A second suspect is in custody after an alleged

homicide in Painesville Township in 2013

. Timothy M. Gaston, 25, was arrested last week in Tennessee and then extradited to Ohio where he was booked into the Lake County Jail on April 20, said Lake County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Frank Leonbruno. Gaston was arraigned in Painesville Municipal Court on April 21 and was charged with one count of murder. Judge Michael Cicconetti set bond at $1 million cash or surety. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 29, according to Painesville Municipal Court records. Gaston, of 416 Cross Creek Road in Knoxville, Tenn., allegedly participated in the shooting death of 23-year-old Matthew Hammond on July 26, 2013. On that date at about 3:51 a.m. Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at the Huntington Trailer Park at 5 Huntington Road, according to a news release from the day of the incident. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Hammond with a gunshot wound. The Painesville Township Fire Department took Hammond to TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township, where he was pronounced dead. Early investigation led authorities to believe two men forced their way into the mobile home, shot Hammond and then fled the scene, according to the release. On April 12, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office

announced the arrest of 21-year-old Marshaun M. Ligon of Painesville

. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office identified Ligon as a ‘person of interest’ in the homicide case and he remains in custody at the Lake County Jail on a separate contempt of court charge, according to jail records. Ligon has not yet been charged in relation to the July 2013 shooting, according to Painesville Municipal Court records.
