The highly anticipated conclusion to an addicting series is here and boy did it end with a bang. Pun most definitely intended. You know what I love? When a series is perfectly wrapped up with a great conclusion without being cheesy and that's exactly what I loved about the third and final volume of A Desperate Man. We first met Evan in A Desperate Man: Volume 1 through only his POV, then we got to know Reagan in A Desperate Man: Volume 2 with her POV, so it was only fitting that volume 3 offers us a dual POV.
Evan and Reagan have been through quite a lot through the series, all of it leading up to the huge bomb of a reveal that these devious authors dropped on us at the end of volume two. And Volume three picks up right where that left off; in the aftermath of Reagan's...lie...and leaving both of them to deal with the ever growing passion that continues to brew between them, even if it may be slightly clouded by snark and barbs every now and then.
I don't want to give anything away about this book or the previous ones if you haven't read that, so allow me to be as vague as I can while telling you as little as possible and try not to hate me for it. I loved this book. I read it in pretty much one sitting and enjoyed every single dirty little page. The sex was as hot as ever, the connection between the H/h even stronger than before. But where the first two books gave a more shallow connection formed mostly on chemistry and passion, this book dug deeper, into the emotional side of things and really let you get to know the characters and fall for them.
But it never loses the spark either ;)
I couldn't imagine a better conclusion to the series than this book. The authors truly brought it a full circle and tied everything together. I loved the banter between Reagan and Evan almost as much as I loved when they tore each other's clothes off. It's not often a series will manage to keep me full engaged for longer than one book, and this one did it at 3. There was not one wasted page or needlessly stretched out moment. Perfectly put together, masterfully written, and sinfully erotic, A Desperate Man truly gives you a taste of the writing dual dynamite that is Ella and Brooke.

4.75 Desperate Stars
This last Volume has to be I think my favourite.
Here we have a Liar versus aSex addict, a past and a future colliding together . I don't want to give anything away so going to try and keep this review neutral. But this was about how they took control in more ways that one. You see how they heal, how they mend, how they connect and how they LOVE.
How they decide to take a chance and move forward.
What I loved In this volume was how they United and how the people around them pushed them together. There was a titge element of family and connections in this one.
I loved how Evan dominated Reagan and decided to take what was his, in his sensual ways but also his animalistic need for HER. Not just to have sex but for more and to love his own. I will say though that this was much more an emotional read for me. Being that book two left us with some realisations and Reagan becoming a liar. This was about a Broken man finding his way and a strong feisty heroine fighting back for what she's always wanted from the beginning.
The sex was HOT as EVER and also passionate and loving, They came full circle in this one. I have devoured this series this week and loved every bit of the journey. Its plot held me throughout and really in this last one I got a much deeper and emotional connection to both the Hero and Heroine. This was a sexy, intriguing, toes curling sexy read. And I'm looking forward to more from these authors in the future.

This story begun as something so wild, and filthy, and shocking...but it took an unexpected turn and ended up being one of the sweetest love stories ever.
It's tricky to manage a novella series. Keeping the anticipation of the readers up but not over-doing the drama, holding the spark between the characters but not letting it be all about sex...or letting it get all sticky with cheese is NOT easy. This series is a very good example of how they should be.
OVERALL: I couldn't have imagined a better way to finish Evan and Reagan's crazy story.

4.5 Liar versus Cheat Stars!
Gah! I loved this installment. Evan and Reagan go full circle in their lust/hate/love affair and it was perfect! After the events at the end of Volume 2, I wasn't so sure they could come back from themisguided feelings of lies and betrayal, but here we get their love story. And let's face it, hotness aside, I'm an incurable romantic at heart.
A Desperate Man caters to fans of that angsty fine line between love and hate kind of trope. Both Evan and Reagan feel betrayed by the other person yet their insane chemistry and physical need for each other was unstoppable. And holy mother of hate-f*cks...call it what you want...angry sex- it was SMOKING!
Yes, Evan is one arrogant son of a beech but SWOON! The man could charm the knickers off a nun! Seems no matter how strong the need Reagan had to look all calm, cool, and collected- it all went to sh*t under his spell. We all need an Evan in our lives!
A fantastic conclusion from a dynamic author duo! I'm looking forward to what Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine have in store for us in 2016 as their writing chemistry is seemless! A fantastic erotic contemporary serial romance that delivered it all- hot smoking alpha dirty-talkin' hero, strong minded, professional, confident heroine, angsty love/hate chemistry with a trickle fed plot that'll keep the pages turning. And, in the end, a fantastic love story that goes full circle....

