Box Score 2 KANEOHE, HI (May 2, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Softball Team (26-21-1, 16-15-1) sent seniors
Keila Elderts,
Dorian Acierto,
Chelsea Cramer,
Toni Baysa and
Courtney Ahlo out on a high note as the Sharks took both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against Chaminade University (10-38, 9-23). The Sharks rolled to an 11-3 win in game one and then won the season finale 6-2.
Chaminade opened game one by scoring two unearned runs in the top of the first inning. That was its only lead of the day.
HPU put five runs on the board in the second inning to take the lead. The big blow was a bases loaded triple from Ahlo. Elderts and Share Esprecion followed later in the frame with RBI.
The Sharks won the game in the fourth inning with six more runs. Acierto, Cramer, Ahlo, and
Carolann Toyama each had RBI hits in the inning in addition to
Noelani Boyer being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
The 'Swords got one back in the top of the fifth, but the HPU advantage was still eight and the game was called due to the mercy rule.
Acierto, Boyer, Cramer and Ahlo all had multi-hit games.
Paige Crawford (8-7) got the win after giving up one earned run on three hits in five innings.
HPU continued to score in bunches in game two, the Sharks scored four runs in the third inning to take control. Esprecion drove in two on a RBI double, Acierto and Boyer then each drove one in.
The visitors made it a 4-1 game in the fourth inning.
Elderts tripled in her last at-bat, driving in a run in the sixth. Esprecion then singled in the senior making it 6-1.
Chaminade scored again in its last at-bat but it wasn't nearly enough.
Esprecion went 3-4 with three RBI to lead the team in game two. Starter
Kristen Caskey (12-10) got the win, giving up two runs in seven innings.
