Executive chef Jesse Miller introduces family-style plates meant to serve up to four diners, just in time for Father’s Day. Of course, if dad’s a voracious eater, you could order him a slab of slow-roasted pork shoulder with parker house buns, coleslaw, and hot sauce all to himself.

When: Regular dinner hours; $32 for the pork shoulder, $43 for beef brisket.

Country music and barbecue at Hill Country DC

410 Seventh St., NW

Hill Country barbecue market may already be much-loved by dads for its Texan-style beef shoulder clod and jalapeño cheese sausage offerings, but they also have a reputation for hosting big-name musicians in casual, intimate shows you’d rarely catch elsewhere. Case in point: this Father’s Day musician Jason Eady, whose fifth album Daylight/Dark was ranked #25 by the American Music Association, will be playing at Hill Country’s DC location for a $10 door cover.

When: Sunday June 19, 8pm; $10

Seafood brunch with bourbon at Fyve restaurant

For this “Gone Fishin’” brunch at the Pentagon City location of the Ritz-Carlton, a fresh catch landing on dad’s plate is guaranteed. Sip on bourbon specials while the kids are occupied making gifts at a hosted Father’s Day workshop. On the way out, dads will receive a grill spice rub from chef Sriram Hariharan, so they can relieve the flavors for cookouts to come.

When: Sunday, June 19, 11:30am-2:30pm; $55 for adults, $28 for children $12 and under

The two-day festival will be held on the rolling acres of Cold Friday vineyard across from Elk Run.

Or, to go extra-fancy and make reservations for the indulgent six course eat-in dinner from chefs James Wozniuk and Johnny Spero.

When: Seatings for dinner Sunday, June 18 at 5:30 and 7:30pm; tickets $120 including pairings; takeout prices vary
