Bohemian-Vintage Tea Party Wedding: Amity + Jesse

Today’s wedding truly couldn’t be any sweeter. From the romantic palette of peach, blush, seafoam, and sage, to the handmade vintage-inspired design elements, to the intentional focus on “togetherness and warmth”, Amity + Jesse left no stone unturned in making sure their day was just right. With lots of help from Jaclyn of Two Little Birds Planning, these two were able to craft a celebration with a fun fusion of styles + a dynamic vibe. Pastels, seersucker suits, and charming found decor allowed them to execute their desired vintage tea party theme, while earthy elements helped to balance out the setting + bring in a playful, bohemian feel. Such a pretty juxtaposition, right? And aren’t we so glad that Emily Wren was there to perfectly capture it all!

We know you’re wondering about Amity’s lovely dress! That beauty was snagged from Ting Bridal on Etsy. We love how it really incorporated her + Jesse’s color scheme!

A bit about A + J’s ceremony from Jaclyn of Two Little Birds, Perhaps the most significant moment came at the end of the ceremony, when the guests were invited to wave prayer flags with custom blessings. Making them even more special, the prayer flags had been designed by one of Amity’s bridesmen and sewed and assembled by Amity and her parents. As family members read each of the seven prayers, Amity and Jesse took a step forward together under prayer flags that were strung across the aisle by birch poles.

A fun little DIY: Vintage spoon escort cards, which double as the perfect guest favor, too!

The tablescapes featured eclectic teacups, stacked and used in the centerpieces to hold petite arrangements of garden roses, peonies, dahlias, herbs, berries, and succulents. Glass cloches, antique books, vintage vases, antique lanterns, river rocks, moss, and mercury votives were seen not only on the guest tables, but scattered throughout the house topping mantles and decorating bookshelves.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

1) Don't sweat the small stuff. Remember that your goal is not to have a flawless wedding day, but to marry the one you love. (And no wedding is going to be flawless anyway, so you'll have to roll with it no matter what.)

2) Don't feel like a freak if you don't love every minute of wedding planning. No matter how excited you are to get married, there are bound to be parts of the process that feel like drudgery.

3) Don't be afraid to ask for help - the earlier the better - and then try not to micro-manage. Your loved ones may surprise you with their creativity and resourcefulness, and integrating their ideas can make the event an even more meaningful community affair.

4) Take some time to really be present with your new spouse and savor the moment, either after the ceremony or after the reception. The day will go by so fast! And don't worry if you feel a little let down when it's all over - just stay focused on the many more happy occasions yet to come!

5) If you can afford it, hire a great wedding planner!!!
