Jeb Bush PAC plots Super Bowl ad in New Hampshire

Jeb Bush could be featured in a Super Bowl commercial.

Right to Rise USA, a super-PAC supporting Bush’s presidential bid, is looking to raise $300,000 for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial in the New Hampshire market. So far, it has raised more than $174,000 from 380 donors.

The group has 11 days to raise the rest of the money. Donors who contribute $10,000 will be invited to a Super Bowl watch party.

National ads for the Super Bowl are the most expensive television advertisements of the year given the game’s huge ratings. A thirty-second spot costs $5 million.

“We need your help to run the first-ever political ad funded by everyday Americans during the 50th anniversary of the BIGGEST sports event of the year!” Right to Rise wrote on a crowd-funding website.

The website displays a picture with the word “JEB” in the middle of the NFL logo and refers to the Super Bowl as “the big game.”

This comes as Bush has jumped into second place in New Hampshire. According to an Emerson College poll released Wednesday, the former Florida governor trails only Donald Trump among likely Republican voters in the early-voting state.

The Super Bowl commercial could provide a further boost to Bush’s campaign, airing on Feb. 7 — just two days before the New Hampshire primary.

“This would make Bush part of the national conversation,” said Brad Bannon, a political strategist. “It would help him dominate the political discussion right before the New Hampshire primary.”
