In the last few years we have invested strategically to deliver more than GBP 350 million worth of new facilities across our campuses with plans for significant further investment between now and 2016. To further strengthen our activities in Physical Geography we are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer (Education and Research) or Associate Professor (Education and Research) based at our Penryn campus in Cornwall, with a particular interest in physical geography including:
Remote sensing (of all spheres of the Earth system);
Geographic information systems and science;
Environmental modelling;
Landscape geomorphology;
Environmental change; and hydrology.
For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, applicants must be qualified to PhD level in Physical Geography or a closely related discipline and be able to demonstrate a strong potential for research leadership with a track record in refereed publications and proven success in significant grant capture. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels on a range of programmes.
In addition to the above, for appointment at Associate Professor level we are looking for applicants with significant management, leadership and entrepreneurship, as evidenced by; management of significant income-generating programmes, leadership and management of the design and development of the overall curricula and significant contribution to the leadership and management of the development of teaching and learning strategies and academic standards for the subject area of Physical Geography.
