Museveni promises Lwengo more road construction equipment

Lwengo. President Museveni has promised voters in Lwengo District that his government will procure an extra road construction unit for the area.
Addressing his campaign rally at Nanywa village grounds in Ndagwe Sub-county on Tuesday, the NRM candidate said if voted, his government will ensure that it accomplishes its obligations of delivering development across the country.
Particularly for Lwengo District, Mr Museveni noted that he is aware of the underlying problems of water and poor roads and electricity but added that his manifesto has shortlisted them for the next term.

“In addition to the road construction unit, government earlier procured from China, we are considering a new batch from Japan and this district will get another complete unit which will help in digging water dams and routine maintenance of your roads,” Mr Museveni said.
In addition, the NRM candidate promised that his government will support all micro savings and credit societies with Shs2 million per village across the country.

“But as government undertakes its responsibilities of developing the country, you also have individual obligations to accomplish at your households. You ought to tap from the available opportunities to become wealthy,” he challenged his supporters. Mr Museveni added that his government will further development of all Ugandans in all sectors by increasing on the funding in the Youth fund by increasing its budget from Shs203 billion to a trillion shillings.

Youth fund
The youth fund will be increased from Shs54 billion to 234 billion which according to the President will help boost the Agricultural sector by increasing on the supply of inputs.
Mr Museveni further pledged to initiate a vibrant Women Development Fund in which he intends to inject Shs234 billion.

He, however, noted that he is aware that the effective implementation of these initiated funds have previously been abused by embezzlement tendencies, but he is yet to bridge the gaps under which they have been losing meaning.
“Such wrong characters will not frustrate our efforts to develop our people, but we cannot leave Scot free. I now task you to help us hunt all those mice from wherever they are,” he noted.
