Skyscrapers and Camelot left off. I can not say much about the story because I do not want to ruin anything for those of you who have not read it. I was so glad this book was out though after getting to the end of the first book. Again we are in the midst of all these amazing characters. This book is so well written I felt like I was right in the middle of this story with them. As a reader it's one of the most amazing feelings in the world. I so could not help but to root for everyone and wanted nothing more than to smack Gretchen up the side of her head. Oooo how she is the perfect love to hate character. Full of twists and turns and things you will not see coming, Restoration and Forgiveness is a must read with a second chance romance mixed with a fairytale feel.

Mindy Carter is writing a third book in this series titled Construction and Devotion. I can not wait to get my hand on this book. It's Reese and Kaleb's story. You'll totally see why I'm so anxious to read this book once you have devoured Skyscrapers and Camelot and Restoration and Forgiveness. You've got a new fan Mindy Carter, and I can't wait to see where you take me next.

Received an arc for an honest review

OMG so worth the wait!!!! I was left heart broken and hanging by a thread at the end of Skyscrapers & Camelot, the book literally gutted me! But this , this work of art was everything I was hoping for and more!!!

First of all KEEGAN IS MINE, I CALL DIBS RIGHT NOW! Yes I am shouting because he is shout worthy! He is the most romantic swoon worthy man I have ever read about. Wait to you get to the part and then you will know why!!!!!!

Keegan is funny and flirty and will not take no for an answer when it comes to Aimee. Aimee is stubborn and kind and everything you want in a heroine!! These two hit some major bumps in the road, mostly due to Gretchen (ps Gretchen is a nasty bitch and that's putting it nicely). Gretchen almost sabotages Keegan and Aimees' fairytale more than once. Can the love that they shared since they were 6 years old thrive through every obstacle that is thrown at them????

More than once my heart was in my throat with this book! It was the perfect amount of angst, heartbreak, love and frustration! oh and some HAWT!! I highly recommend this book to everyone and I can not wait for Reese' story. The writing is amazing and the story flows perfectly!!! Fantastic job Mindy!!!!!! #fan4life

I could not wait for this book, especially after the first one ended in the cliffhanger that it did. And this was well worth the wait.

This book picks up where the first one left off, Aimee is back in Pa, tending to her father, and Keegan is plotting to get her back.

There were quite a few times Aimee frustrated me to no end. That girl is stubborn! But, unlike me, she held in there and didn't give in at the first apology. She makes him work for it. Keegan puts his heart on the line. He is the perfect book boyfriend. I mean, a castle? Only Keegan James could pull that off! I will also say that I am going to have a hard time looking at a Gretchen in a good light for a long time - sorry to any Gretchen's out there! As sweet and loving as Aimee and Keegan are, Gretchen is their polar opposite...spiteful, evil, desperate, calculating...get my drift?

While we didn't have the build up in suspense like we did with the first book, this one has it's fair share of drama. I love a little angst with my love story. I think it makes it more real. Not everything can be roses and butterflies. But I'm sure if Keegan had his way, it would be. That man is just that good.

I'm the dark lover of our group so for this book to stand out to me the way it did says a lot. It's sweet, gives you hope, and if you love a friends to lovers romance with a bit of drama? This is the series for you.

I received an ARC of this book from Between The Sheets PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's release promotions.

I couldn't wait to read this book the moment I finished the first one. I think it was because of the cliffhanger at the end. Anyway, I wanted to read how Aimee and Keegan's story ended. In a way, I'm glad that they had the ending they both deserved. However, I am still not Keegan's biggest fan. I'm sorry. I know a lot of female readers are staking their claim over him. I'm just not going to be one of those.

