Ex-Voxhaul Broadcast guitarist-keyboardist Tony Aguiar debuted his solo venture Paris Radio (originally called PARIS) in late 2014 with a batch of dance songs rockists could love. Working in his tiny home studio, “I really got to indulge in the straight up rock ’n’ roll style of playing which I loved for a long time,” he says. “As the years passed, and after Voxhaul Broadcast broke up I was really starting to find myself musically. I began to love listening to music with heavy synth sounds and electronic elements. When I began writing the songs for Paris Radio I really wanted to incorporate my love for all of those musical elements.” “Tangled Shadow” is a four-on-floor romp that melds guitar, synth and atmospherics while Aguiar nervously untangles his emotions after the first date with the woman he’d eventually marry. “It’s about that falling feeling,” he says. “I knew I was falling way too hard for her.”