À Desperate Man 2 left us hanging and begging for more. And believe me Ella &Brooke keep us hanging a little more.
Reagan and Evan love to hate each other.
They are still both a little mad at each other and their banter is hot AND funny

I loved seeing Reagan's vulnerable side. She is scared to get too attached to someone like Evan. Will she be enough?
Evan has to decide if he can recouncil who he is now and let himself feel.
His past still hold him back but will he get all the information he needs?

The sexual tension is still very much there and once they are over their "fight", them making love was simply THE BEST

In the third book of The Desperate Man series we got Evan and Reagan's POV. I loved this quick steamy series!
The last book left us hanging with Reagan's secret and also how she had followed Evan and realized she cared more than she knew she did. Evan feeling hurt because Reagan didn't trust him.
Not much to this one and I don't want to spoil it. If you read the first two I can't imagine that you wouldn't want to read this one to find out how the end goes or the beginning of two people in love should I say. lol
Two kids that have been searching for something their whole lives and never knew what until they are face to face.
Now why not a 5 star? Well I had a few questions that I felt were unanswered. Like why did Reagan change her name? Also why did Evan visit the hooker? Other wise I loved this series! EF knows how to steam up the pages! Evan and Reagan were both sexy and I loved them both!
“Oh it’s going to take much longer than five minutes. You can stop pretending you aren’t dying for it, Reagan. My fingers are practically dripping, and I haven’t even gotten them inside of your sweet cunt yet.”~Evan

I'm not sure if it was the long wait for the last book or just the buildup of anticipation since the first book but there was a definite letdown in this book for me.
The series starts out with a look at the ugly side of sex addiction and then slowly but surely, we get to know more about Evan as a person. What moves and motivates him and what drives these urges...maybe not enough detail but still engaging.
At the end of book two, Evan finds out about Reagan and he's not quite sure what to think. Of course, Reagan saw something and she is devastated.
I did like getting a lot of answers and seeing some resolutions...there was even a little twist concerning Bill that was interesting. What we didn't get was hardly any information about Layla. WTH? All that build up and nothing more!
However, the ending was quite nice. I liked how everything wasn't magically resolved...in more ways than one.

Well as it turns out, you can't extinguish a burning inferno of desire, passion, lust, and love when it comes to Reagan and Evan. I really don't want to say much and spoil the conclusion of the story, but I can tell you there is one big HOT sexual tension brewing between these two and of course if it wouldn't be a Reagan and Evan story without their banters with one another. All I can say go read this book, Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine will not disappoint you. They did a fabulous amazing job with this wickedly hot series. Of course I may be a bit bias, since I am seriously addictive to their books but trust me when I say that the writing and story line was sexy as hell.

This last part of Reagan & Evan's story is told from both their POVs.
The 2nd book ended with our darlings being mad at each other :/
Reagan was mad at Evan because she thinks he had sex with a prostitute and Evan is mad because Reagan lied to him from the beginning. He just found out that she's little Jennifer - the girl he played with when he was ten. Whose family his parents cheated out of lots of money.
Can all those lies and secrets and whatnots be overcome?
Can those two have a happy ever after with everything that's happened? Will a fun comment on a coffee cup be the start to making it all okay again? ☺ LET'S HOPE FOR THE BEST - because those two need to be together - they're perfect for each other!

