Dwayne Johnson is launching his own 'bad ass' YouTube channel

Bringing the action to YouTube

Dwayne Johnson may have his plate full with movie shoots for Fast 8 and Baywatch, but the actor is also gearing up to launch his own YouTube channel.

Johnson made the announcement on Instagram earlier today that his production company, Seven Bucks Digital Studios, and their partners at Studio71 would be teaming up to create exclusive content for the video sharing site. Johnson said he's been wanting to expand into the digital streaming space for quite some time, and finally had enough of an idea of what he wanted to do to finally launch it.

"We're fired up to create a platform for the immensely talented digital filmmakers around the world and also curate content that's entertaining, provocative and funny AF — as we say in the streets," Johnson wrote.

Johnson will appear in many of the videos that he produces, but will also use the channel to highlight talent from up-and-coming filmmakers that have action-packed scripts. The channel will launch this summer.

Johnson can be seen next on the second season of HBO's Ballers, which premieres July 17 at 10 p.m. ET.
