Well, here we are in June. Auburn baseball and softball are both finished with their seasons. Only golf and some members of the track team remain in competition.
SOFTBALL
The only Auburn sports team I can even think compares to this team for excitement is the 2013 Auburn football team. There's one big difference, though. Everyone already loved football. This team turned Auburn into a softball school. They did it through their amazing refusal to quit and their exciting play.
After losing to LSU in Game 1 of the WCWS, they came back and defeated Tennessee to survive. They played an amazingly tough and exciting game against traditional power UCLA later that same night. With minimal rest, they turned around and played the defending champion and #1 team in the nation and took the Florida Gators into extra innings in dramatic fashion. Unfortunately, that was the end. The Tigers fell in extra innings to the Gators.
The sentiment among the team and the coaches? They'll be back. Clint Myers has a lot of experience with getting teams to Oklahoma City, and this team was very young. They will be back. Jay Jacobs' plan is to ensure that Clint Myers is coaching at Auburn until he decides it's time to hang it up.
My thoughts on that? Whatever he wants...

BASEBALL
Just like softball, the baseball team's season ended on Sunday, as well. The dropped Game 1 of the Regional to College of Charleston in extras. They defeated Mercer 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The game on Sunday was delayed by weather, but once it was completed Nick Pappas' two home runs were too much for Auburn to overcome. The Tigers lost 3-2 in what was the fifth one-run game of the Tallahassee Regional.
GOLF
The Golf team is still going in the NCAA Championships. They're currently tied for 12th with just a few holes to play in the 3rd round. Play was suspended Sunday evening. The top 15 teams will advance to the 4th round. At one point on Sunday they climbed all the way to 5th.
TRACK & FIELD
Golf and Track are still going. The NCAA Outdoor Nationals won't be held for another two weeks, and it looks like Auburn is going to be sending a few athletes to that event.
FOOTBALL
Auburn got some great news over the weekend for the 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes. Consensus 4* WR Eli Stove committed to the Tigers to add to a position of need in the 2016 class. In a great way to start off the 2017 class, 5* Offensive Lineman Calvin Ashley committed during Big Cat Weekend, as well.

The way the game of college football is played has been changing for years. Will Muschamp is adjusting in order to meet that change. His defenses have been excellent everywhere he's been, so there's no reason to think he can't or won't adjust effectively.
Big Cat Weekend was a big success, even if so far it has only landed two recruits. One recruit I really hope ends up on the Plains because he seems like a good prankster is linebacker Donta Evans. He got both Will Muschamp and Gus Malzahn.
Sooo, the SEC did well this year. Very well. Record payouts to the schools, and the SEC Network still isn't at its full potential since it didn't have a full year to build revenue.
There were a lot of rule changes agreed upon during the SEC Spring Meetings. We'll get around to giving a full update on that either this afternoon or tomorrow.