I do like Aimee. She was far from perfect, but I do admire her personality and her character. I also loved the secondary characters, Kaleb and Reese. The resolution regarding Gretchen seemed anticlimactic. She had this huge bomb that made Keegan give up. However, how it all got fixed was just a passing narration. I would have wanted more action and thrill. I think I liked the first book better, although, for most of this book Aimee and Keegan were in love and together, and the fight was for the future, so I guess, that makes this book a little better than the previous one.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

You know it's a good series when you can't be bothered to leave a review for the previous book because you just have to know what happens. I devoured this series in the span of twenty-four hours. If it hadn't been for that pesky little thing called 'sleep', I could have finished this faster. Damn those early mornings and late nights catching up to me! I digress.
I absolutely loved Aimee and Keegan's story. Keegan has most definitely made my BBF list which hasn't had a newbie join in a while. He had me swooning at his words, devastated right along with them, and wanting to kick his ass for what he did.
I just love when characters get a physical reaction from me whether it be crying, clutching my hand over my heart or wanting to throw my kindle at something (preferably the character's head).
I'm looking forward to reading Reese's and Kaleb's story in book 3. I need to get my stalking fingers moving so I can get a release date on that. I want to be sure to add that to my calendar so I don't miss it.

Part 2 in the series is as well written as the 1st. Aimee and Keegan seem to run when they are hit with major problems and although this flight response seems crazy, in this story it works! I loved how when they return back to where it all began that they seem to be able to get to the place they need to in order to get their perspective back. You can feel the love between them and you find yourself pulling for them when the outside forces start working against them. Then add in Reese and Kaleb and you can't help but love this series. These characters become your friends as you read the story and you learn what they went through and what they are feeling. Loved how their love went through the phases of growth and gave them each the choice of building on it or walking away. It was like a modern day fairytale!

Aimee and Keegan are back! Amy is back in Indiana to help her dad who just had a heart attack. He's all she has since she lost her mom when she was younger. She gets a HUGE surprise when she finds out Keegan is right behind her in getting there. He's not giving up on them now that they had their first fight since getting back together. Gretchen is doing her best to keep them apart and Aimee is sick of her and her attitude. She finds out why Gretchen is they way she is and is disappointed it was kept from her for years by Keegan. What did Keegan keep from her? How ill it affect them? Will they end up together, or will everything go to hell with Gretchen at the wheel? Find out that and more in this awesome part 2 of this series!!!

After the cliffhanger the first book finished on, I couldn't wait to delve into this book and I was not dissapointed. I loved how Aimed made Keegan work hard to get her back, though he did redeem himself in the end. (can you say castle!) I hated that Keegan kept secrets from Aimee, if only he had told her sooner. Gretchen..... Ahhhhh, what a nasty, manipulative b@#*h! she was the perfect baddy! This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions right till the end, it's a beautifully written love story with a happily ever after that will keep you believing in fairytales. I can't wait to read Reese and Kalebs story next.

After finding out truths and finding that your love has more than enough to make it last forever, Aimee realizes that no matter how much she fights the love in her heart will always win. Her heart only beats for Keegan. The fairy tale that he promises is till with in her grasp if only she stops pushing and start listening to both her heart and him.
I loved this story, well both stories in this series it is a true testament to how much a heart can take and how strong their love is. Perfection, restoration is the fairy tale of our time, where not only does the prince vow to heal and protect the princess,no in this story the princess rescues the prince!

Keegan and Aimee final story is awesome. It was very intense and with the wait to read. I am glad there was no cliff hanger however at the end we were just kind of ended when there could have been more. Gretchen is as vindictive as ever in this book. Keegan still falls for her crap till the end. It is amazing the hold she has. I am glad Aimee won out and was so strong through it all.

This is a must read and cannot wait for the next book to come out.

