Titanfall Game Director Discusses Future Support

Titanfall Game Director Discusses Future Support

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall game director Steve Fukuda openly discussed what kind of support the studio will be bringing to its sci-fi shooter from here on out. In a post published on Titanfall’s official website, Fukuda mentioned that the studio will be increasing the frequency in which it will be rolling out updates for the title.

Now that we are transitioning from making the game to supporting it, “ Fukuda explained, “ one of the many things I want to improve is what I call our ‘update tempo’ – not just accelerating how often we update the game, but also improving our frequency and quality of communication about those updates with the community.

Fukuda then proceeded to discuss what kind of support Titanfall will be receiving. Right now, Respawn will be focusing on minor tweaks and fixes on the title, and working on the core health of the game itself.

Furthermore, Titanfall will be receiving “convenience features”, which are said to make your life more pleasant when playing the game. Fukuda uses the recently added Party Colors feature as an example, which allows you to easily identify who’s in your party both in-game and in the lobby. Titanfall’s most recent update added more convenience features to the game, such as the ability to rename your custom loadouts and to view your challenges by certain criterias.

Lastly, Fukuda touched on “infrastructural features,” which will build upon what’s already available in the game. For example, Titanfall’s recently added Private Match will receive different customization options in future updates. Like Private Match, Respawn wants to bring these kinds of features out to the playerbase as early as possible via Beta form, so the studio can receive player feedback and update these features through possibly several iterations. There will also be competition-oriented features that’ll be implemented into Titanfall .

Aside from the features, the game will also be receiving a new Burn Card set, new Insignias, new gamemodes and gamemode variants. Respawn promises that it’ll keep you informed between the game’s updates, and it’ll introduce free updates on a regular basis.

Titanfall recently received a massive patch update on Thursday, April 10, adding a new Private Match feature to the game’s multiplayer, in amongst additional changes and fixes. Any further game modes added to Titanfall will be made available for free , and not as part of an DLC. The title’s first map pack DLC was released on Saturday, April 12, which introduces three new maps to Titanfall’s multiplayer roster.

Titanfall on Xbox 360 will run at 30 frames per second , and Respawn has implemented its anti-cheat system after collecting data on suspected cheaters in Titanfall’s multiplayer. Check out our Joshua Bruce’s review of Titanfall here .
