Cruz won't delay Senate vote on budget, debt limit WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said he won't delay a deal struck between Senate leaders to reopen the government and raise the U.S. debt ceiling. The agreement, announced Wednesday, will fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the borrowing limit through Feb. 7. It also sets up a committee to deal with long-term budget issues, with a Dec. 13 reporting deadline. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced the deal on the floor Wednesday afternoon.