A Desperate Man: Volume 3 (A Desperate Man #3) by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine
4.5 stars!!
This was a great conclusion to this series and one that I didn’t want to end. There were so many great lines in this book and I highlighted a tonne, testament to these authors’ writing ability. I have to say that I love these two as a writing duo, their work dynamic is like no other, normally one author takes one character and the other author takes the other but these two write as a cohesive unit. These two authors are so in tune with each other though that you cannot tell where one author started and the other ended, so seamlessly written and it has been like that throughout the whole series.
What I have loved the most about this series is that we have two alpha characters and while at first it was that hate/love/hate relationship because both were so head strong we have progressively seen them find middle ground and if I dare say it, grow up around each other. We had the flirty, the immature and while that continues somewhat in this book we actually see them get serious, they finally wake up and smell the coffee.
We have had Evan’s POV in Volume One, we had Reagan’s POV in volume two and in this one we get...both and this really cemented how finally these two had truly come together, it was like the authors telling you that this one was for keeps.
Volume three continues where volume two left off and for those of us that have read this series piece meal, what an ending we were left hanging from. This book is more about the aftermath, the moving on and the fun and flirty side progressing to a deeper, meaningful connection. Throughout this series we have seen that they have that connection in spades but they both just needed to wise up and also deal with their own insecurities and issues. We see a much more mature Evan and Reagan however the banter and witty barbs that made them, them, continues at full throttle always bringing a smile to my face or many a laugh out loud moment. When they weren’t sniping at each other they were tearing each other’s clothes off and as usual, these two can write a mean bedroom scene. Smoking hot sex scenes, an intense emotional connection and that fun and flirty banter made this series a real winner for me.
I cannot wait to see what this dynamic duo pen next, whatever it is, I will be there waiting to read it.

When they weren’t sniping at each other they were tearing each other’s clothes off and as usual, these two can write a mean bedroom scene. Smoking hot sex scenes, an intense emotional connection and that fun and flirty banter made this series a real winner for me.

Reagan and Evan are back! And after the last cliff hanger, I wasn’t so sure they would survive the fall! This is the last part in the series and was a really good conclusion to the story!
This is a hard review to write because I love their story, but I almost felt like part three was anti-climactic. I loved that they finally come to terms with _____ (hint: how part two ended), but there was so much it seems that was skimmed over or left out.
There is not as much heat in this book as there was in the last two, but there is healing and growth that occurs that couldn’t have happened if they were all over each other at every turn. However, I think scenes that are there are enough to set panties on fire! ~ Devlynn, 3.5 stars

I don't even know why I bothered. It was doomed from the start. I think it's because I love these two authors individually. I mean the writing is good and all but the plot, the characters drove me out of my mind. I wanted honest communication between the MCs. I wanted some apologies. It was very superficial and yes, dirty, of course. Not a bad thing. Just too much. It became tacky sometimes. Especially the overload of sexual innuendos.

The three parts to this serial have very different vibes in my opinion. The first is more darkish and depraved. The second has a lighter more playful feel. This final installment is about facing issues and finding out where the characters truly stand.
Evan and Reagan both have faults. One is a sex addict, and one is a liar. Reagan is as in her head as ever, and Evan is still trying to shake off his troubles. Underneath it all, they have a common history, but they have to decide if it is enough to see them into the future. Also they are figuring out if their combined problems are insurmountable or if love is enough to overcome all the bad.
Desperate Man Volume Three has elements of acceptance and understanding. I believe the authors did a good job of tying all the loose ends. This finale was satisfying. Readers are sure to love the banter between Evan and Reagan and their work toward happiness.

Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine set this entire series up brilliantly, and Volume 3, the conclusion to Evan and Reagan's story, was absolutely fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you thought that Volume 2 shocked you with all of the twists and turns that occurred, wait until you read Volume 3, because these 2 ladies were not playing around with this series...their revelations were masterfully played in this one!! This series went from me not truly understanding what was happening in Volume 1 and not knowing if I truly liked a story about a sex addict or particularly liking the heroine, to me absolutely loving the entire series and most especially Evan and Reagan, as well as wishing that this was not the end of their story. I want more!! Honestly, I fell in love with Evan and Reagan, and all of the trials and tribulations that they went through to be together just goes to show that if you truly love someone you fight for him or her. OMG are these two spicy together. There is never a dull moment when these two come together....heck, even apart they are still something else. They literally set the pages on fire in this series.
I also loved the way the story was told in the series. So, not only is this series well written, but the reader is able to get all sides of the story, since Volume 1 is told from Evan's perspective, and Volume 2 from Reagan's, and Volume 3 alternates between Evan's and Reagan's perspectives. The alternating points of view between each volume also allows the reader to get to see Evan grow as a character, because Evan has been through a lot and it has affected him tremendously, and definitely not always for the positive. Evan goes from being a man who cannot control his urges to a man who is willing to fight to become the man that Reagan deserves. And Reagan goes from being cold and mistrusting to being open, loving, trusting and Evan's support system.
I have to say the inclusion of Dr. Glover and Bill were excellent additions in this story. Actually, all of the secondary characters were fantastic and just as well developed as Evan and Reagan, and their presence added to the story's telling perfectly. Great job on this collaboration, ladies, and I honestly hope that Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine plan to collaborate again, because I cannot wait to read it when they do.

Evan and Reagan are one of those couples that take you by surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this volume, especially with the bombshell that was dropped at the end of volume two. I loved where Ella and Brooke took this story. I laughed a lot at Evan and Reagans antics.

After reading volume 1 and 2 I fell into the pages with no looking back.
I got carried away with Ella and Brooks "words" into an office full of sex and all things " good" .
I fell in love with all the characters & your love Doctor Glover ,Evans sex therapist.
Reagan and Evan's " filthy mouths " we're perfect and I loved every word mentioned.
So many parts that made me literally laugh out loud - shame it's finished .

After the way things ended in part 2, I wasn't sure how things were going to go with Evan and Reagan. Secrets and lies never turn out well, but boy oh boy I was Team Reavan!
It was a beautiful thing to watch this pair realise what they really were to each other, how much they wanted and needed each other.
The chemistry is off the charts. The attraction, the sexy times.
But can they forgive and forget? Get their HEA?
I adored how we got to learn more of their childhoods, more of their families, more of their connection.
I have loved this series by Ella and Brooke, and hope they collaborate more in the future.

Life is not pure happiness but when Evan chooses the right path, this leads him to Reagan girl from his past... she is smart besides being sexy and selfless but independent persona.. I adored her and her struggle for her friend and man who will future of her life..
I want spcially thanks to authors of these books.. thanks to them I believe that with a couple words you can create such a wonderful story while others didnt succes this with about 300- 400 pages.. I feel That I read lots of pages full of emotion joy and magic.....this is the ability to create world with a spesific story by choosing right words and matching them with a fantastic characters like Evan and Reagan...

I've loved the series since book 1 and I was kinda sad that the story of Reagan and Evan was ending!!!
Book 3 picks up just after we were left on the cliffhanger at the end of book 2.
At that point we had no idea what direction things were gonna go with this pair or if things could/would ever work out between them!!
One is a sex addict - though now that he's fixated on a certain co-worker he's trying to sort him out by seeing his therapist (the meetings with Dr. Glover are really quite funny at times - even though their about Evan overcoming his addiction! - the banter between doctor and patient is great). The other is a liar who can't open up and be honest with herself or anyone else!! What has her angle been all along??
The tension and heat between the couple was as hot and off the chart as ever, and the need that they both had but couldn't seem to voice out loud was there for all to see.

