The only downside about TÜLIPS new video for their song “Perfect Love” is that it’s over in 2 minutes. The tune is a blast of edgy pop-punk off their album “Doom & Bloom,” released on Lolipop Records last month. The band — Taleen Kali, Angie Bloom and Travis Barnes — calls their sound “riotgaze,” an crunchy union of riot-grrrl punk and shoegaze, but everything comes with a pop hook in tow. The video, directed by Jacob Halajian and Roham Rahmanian, captures that exuberance. And when singer-guitarist Taleen Kali exhorts, “Gimme gimme all I ever needed,” who are we to say no?
