Where We Belong

Regret . . . she's a snarky little bitch.

I’ve tried several times to regret the events that took place on June 5, 2008, but for the life of me, I can’t. I'd never regret the pain, the suffering, or the heartache because it ultimately led me to the place I am now. And I can’t regret the place I am now. What I still can't figure out is this: how is it possible that the single worst day of my life inadvertently became the very best day?

Five years ago my life was irrevocably changed.

Seventeen minutes was all it took—
to lose my best friend…
to lose the love of my life…

Seventeen minutes was all it took for the seeds of hope—the seeds of my future—to be planted in the worst possible way.

My name is Harley Thompson, and this is my story.

I forgot that I read this train wreck. I don't know what I was thinking when I read this shit.

The h fell in love with the H he has a girlfriend and he's leaving town to follow his girlfriend she told him that she's in love with him but he's not, he's in love with his girl. she gets raped by his brother he comes back after five years and after a broken engagement she has a son from her rape.
He goes to his friend club he sees a beautiful girl there gets hard by this girl when he sees the h and he gets hard too for the h. He finds out that she was rape by his brother and accuses her that maybe she mistook sex for rape he said that he's brother couldn't have done that. the stupid woman forgives him. Like I said this is a fucking train wreck. They weren’t celibate he had a fiancé during the 5 years and she's sleeping with the H's friend Levi the Hero from book 2 that's just disgusting I don't know why it has good reviews.

If you like teen angst set to the tune of F'ing mid-late 20 something characters.....

description

If you can swoon over a guy that's been BFF with a girl his entire life, allows her to profess her undying romantic love for him, is so hypocritical that he gets mad at her for not doing it sooner, walks away from her heartbroken and drunk in a mf'ing alley to be raped, and then completely cuts her out of his life for FIVE f'ing years of total radio silence.....

description

If you can respect a chick that could take all ^that^ and let said guy prance back into her life as her "friend" five years later because she pinky swore when she was nine to always forgive him....

description

If you crave nonsensical, melodramatic, douchebag shit like a guy that comes back home to "get" the girl that got away, aka the girl he supposedly "loves," but then turns around and immediately ponders asking another hot girl out to help him forget (again) this great love because she might have a boyfriend....

Me? Well...

description

But, if your answers to the above are yes, then you'll love this book. Blessed be you•

I tolerated a lot of BS to get to 30% in this book because I love second chance romance and friends to lovers. So, I kept holding out for redemption.

But, my absolute last straw was this dude coming back for his second chance with the great love and friend of his life ONLY to immediately start eyeing some nurse as a potential fuck buddy just because the girl he is in love with might have a boyfriend. Did I say that already? I digress ~ the guy comes back after abandoning her for five years, and he turns right the hell around and ponders banging some other chick; true love, people!

description

F that! F him! F a bunch of teen angst set to professional grown ass characters! No thanks!

DNF CNWNF -COULD NOT, WOULD NOT FINISH

I was expecting sappy clean boring romance. Instead I got a surprise. Where We Belong offers a sappy romance with a twist. There is a trigger in the story about sexual assault but Miss Grayson did not represent it in graphic detail.

It has been a long week for me with a disappoinment at work. And lately I have been picking up a bad book. So when I listen to Where We Belong, everything seems alright again.

The chemistry between Harley and Tyson is sweet, sappy. This is a second chance romance, BTW. And Max is cute. I want to see more angst, more drama. But I settle for sappy romance right now.

Overall I do enjoy this book very much.

Harley was engaging from the start. We begin seeing her lay her heart on the line with her best friend, Tyson. Foolishly, perhaps, and she could have picked better timing. But it was endearingly done. And Tyson stomps on her heart and rejects her in as harsh a manner as possible. Okay, it could have been worse, I guess. I mean, he might have hit her or mocked her or something. But short of active malevolence, he couldn't have been more devastating. And then, while she's still reeling, someone finds her alone in a secluded place and rapes her (we don't see more than the lead-up on the page, but it's clearly violent and awful).

We pick up five years later and Grayson does a fantastic job showing how Harley has recovered (is recovering but stable if you like) and become a single mother with cracks, yes, but a core of strength that is beautiful and endearing. I loved seeing her interact with her son, Max, and the friends who stood by her. One such friend is not Tyson. That moron ignored her calls and the single voice message begging for his support. So he has no idea what has happened (which strains credulity a bit, but whatever) because he moved to New York after their confrontation. Only now he's back and really, really wanting to get back with Harley because he knows he made a mistake.