After waiting what seemed like years (but was really only a few of months), we finally get the conclusion to Evan and Reagan's story.
Let me tell you, it was WELL worth the wait!
Volume 3 picked up right where 2 ended: with Reagan and Evan being pissed and thinking the worst about each other.
Evan discovers that Reagan's been hiding something pretty big from him. Now he needs to figure out how to get over it and move on. We discover more of the past that caused him to be the way he was.
Reagan needs to figure out whether or not she can trust Evan, and not only with the truth but with her heart.
Ella and Brooke take us on a wonderful journey with Evan and Reagan. There are plenty of smoking hot sex scenes, but it's so much more than that. You feel yourself cheering our couple on, or getting mad when they are too stubborn to admit their feelings. And you rejoice in the playful coffee cup banter that makes a return.
Fences are mended, amends made. This was the absolute perfect ending to this series, and I'm sad it's over!

I was so excited to get this ARC last night. Even though I had one heck of a long day I read it all last night.
First I want to say how much I love these novellas and this story. The ending was great and tons of surprises I didn't see coming. These ladies are fantastic writers on their own and when they are together it is even better. I highly recommend you get this book and the first two volumes.
To be honest I can't sit here and say how much I love these books (which I do) with out also stating that I don't like serials. I've said it before and I know I've told lots of people that. So nothing has changed even though I loved these. Do I recommend you get them? Absolutely. Do I think they should be put into one book? Yes I do. That is just my personal opinion. I never read serials. I accept this one because it was Ella Frank who asked me and I already enjoyed her books and wanted to help her promote this. I ended up really loving the story. That doesn't change my personal opinion on serial stories though. But regardless of my opinion on the way it was put out I think everyone should check it out. These ladies did an outstanding job.

Ella and Brook together write one hell of an addictive read. Between the fast pace and witty banter I was caught up in the crazy world of Reagan and Evan. I loved that Reagan was no one's doormat. She was a strong, independent fierce female lead character! She gave as good as she got which totally had me cheering her on the entire time.
Evan..... Oh Evan!!! Where he was battling his demons and facing truth coming to light he could not deny that Reagan brought out the best in him and made him want to be a better person. FINALLY the 3rd in such a well written story about a very desperate man in the throes of an addiction that he desperately wants to conquer so he can have a meaningful but still VERY sexy relationship with the very sexy very captivating Reagan. Brooke and Ella KNOW how to write a female character which I think is desperately missing in erotic fiction right now. Reagan is the perfect woman for Evan because she isnt perfect. She is strong, capable, vulnerable and desperately in love and she is going to get her man. For a series these characters are so well developed, the story is so developed. In ADM3 Evan is definitely working through his issues ( the therapist is hilarious ) and you are so pulling for Evan to get his stuff together for himself mainly but also for Reagan. Such a fantastic story and would love to read more about these two because they are HOT for one thing but also because you really really fall in love with both of them.

At the end of Book 2, we learned the secrets Reagan has been hiding and the betrayal Evan felt. Can this two overcome what has been thrown in each others faces or will the betrayal and addiction be too much for them to forgive the other.
How can you not root for these two? I believe the secondary characters played a huge role in this final installment. From Troy to Bill to Dr. Glover, even Evan's mom, their insights made Reagan & Evan look beyond the surface, to trust what their heart was saying to them.
If you thought the sex and dirty talk was hot in the first 2 books, Ella & Brooke brought a volcano to the party & that it seems two can play that game rather well. Sure there was addiction, lies & betrayal but there also was recovery, truth & hope. Ella & Brooke weaved an amazing story with the hidden message that there is always - LOVE.

How can you not root for these two? I believe the secondary characters played a huge role in this final installment. From Troy to Bill to Dr. Glover, even Evan's mom, their insights made Reagan & Evan look beyond the surface, to trust what their heart was saying to them.
If you thought the sex and dirty talk was hot in the first 2 books, Ella & Brooke brought a volcano to the party & that it seems two can play that game rather well. Sure there was addiction, lies & betrayal but there also was recovery, truth & hope. Ella & Brooke weaved an amazing story with the hidden message that there is always - LOVE.
