The Philadelphia Flyers recalled the 22-year-old from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, on Saturday.

He is expected to take the roster spot of defenseman Mark Sterit, who will have groin surgery on Tuesday and miss six weeks.

The Flyers drafted Gostisbehere in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and signed him days after he led Union to the 2014 NCAA championship.
