COREY Parker doesn't even have to get on the field to give his younger teammates a lesson in professionalism.

Parker has shown his toughness and tenacity to overcome a terrible contact injury to take his place against the Sea Eagles in Gosford tomorrow night.

The international was only a 50 per cent chance of playing this week after copping a shocking bruise out of a collision with Titan Ryan James last Friday.

But Parker did not miss a thing at training this week despite sporting bulky padding on his upper arm.

Broncos’ coach Wayne Bennett said today it was a lesson for all.

"He is pretty tough - he hasn't missed a training run, which is remarkable," said Bennett.

"If you saw the bruise on his arm, which runs from the top of his shoulder to his elbow....

"And if you saw how painful it has been and sore it was - and he didn't miss a training session or ask for any leniency.

"It is an amazing example for the younger guys."

Bennett said the Broncos needed to forget about the turmoil Manly had been through this week as their popular coach Geoff Toovey was let go.

The Broncos need to just play the game, said the master coach.

"We are playing good football and we want to just keep doing that," he said.

"We don't know what is going on at Manly, and obviously there is a bit going on.

"But we just have to go down there and be the Broncos and play well."

Justin Hodges has travelled with the team this afternoon despite not completing training.

Bennett said the Broncos were confident Hodges, who had a knee twinge, would play.

"No-one thinks it is too serious,” he said.

"We think he will play but we will take Dale Copley with us.

"We are pretty optimistic he (Hodges) will play."
