Description
Small Business X-Change meets regularly throughout the year at the Portage County Business Council office. A roundtable series of meetings that allows business owners and their employees the opportunity to discuss pertinent topics, learn from local industry leaders and, most importantly, learn from each other. This particular X-Change is targeted for small and medium size manufacturers, but every business is welcome.
There is no cost to attend and a continental breakfast is included.
7:30-8:30 am in the Portage County Business Council Foundation Room
“Communication and Leadership: Keys to Business Success”
This X-Change will cover why communication and leadership skills are important; how social media and electronic communication have become common place at the expense of human interface; the power of nonverbal communication; the benefits of voice and how to use them effectively in the workplace; and the Toastmasters communication and leadership tracks: How they work and how they can develop your personal skills and improve your business.
Participants will learn the following as a result of attending:
- Communication is 94% nonverbal. What are YOU saying?
- Deals are seldom made via social media – The value of human interface and why personal communication is key to running a successful business.
- Successful businesses need effective leaders. Here’s how.
- The power of the lectern – how to lead an effective meeting.
