Augustana men's basketball ranked fifth in latest NABC Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Augustana University men's basketball dropped four spots to No. 5 in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll the national organization announced Tuesday.
 
Augustana (20-2, 17-1 NSIC) spent the last two weeks at No. 1 in the country. The Vikings received one first-place vote in this week's poll. Western Oregon earned 11 first-place votes and the No. 1 spot for the first time in program history. Wheeling Jesuit earned four first-place votes and is second this week, followed by West Liberty in third, Lincoln Memoria in fourth and Augustana in fifth.
 
Augustana is one of two NSIC teams in this week's NABC Top 25. The Vikings defeated No. 8 MSU Moorhead last weekend and the Dragons dropped three spots to No. 11.
 
The Vikings have spent 21 straight weeks in the top 10 of the NABC poll dating back to Jan. 13 of last season. Augustana has been ranked inside the top 10 of the NABC poll 28 times in program history. This marks the 27th consecutive week in the rankings for the Vikings dating back to Nov. 25 of last season.
 
Augustana continues play on the road this weekend taking on Southwest Minnesota State at 8 p.m. in Marshall, Minn. on Friday and USF at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Stewart Center.
