A 14-year-old boy from Queens has been missing since Friday, and the police are asking for the public's help in finding him. It's particularly critical to find the child because he's mute and autistic.

Avonte Oquendo, who lives on 67th Avenue, was last seen at 12:38 p.m. leaving the Center Boulevard School at 1-50 51 Avenue. He was wearing a grey striped shirt, black jeans and black sneakers. He's 5'3" and about 125 pounds—and he cannot verbally communicate.

His mother begs the public, "Anyone out there, any borough, if you see this child please have compassion and please just call the police and say I've seen him."

Anyone with information in regards to this missing is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577
