"I never really thought I was a green person," says interior designer Lindsey Coral Harper inside her Upper East Side apartment, where malachite plates, flatware, boxes, trays, and jewelry, occupy nearly every surface. The emerald stone even hangs in her closet. "I saw this Monique Lhuillier malachite gown and had to have it for my friend's wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel," she says wearing the chiffon whirlwind of green hues that rocked the Fall 2013 runway. But most of her treasures were not found on Madison Avenue. "I pick it up where I find it—mostly at junk stores."
