Reading, film and theatre have always been my escape and inspiration. I always had the Braille Club Book Series in my head, it was getting it down on paper that was the tricky bit!
When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create something that mirrored exactly the kind of books I like to read. My top picks are always originals, featuring strong male and female protagonists with attitude. Benedict is detached and an enigma until he meets Siena. She turns his world upside down and he suddenly reconnects. I can’t tell you how many readers tell me how they were gripped by their story. How they loved the originality of the other two stories running through the book and the mix of characters!
The Braille Club Series books are a great mix of genres. Although sensuality plays a big part, there is also intrigue and a touch of thriller.
Overall, the Braille Club series is designed to keep you turning the pages – for those adventurous enough to try!

With its publication came the realisation of a very personal dream.

I would just like to mention the story is purely from my imagination and not from personal experience... if only.

I start every book the same way. I write my endings first. I think it's crucial to know how your book ends and if the story will continue.
My head gets so crowded with stories I simply have to write. I can lose myself for hours in the characters I've created.
I live with my husband (who has been very patient and a good sounding board for my ideas) and my two kids who have helped with most of my IT issues as technology is not my first love...
I hope you enjoy my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

This novel is above all else, (despite the sensuous tone of the novel), is about relationships and the interaction between believable characters and them seeking to explore other avenues in their lives to pique their interests. The couples seek something beyond the mundane and unburdening themselves of that and they seek out "The Braille Club." This is about the eagerness to connect, or to reconnect with each other, with themselves as individuals by connect through the senses finding out what makes them tick as individuals, as red blooded human beings as sexual beings. The senses is how we become intuitive about ourselves and our bodies and our sexual willingness and awakening. I loved the use of psychology in this novel by the expressing the benefits of sensory messages through touch, taste, smell. Making love to the mind first before making love to the body.

I really enjoyed this book. The dynamic between Benedict and Siena was very interesting. I don't want to give away any spoilers. However, I would say I don't think I've read a story where the heroine was quite so complex and complicated at times. Siena's intricate layers made the story so intriguing. Thank you J.A. Kerr for giving me a wonderful story.

Wow, I just finished reading a strangely fantastic, amazingly unique, particularly interesting book. Breathless and wanting more would be the best way to describe how The Braille Club by J.A. Kerr left me feeling. Suffice to say, I have been introduced to a new world, so to speak, and I would love to be invited in.

Kerr’s novel is alluring and gives readers an intimate look at a lifestyle that many would see as taboo. Each chapter provides a new tidbit of information about The Braille Club and introduces well-developed characters that are realistic and easy to identify with. It is the characters that make this “new world” seem a little less out of reach, a little more tempting, and sometimes a lot more erotic.

For me, as I read, the underlying question that kept popping into my head was … how far would I be willing to go for my relationship? What would I be willing to experience to rekindle a passion that I knew nearly 15 years ago when my husband and I first met. Think on the most intimate of levels that you are able to imagine and then take it a step or two further and you probably still won’t completely understand The Braille Club. The “awakening” that I felt while reading Kerr’s novel leads me to believe that I am more than willing to go the distance. Enough about me!

Suspenseful, sensual, and intimate are easily words one would use to describe Kerr's novel and they are just enough to get you hooked and wanting for more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

If I found one flaw in the book it would be problems with punctuation. There were a few times when this slowed the flow of the book for me as I had to go back and read but overall … still a great book!

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary product to facilitate this review. Regardless, all opinions expressed are still 100% my own.

This is a sensuous book, which deals with romance, relationships and sex but tackles these subjects from the opposite end of the spectrum to Fifty Shades! This is not a piece of erotica although some scenes are undoubtedly quite erotic. The author has imagined a club where people come to have their senses tantalised and awakened by being blindfolded and made to sit without moving while experiencing sensations that will arouse and excite them. It is often said that men are driven by visual stimulation and with their vision removed the author has created an interesting scenario.
This is a well written book with a wide variety of characters and the story centres around the impact the club has on their relationships. I enjoyed that everything about the characters and the club seemed very realistic and I am wondering if such a club does actually exist!

