Driven by traditional products, Peru's total exports amounted to US$2.757 billion in March 2016, meaning a 12.0% increase, Peru's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.
Traditional shipments totaled US$1.974 billion, whereas non-traditional exports reached US$776 million.
On the other hand, imports amounted to US$2.802 billion.
Incoming shipments were composed of inputs (US$1.162 billion), followed by capital goods (US$882 million) and consumer goods (US$727 million), among others.
Thus, the number of imports was higher than that of exports.
