Woman killed after snowmobile hits deer, crashes into tree

A 58-year-old woman was killed after her snowmobile hit a deer and then crashed into a tree.

The incident happened Saturday around 11 a.m. on Trail 992 near Dewyre Road in Presque Isle County.

According to the Presque Isle County Sheriff's Deparmtent, Debra Kingsley of Alpena was driving on Trail 992 when she hit a deer and then crashed into a tree.

Deputies say Kingsley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol were not involved in the incident.

Assisting at the scene were Department of Natural Resource officers, Case Township Fire Department and the Rogers City Ambulance.
