PREMIERE: Alternative/Prog Rock Band Vox Vocis Release New Single “A Fire Favored” | RIYL: Coheed and Cambria, The Dear Hunter

Vox Vocis and VENTS magazine have teamed up for the premiere of their single “A Fire Favored”. Bringing elements of alternative, prog, and post-hardcore to the stage for a sound not unlike Coheed and CambriaThe Dear Hunter, and The Mars Volta, the band is gearing up to release their first full-length, In the Arms of the Sun on January 22nd. The album was produced and recorded by Stephen Adwell of AMR Studios, and mastered by Mike Watts (Theory of a DeadmanThe Dear HunterStory of the Year).

About the song, frontman Alex Vaquera comments: “It’s a song about the end of something and second guessing whether or not it could have been prevented. Writing it was my way of coping when I was feeling down in a new city”

On the album, Vox Vocis says: “What we want people to take away from this album is an emotional experience similar to what we had putting into it,” explains the band. “While we wrote this music it became the soundtrack of our life, and we want that affect to be felt for everyone who chooses to listen. Every aspect of the music was scrutinized and meticulously decided on and we want that to show. This album is us. It’s an embodiment of everything that we’ve experienced together for the last four years, and how it shaped us as humans.”

Having shared the stage with acts such as Icarus the OwlHail the Sun, and The Ongoing Concept, Vox Vocis is no stranger to the stage and will be embarking on a three week tour up and down the west coast this winter, dates are listed below.
