Azerbaijan is located in a region that it will always remain a strategically important state, said Mammadov.
“On Dec.3, US President Barack Obama invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to attend the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, D.C,” noted Mammadov.
In his letter, Obama stressed the importance of relations between the US and Azerbaijan, said Mammadov.
Obama also noted Azerbaijan’s contributions to nuclear security, expressing hope that Azerbaijan will continue this work, the PA official added. “In the letter, the US president also expressed opinions about ways to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
Mammadov said however, it is still unknown whether the head of state will take part in this event. Mammadov added that most likely, Ilham Aliyev will participate in this summit, because Azerbaijan took part in it last time.