Erotic thrillers are not the genre I usually read, in fact, the Braille Club was my first in this style. But, I can now say definitively that it won’t be my last. I absolutely loved the Braille Club! Right from the start of this book, JA Kerr sets the tone with an intense erotic scene between her characters of Anna and Guy, and the book takes off from there.

Set around an up and coming underground night club, the Braille Club is all about bringing its members the highest levels of experience in sensual stimulation. The story follows several people and their relationships with one another and how their relationships are all tied into the club. The chapters alternate back and forth from the couples slowing bring out their personal issues while also developing their uniqueness and making them relatable for the reader. JA Kerr did a fantastic job setting up peaks and valleys in this novel between the storyline itself and the intense, intimate transgressions of the couples, it really helped to keep the reader engaged.

I really enjoyed JA Kerr’s writing style, it was smooth and came off as natural, as if this was a story she’d told a thousand times before, a true sign of a quality story-teller. Following the storyline was simple and straight-forward throughout the book. Sometimes with a lengthy fiction-piece when there’s a lot of characters added and separate relationship narratives to follow, the story can become bogged down and tough to follow, but if the author can keep things concise than this isn’t a problem, I believe JA Kerr did just that in this novel.

My final thoughts are that I really enjoyed this book, and I’m super happy I picked it up. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author and even more stories of this genre because of her. From the first page to the last this book hit on the depths of human emotion and was edgy without ever crossing a line. Very well done! Keep up the good work, Kerr. A++

Exclusivity, exploitation of sensory deprivation, to heighten sexual pleasure and non- negotiable rules define ‘The Braille Club’ but sensually written erotic romance is only one facet of this complex story.
The club’s owner is an enigma. Benedict Harrison has many of the personality traits of the modern day Sherlock Homes. He is frighteningly intelligent but emotionally cut off from the people and world around him because of a traumatic childhood.
The club’s creation mirrors Benedict and Siena’s relationship and psychological suspense merges with the erotic romance.
The stories of the newest club members add another dimension to this interesting book. I loved Abbey and Gabriella, strong women who have a unique, personal battle to reassert their identity.
The characters are complex and reflect the celebrity culture that dominates the 21st century.
Erotic romance meets psychological suspense with page turning results. I’m looking forward to book 2.

I can’t say I’m really a fan of erotic fiction, or fifty shades and all that. I’m all for sex but these days there’s too much sex for sex’s sake. But there are a few who do it well and tell a great story as well, ie Sadie Matthews. And the Braille Club definitely falls into this category. . It’s the story of a club, where the members are blindfold and find each other by their other senses. It has a great assortment of characters, who discover or rediscover each other. Great characterisation, the sex is secondary although important. I found myself gripped by the story, and couldn’t stop reading. The author has a vivid imagination, and she uses this to full affect here. Can’t wait for the next one.

The Braille Club is a novel that truly delivers. Right out of the gate the story pulls you in when Will and Benedict go into this party, more like a game, where they have to wear blindfolds and get tied to a chair. They are then teased in a sexual way, but if they move they move their hands they lose and will be asked to leave. It is very arousing. The party an event the characters cannot forget and want very much to experience again.

Fast forward ten years Benedict will stop at nothing to meet the woman kissed him at that party, does he meet hear?

The book is well written and the character development is very good, I especially liked the interactions between them. You will be very pleased.

This book was a big surprise and not what I expected, I really loved it .
The author gives you more about the braille club in each chapter and the story weaves between a diverse mix of characters. This is a sensual read but it is well written and not erotica without giving spoilers it's a book about the people involved in the club and there varied journey s in life and love .
I don't think I have read a story quite like this one ,I did take a while to get used to switching between the past, present and the different characters but once I got into it I was swept away and totally hooked .
J.A. Kerr will definitely be added to my read again list. I received the arc for an honest review.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
I couldn't not stop reading The Braille Club, it pulled me in from start to finish. The characters are very developed, it was like peeling an onion just to get to a more fascinated layer of the character. The storyline has flashbacks to the past but everything flows nicely and it enhances the story. This book is packed with suspense, drama, love, sex and so much more. It's original, fresh and a nice different read. I look forward to book 2.

