London Fashion Week Says Hello To Its New Home – In Soho

So... London Fashion Week has a new home! This morning marked a new dawn for LFW, but as the sun rose, its fashion rays shone not on the familiar cobbles of Somerset House but instead on the streets of Soho.

The new base for Fashion Week is the Brewer Street car park in the heart of the West End. The more central location will house many of the shows, the BFC show space and designer showrooms.

When news broke of the move earlier this year, Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, said: 'The long term growth of the UK’s designer fashion market is reflected geographically in this move that will see London Fashion Week designers showcasing collections in one of London’s most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs set within a mile of Bond Street, Dover Street, Mount Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street.

'The new and exciting venue has already been dubbed as Brewer Street’s ‘Fashion Park’ and will offer freedom and flexibility to designers who will be able to transform the show space to reflect their own aesthetics and identity.'

It is expected that, as of today, Soho will be taken over by Fashion Week – with presentations and pop-ups taking place around the area including at the Vinyl Factory, Shaftesbury Estate and up Berwick Street.
