This cat, affectionately named Cupid, was shot with an arrow in Stockton, and is expected to survive.

STOCKTON-

On Wednesday afternoon, somebody brought a cat into the Stockton Animal Shelter because of a very unique injury; the cat had been shot with an arrow.

The person found the cat near Sanchez Court and Argonaut Street in Stockton.

The arrow was in the cat’s face. It had narrowly missed her eye, and the shelter believes she had been shot several days before being brought into the shelter.

The veterinarian at the shelter took the cat straight into surgery, and was able to save the cat’s life. Though the arrow wound was several inches deep, the cat is recovering and does not appear to have any lasting effects from the shooting.

The young daughter of the veterinarian named the cat Cupid, and Cupid is expected to make a full recovery.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for shooting the cat. If you have any information about this crime, you can call Stockton Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600.