I can't stop raving about this book. I want to read more work by this author and experience what I did with this book.

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and it will not be the last. This is a well written and fascinating story. The main characters Benedict and Siena are interesting, and have a complicated but passionate relationship.
This story is not about a sex club as such, it is written in the theme of sexual experience. I will be reading more of this authors work in the future.

I, for some time, wanted to have read this series and when an opportunity arose I did not hesitate. I was very happy to have the chance to read this series and every word I read made me become more and more anxious.
J. A. Kerr is a new author to me and I can say that I enjoyed a lot the way she tells this story. The way she writes is simple and catchy, and the fact that the book is narrated in the third person makes it different as if she was reading just for me.
"The Braille Club" explores the story of various characters, each special in its own way.
Benedict is the founder of the Braille Club, club that he decided to open after attending a party where the theme was similar. Something awakens him and the unknown was something that enthused and excited. He felt something he never expected to feel and want to find the person who gave him this wonderful experience. He is a very private person, just want to make his business thrive, do not want relationships and does not have time for girlfriends.
Sienna is a mysterious woman, who had known Benedict in a bar and cannot forget him. Unfortunately she has a past that haunts her and wants at all costs to be happy and free from the shackles that limit her happiness.
Nick is Sienna’s husband, he’s a psychiatrist, a very possessive of his wife, but something in it emanates bad energy.
Guy is the right arm of Benedict, he’s a former police officer and with Benedict they manage “The Braille Club”. He is a reserved and taciturn man.
Matt is Benedict’s best friend. He's an attractive man, cheerful and loves parties. For him their friendship is very important.
Gabriella is a married woman but lately her love life has not run optimally. She longs to spice up her sex life, to find desire again.
Abbey was constantly betrayed by her husband and never felt so miserable and humiliated like this. She wants to save her marriage but don’t know how.
Through a friend, Abbey and Gabriella know the “The Braille Club”. The unknown captivates them but would have managed the necessary weapons to save their marriages?
The whole book alternates between the present and the past. We get to know Benedict’s past but also his present.
I loved what I read, the uncertain, the mystery, the unknown made me want to read more and more. I had said this before but I will say it again, I found this book extremely engaging and cannot wait to start reading the next book, "The Braille Club Unbound" because the suspense involving the last chapters was very agonizing and intense.

The Braille Club referred to in the title of this book is an exclusive, luxurious, private club dedicated to sensory and sexual richness. Members agree to be blindfolded and loosely bound before being sensually stimulated. The catch is that any movement the client makes will make the bell on the cuffs ring, effectively ending the session. Erotic tension increases along with the need to control it.

The club format allows the author to explore the role of sex, love, and power in several different relationships. For one couple, the Braille Club experience reignites the spark in their marriage. For others, it proves far more complicated.

The story’s wealth is that complexity. Good sex can improve a relationship but it can’t save a bad one. And sometimes, what seems so right in the heat of the moment looks very wrong later on.

And it brings up interesting questions about power and control, especially when two men vie for the sexual favors of and effective control over - the same woman. Throughout the animal world, you can find examples of males competing for females, but usually the loser slinks away, presumably to lick his wounds and try again another day. In The Braille Club, the rejected lover is driven to the flip side of love: vengeance and violence.

The most interesting question the book raises is the link between sexual passion and genuine concern for the partner. While I think some do “fool around and fall in love,” others just fool around. But the book suggests that passion often leads to love.

This is a very interesting read: part drama, part romance, part thriller. It’s well-crafted and carefully paced. The only problem is the unsolved question at the end of the book. I guess I’ll have to wait for the second installment!

