Corinne Sommi found the back of the net five times, which included the golden goal in the 67th minute of action, to propel the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team to a thrilling 11-10 double overtime victory over Muhlenberg on Wednesday, Apr. 16 at Scotty Wood Field.

The Mules stormed back in the second half and managed to tie the game with 23 seconds left when Kayleigh Thies fired a shot past senior goalkeeper
Michelle Ammerman for an unassisted tally. Both teams found the back of the net in the first overtime session, as Swarthmore's Sommi and Muhlenberg's Stephanie Umbach each tallied goals to force another extra frame.
With the teams playing for a sudden victory, Sommi won the opening draw for Swarthmore to give the visitors the first opportunity to score. After a Muhlenberg foul, the Garnet senior blitzed through the Mule defense and netted the golden goal just 19 seconds into the fourth frame of the contest.
Ammerman played the entire game for Swarthmore between the pipes and made six saves, while Murphy contributed four caused turnovers and picked up five ground balls. The Mules, who outshot the Garnet 26-22 and had a 16-15 edge in ground balls, were paced by Umbach's game-high seven goals. She also won four draw controls, scooped up for ground balls and caused three turnovers.
