NO MAJOR SPOILERS
After eventually getting into The Catcher in the Rye after a few attempts as a teenager (his attitude put me off, being too similar) some 15 years later I found it so refreshing to hear someone else who struggles with people who are false, and I understood how angry he was and how much I felt like reaching out to Holden and saying, you’re not alone.
I took comfort in this fictional character and I felt so elated once I had finished I went and found my friend to share my happy with him. Then after reading it again (I find rereading a challenge) I felt utterly aghast.