Highly recommended

This was such a different read for me - and not just because it was primarily based in the UK. Luckily I already knew all of the terminology and what they mean in the US. There are a lot of characters, and I actually took notes in order to keep everyone straight. (This was essential for me, my reading style and comprehension/retention.)
The story goes back and forth between present, past and future. This was done surprisingly well. I say surprisingly because I have not seen it done with a seamless flow before. You knew right away who the main characters were going to be. We also got to see the progression of several other couples, their experiences in the club and how that affected their relationships. We get a lot of information about all the characters, which was essential to their development. There is a lot of back and forth between the couples as well as each person individually.
This book was so beautifully written I cannot possibly give it the praise it deserves. Since this is an ongoing story, not all questions are answered at the end. It does, however, leave you with wanting more. There really is everything in this book - love, lust, longing, devastation, heart stopping moments, heart melting moments and people you care about and want the best for them. I wanted so many to be so happy. There wasn't a single character that I did not feel emotion for. The Braille Club is a truly unique experience, and should be read by everyone.

This is one of those books where you read a few pages and you're trying to acclimate yourself and then it hits you where this story is going and you're like....wait! what?! lol Had to go back and start over because I wanted to make sure I read it correctly. That's when I was hooked!!

Our story begins when Benedict along with his friend, Will, go to a Braille party years ago. He didn't know what a Braille party was and confusion grew when he was handed a blindfold. He was anxious, to say the least. He received a kiss that night that would stay with him for a long time! That experience drove him to open his own Braille club. It's not a sex club, per se, it's a sensory experience. Ultimately Benedict still is looking for that woman this rocked his world with a kiss years ago.

Gabriella and Abbey both join the Braille Club and both for different reasons. Gabriella is hoping to fix her marriage by coming to the Braille Club. Will it work or does it backfire on her? Abbey joins because of her cheating husband. Does that work or backfire?

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were amazing and the whole scenario was just so different. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was a tad confusing because the book kept going from the past to the present. It just made me pay closer attention! Looking forward to reading book 2!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

J.A. Kerr has penned a very elegant story in The Braille Club. The Braille Club exists for people to test their sexual endurance through heightened pleasure. The story follows the experiences of three separate couples and their different reasons for visiting the exclusive club.

The three couples motives for escaping to the unique club vary. Gabriella and Max are an older couple in need of rejuvenation in their sex life. Abbey, who is married to Steve, is looking for a way to feel good about herself on the heels of yet another one of Steve's affairs. The main story line follows Benedict and Siena, lovers who try to overcome their obstacles to be together.

The beginning of each chapter takes us further into the mystery that is The Braille Club. The club is like nothing you have imagined and everything you might enjoy. As Kerr says, "elite membership walks in the dark in order to find the light," and they are bound by the commandments. Each who obeys continues to enjoy the perks of the most exclusive club in London.

Kerr winds a very intriguing story. The idea is definitely unique and the story pulls the reader in. I certainly had my favorites among the three couples and hope they all make into book 2.

Even though this story isn't one I would normally go for, aka, not sci-fi or fantasy, I was intrigued by the idea of this club and the different characters it seemed to be about. I'm so glad I gave this book a chance! Not only is it well written, but the story moves forward at a steady pace. The flashbacks are concise and easy to follow and don't take away from the present story but are so well placed they help add to it.

The tension between Benedict and Siena alone would be enough to move this story. I loved reading their scenes and learning about their history. While this book would be classified as an erotic story it takes it on in a different way than most erotic novels. Sensual arousal was not only the goal of the braille club but the erotic scenes as well. I would still recommend this book for those 18 and older.

Even if this type of romance novel is not your thing, I would strongly suggest giving this book a try. The characters are well developed and you fill find yourself sucked into this novel before you even realize it. You may even find yourself wondering if a club like the braille club is real....

This book dives into a hidden world of a secret exclusive club that is run by Benedict Harrison after he once attended a Braille Club and never gave up looking for the girl he never saw.

