Code Orange Air Quality Alert Issued in Decatur-Avondale Estates for Tuesday

Temperatures will reach the mid-90s while the alert is in effect.

The National Weather Service is advising vulnerable populations not to spend too much time outdoors on Tuesday, issuing a Code Orange air quality alert.

A code orange air quality alert means the air may be unhealthy for certain people, including children, people who are sensitive to the ozone, and people with heart or lung disease.

People who fall into the above categories should avoid, β€œprolonged outdoor exertion during the late-afternoon and early-evening hours when the ozone concentrations are highest,” the NWS says.

The NWS predicts the high temperature in Decatur-Avondale Estates will reach 94 degrees tomorrow, with a very slight wind out of the northwest on Tuesday afternoon.