I LOVED this book. I am totally head over heels in love with Keegan James. Yes the man is easily fooled. I felt so bad for what that bitch Gretchen did to Keegan and Aimee, the bitch was like a starving dog going after a bone.
I think the thing I loved the best about the book was how determined Keegan was about getting Aimee not only to take him back, but to for give him as well.
I cant wait for Reese and Kaleb's story

Restoration picks up right where Skyscrapers left off. We catch back up with Aimee with her father as he recovers from a heart attack. She is in pain and feeling scared and alone. Even when she is assured her dad will recover, the pain from the betrayal from Keegan keeps her down. Reece checks in with her as a best friend would but also to let her know that despite her best efforts, Keegan is in town as well.
Keegan just wants to be there for Aimee and assure her that despite the fact that his relationship with Gretchen wasn’t always platonic and the fact the she is the majority owner of his company, his heart and his future belongs to Aimee and always have. Things are complicated, but Keegan is confident that love will indeed conquer all.
“He loves you, and no matter what happens that’s not going to go away.”
When Aimee discovers the castle that Keegan is building for her and all the thought and care he put into making it her dream fortress, she can’t deny their fate. The two are reunited and with Kaleb and Reece baking them up they form a team against Gretchen and are determined to push forward. They formulate a plan to get the company and get Gretchen out of the picture and out of their lives for good.
Gretchen pushes back however. Her lies and depict know no bounds and she hurts Keegan in a way that pushes him away from everyone. He walks away from Aimee, from Gretchen and from his company. Aimee must fight for him as he fought for her. The question though, is will it be too late to salvage a life together after all?
“Then I do the one thing I probably shouldn’t. I make a phone call, so that I can hopefully put an end t this. Whether it’s a bad decision or not, it’s my last-ditch effort to save Keegan. It’s my turn to rescue him like he’s done with me all these years.”
The whole time I was reading this book, I knew something was coming and I knew Gretchen was going to make a move, but I truly didn’t see this coming. I was floored, and sad, and honestly, I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this ending. I am a sucker for a happy ending and having everything tied in a nice little ribbon. This was its own version of a happy ending and I was happy with the end result but I may have just been out for a little more blood where Gretchen was concerned.
I love Kaleb and Reece and I am excited to see where book three takes them. I guess I just wish I had a little more time with Keegan and Aimee, but I am crossing my fingers that I get that “more” in the next book as well.
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I was a little let down with this book. Book one left me wanting to follow this couple to see how or if they would reach their happily ever after, but this book was rather flat and uneven.

What I Did Not Like:
Keegan went from strong and confident to ridiculously lacking, in my opinion. Yeah, yeah, he said beautiful things, but he confused me with his pulling away.

Aimee was almost like a pushover when it came to how she dealt with Gretchen regarding self, but she got some grit when it came time to champion Keegan. That just seemed so backwards. Why couldn't she stand up for herself when she needed to do so?

Why did Keegan punk out on Aimee? It sort of irritates me that they got so far only to separate the way they did.

The conclusion of the story did not make up for the aforementioned.

What I Did Like:
Reese and Kaleb were fiercely loyal to each other and to Aimee and Keegan. I loved that!

Liam swooped in to help Aimee, even though she wanted help for another man. Wow! That says a lot about his character and his feelings for her.

The writing style and editing were good. The characters just annoyed me. The storyline was predictable, which isn't necessarily bad. I generally love modern grown up fairy tales. The H, despite his insistence to the contrary, seemed a bit naive. The h continued to keep blinders on and was weak. My questions from the first book were answered but the character flaws just seemed to compound.

Overall, I just found the characters irritated me as much as anything. But there have been other books which have excellent rating and tons of them and I still found the same annoyance.

Received a copy for my honest opinion.
I loved the first book in the series and was so excited when I was offered to review this.
Unfortunately it just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, love the characters. But how many times do these guys have to run away from each other because of some stupid reason? Even the best friend in the story said it's cute the first time, but now you're just making everyone dizzy.
Too much angst for me this time.

I don't know how I feel about this book. It stated off cute and then, for me, became unrealistic. I put off writing this review because I didn't have the right words but at the end of the day, that's what I think. Nothing more and nothing less. Probably a 2.5.