The book goes from the past to the future and looks into the lives of 4 key people - Benedict Harrison, Sienna Waters, Gabriella Ballantyne and Abbey. Each of them are linked to the Braille Club but for different reasons, which the book explores.

I did find it difficult to get into the book but did enjoy it once I got into it. I must admit that I was confused at parts with it flipping from the past to the present as I wasn't always paying attention to the years at the beginning of the chapters.

I enjoyed all the characters stories and enjoyed the look into their lives and why they all ended up at the Braille Club. It was interesting to see how it affected each of their lives and where it left them at the end of the book.

The relationship between Sienna and Benedict was an interesting one and I definitely did not see some of the things that came out coming - some shocks for sure! I also didn't see the cliffhanger ending coming and I really didn't like where it was leading and hinting at!

I will definitely be reading the next story as I need to see where everything has left off!

Ok...so from the very begining i knew there was book two, so I knew i was going to be up for a cliff hanger of some sort. Which normally I don't love, but in this case i kind of felt like there was no other option or else Kerr would have been trying to sell a 800 page novel. The cliff hanger wasnt the worse kind either. You kind of had a feeling it was coming. Does it make me wanna buy the other book? You bet it does...and I already have. Well played J.A Kerr.
The story is really interesting, I really loved that there were a few central characters couples, yet one main couple. I enjoyed the jumping from each couple and each perspective.
Honestly i've not read anything like this before. It was really interesting. Thankfully it wasnt just a big book of sex, there was depth in the characters. The main two characters Benedict and Siena were like onions with layers that only each other could get under. I didnt want to put it down.
For the next book I hope the other charaters continue and build too, in particular Guy. in the first book his role isnt huge, but he is kind of like the glue, a very complex character that I really want to see more of.
All in all this book won't disappoint you, it may keep you up to the wee hours of the morning, but isnt that what you want a book to do?

I’m not sure what exactly I have just read but I have to say it is probably one of the most interesting books that I have read lately.
The Braille Club was so different to anything that I have read that actually writing a review is not an easy task. The author was able to produce a story that was as enticing as it was intimate. It was deliberately evasive, it intimated and encouraged me to reach for fact and conclusions, all the while hiding just enough to break my train of thought.
The story didn’t unfold, it was unveiled, each page brought more than I imagined and added a little extra clue to the tale. I thought the characters that the author threw into the story were absolutely perfect, they were eclectic yet interesting and their story continued to develop with every flick of the page.
I like that the author almost baited me into taking a look at my own life, I think the sign of a great book is one that has you willing to look and question not necessarily your life but your reaction to events in it.
This did that and no…I’m not telling you what conclusion I came too but well played Ms Kerr!
With the next book ready and waiting on my kindle by the time I got to the end I found myself desperate, desperate to find out what happens next.

I received a free ecopy and I am receiving a small fee for an honest review.

J.A. Kerr has created a unique private club called the Braille Club and has built several stories of couples who are members of the club.

The way this story is written is interesting. Some of the stories are in the present and some are in the future. There are also flashbacks to the past. While this could have been confusing, the author pulls it off and the story actually flows well. I also liked the blurbs at the beginning of each chapter that explain how the Braille Club works. The one thing that was frustrating was the lack of punctuation, especially quotation marks.

The characters were well developed and I enjoyed how they and their relationships progressed throughout the novel. I also found it interesting that I had trouble relating to Benedict at the beginning but, eventually, as he found his emotions, he became different, likeable, person.

I definitely recommend this book. It is full of drama, joy, love , sex, intimacy, and even some suspense. I look forward to reading Braille II but I hope J.A. Kerr invests in an editor for the next book.

