Bob Fillion, oldest former Canadiens player, dies at 95
Bob Fillion, who was the oldest living former Montreal Canadiens player, has died at 95, the Canadiens said Thursday.

Bob Fillion, who was the oldest living former Montreal Canadiens player, has died at 95, the Canadiens said Thursday.

Fillion, who won the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1944 and 1946, became the oldest living former Montreal player when teammate Elmer Lach died in April at 97.

A defensive-minded left wing, Fillion had 42 goals and 61 assists in 327 regular-season games over seven NHL seasons, all with the Canadiens. The Thetford Mines, Quebec, native had seven goals and four assists in 33 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Gerry Plamondon, 91, is believed to be the oldest living former Canadiens player after Fillion's death, according to The Associated Press.
