We introduced SoulTrackers to Georgia-born LaTonya Holmes three years ago when she issued an excellent version of Diana Ross’s “Love Hangover.” As a youth, LaTonya followed her dream to act and sing on Broadway. Her talent led her to a role in the national touring company of Oprah Winfrey's The Color Purple. But then, a tragic accident occurred - and within days she lost her eyesight. It took two years, but with faith and the contribution of four different doctors, her sight was restored.

LaTonya now takes a soulful turn on her newest single. Produced by Myron McKinley (Earth Wind & Fire, Howard Hewett) "Things Change" draws upon her southern roots to create a very nice ballad. She tells us, “‘Things Change’ came to me one night, waking me out of my sleep at 4 in the morning. I went on my balcony and wrote it right then. What I want listeners to take away from the song is you can’t hold everybody else accountable for things that change.  You are responsible for your own growth.  It’s o.k. to have your moment – to cry, cuss and fuss – but then you’ve got to release it, wish them well and press on.  Don’t hinder your blessings.   Love yourself first.”

We’re glad to welcome LaTonya back and look forward to her upcoming EP. Check her out below and tell us what you think!