The Braille Club is an excellently written story with a wonderful collaboration of intricate storylines intertwined to create an amazing adventure.
I found the Braille Club an exciting journey through unknown territory that was tremendously gratifying.
Sienna, the beautiful mind that created a world that was extended and furthered by Benedict. Two creative entities that found one another in what seemed a different dimension. Many years after the Original Braille Party that opened Benedict's eyes to emotion like he had ever known, he finds the woman he could never subconsciously get out of his mind. Seen as stand-offish, he searches for that feeling of true emotion he experienced that night, but does not find it in any of the women he entertains and leaves in search of that one perfect kiss.
Members of the Braille Club come from all walks of life, they all have different needs and desires that can be fulfilled properly if you follow their three simple rules.
Join JA Kerr as you journey through this world of darkness and silence, where desires are brought to the forefront and where love can become deadly.
You will never want this story to end!

This book is erotic and hot, but not in the way you may think. The writing is sexy, captivating and I could not stop reading. The Braille Club is a secretive, exclusive club where members get to experience sensual, sensory activities, and that is putting it lightly. What I loved about this story was it switched to different couples throughout, and we get to follow their experience at The Braille club, and their lives. Each couple are different, exciting and their stories are all incredibly intriguing. I loved getting to know them all. All except Nick, I actually hated him, and he deserves my hate. My favourite couple have to be Benedict and Siena, their story hit me the most! Normally, if I read a book that flips back and forth different characters I get lost, but the writing and scenes flowed effortlessly in this book. The last couple of chapters had my heart thumping so fast, and then THAT ending! It’s a good thing I have book two already waiting on my kindle! Brilliant, I LOVED it.

This author’s debut novel is great! Her writing is captivating, completely flawless, and descriptive enough to the point that you feel you’re there. Several couple visit The Braille Club to ignite the passion in their relationships, or out of pure curiosity. The Braille Club itself sounds glamorous, and before every chapter you get a glimpse of the club, and how it works. My favourite couple was obviously the charming and handsome Benedict. I also like Siena, so rooted for their happiness. I disliked Nick, and towards the end, the book gets really gripping, making you desperate to know what happens. AND THEN you’re hit with the ending, and OMG, you WILL want to know what happens!! I’d like to read more about the character’s journeys, but the ones I’d especially like to follow are Benedict and Siana’s, and Abbey and Luke’s, to see where they stand, and I wouldn’t mind hearing more about handsome Guy Walker, and of course, finding out the end result!

If you have read many of my reviews, you will know that I enjoy a good romance. I don't mind too much if they're adult content. And this book looked right up my street. The blurb promised so much. And I really, really wanted to love it. But I didn't quite get there.

The notion of the club was an intriguing premise, and we were treated to tantalising glimpses of the erotic nature of the story. I wasn't keen on the cheating element, though I could have got past that. But for me, the main issue was that the story bounced around all over the place. Alternating points of view; current and past; main characters and side stories. I felt as if the author was trying to do too much, and it was distracting.

It also affected the pacing. I struggled to get into the story, and this took much longer for me to read than is usual for a book of this length.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Braille Club was great. It was so well written and compelling from page 1. The premise of the book was so intriguing to me. I loved the sexy, secret and elite club. The patrons are seduced Ito an erotic restraint that sets the atmosphere for the book. The protagonist, full of painful secrets and withholding, finds himself endlessly yearning for an anonymous Braille Club guest, a woman whose face and name was unknown to him. The scenes in the club are sensual with a little bit of an unsettling feel (in a good way). Beyond the experience at the club, the characters are well developed with many psychological layers from aloof to vulnerable. We grow to see their depth revealed through undertones that turn to an unexpected plot development. i can't wait for the sequel. It was hard to put this book down!

Erogenous to the Senses!

I read the second book before I read this one, and this one did not disappoint. I did not need to read them in order to understand the characters or the concept of the Braille Club. However, I loved Benedict's experience at the Braille party that led him to the creation of the Braille Club. It also leds to so much more. This book is sexy and erotic, but its so much more than that. It hits the senses, and makes the reader so aware of the characters and the entanglement that they bring to each other's lives. I love the introduction of Sierra and Benedict's reaction. Knowing Benedict's history, it helps see how he is now. Everyone has their own reasons for belonging to the Braille club, and each story is interesting and intriguing to see how it will all play out, blindfolded!