And that's kind of the problem. For someone who knows he made a mistake, he comes in with zero sense of making things better. He knows he devastated her, even if he doesn't know the full extent of what she went through that, while not his fault in any way, would make it extremely difficult for her to ever trust his sorry hide again. So he stumbles and blows some key moments and hurts her by misunderstanding some things. And I think the reader is supposed to sympathize with the bungler because he didn't know. And I'm all, "But he should have found out!" The first thing he should have done is find out everything he could about who she is now. The burden of ignorance is his to carry and it is his to rectify. He's the supplicant here. He should act like it. And he should start off with talking to her, seeing what things are important to her and who she is. Because five years, particularly in your early twenties, is a giant, long time and there's no way either of them are who they were before. So that's all on him.

I was still engaged with Harley, though. And her son. That only dimmed a little with how easily she ends up forgiving Tyson. I wanted her to make him work for it. To demand his respect. But she's all still mostly in love with the turd so she ends up falling in with him way too soon. Which is why he's able to hurt her again, even if he didn't mean to. And, of course, she's all forgiving again because she's still in love with him. Whatever. I bought their relationship, mind. I mean, Tyson does learn. Eventually. He isn't without the odd relapse and Harley's response at one point was way harsher than it needed to be so she had to learn to compromise a little, too.

So I guess what I'm saying is that Grayson put together a very engaging story with at least one protagonist that I really liked and the other who grew on me in time for the HEA to have impact. And she handled the very sensitive task of Harley's recovery in ways that resonated without overwhelming the story. Plus, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of the friend group so I'm glad this is the start of a series.

So yeah, 3½ stars that I can't quite bring myself to round up. And I'm really sad that I see no indication that her best friend, Quinn, gets her own story. And yes, it was very strange for me to see Harley and Quinn as best friends and I kept expecting Joker and Batman references that never materialized.

A weird episode of faith: While there is zero mention of actual faith and only a passing mention to having gone to church every Sunday before her attack, there's a very strong call to faith and God from her friend Levi in a flashback to a time shortly after the attack on Harley. It was a very touching call to faith and a surprising insertion given how it stood alone in this otherwise very secular story. I'm not sure why Grayson included it or what that was supposed to show and I'm stuck between wishing there had been more along those lines or that this part had been more in line with the rest of the novel.

A note about Steamy: There's a couple of explicit sex scenes that hit about the middle of my steam tolerance. The scene with Levi in the beginning that shows how they really are "just benefits" was a bit jarring. And I didn't really buy the ones with Tyson as anything but standard romance story sex. So the explicit bits were okay but not really meaningful. Which is a bit of a missed opportunity, I think.

This was a sweet read which had my intrigued all the way... I read this within a day.

The reason why I cannot give it 5 stars is because I don't think Ty should have been forgiven so quickly on what happened.
Also I hate that Levi was forgotten so quickly!!
anyone who reads this story will know what im talking about!

I'm not going to give the story line away as I think everyone should read it.

Other than that this was a sweet book and pretty predictable.

3.5 “pinky swear” “I love you, love you” Kisses

So…from the second I read the prologue to Where We Belong I knew I had to read this book. It wasn’t even a question…I needed to know the rest of this story. I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy journey…but I felt compelled to know Harley’s HEA…my heart needed it. K.L. Grayson did not have an easy job, but this story was compelling, the characters were fantastic and I really enjoyed Harley and Ty’s story.

Harley Thompson…my strong, gorgeous girl…where do I even begin with Harley? She is so many things but...above all, she is…a survivor. She has been through one of the most devastatingly tragic and absolutely horrifying things I can ever imagine…and she came out the other side. She didn’t let it control the rest of her life and even though she has a constant reminder of that night, she will not let it destroy her or her future. That to me is the definition of strength. She could have let that night define her, but the fact that she didn’t made me admire her even more. I enjoyed Harley…I connected with her in a sense, but not as much as I wanted to. She’s smart…a wonderful person inside and out…funny…and very likeable. She's brave and resilient...beautiful and kind...and even after everything she's been through, she hasn't lost sight of who she really is.

‘I wish I could say my journey to this happy place was an easy one, but I’d be lying. It was a bitch. My soul was tried and tested, along with the patience of the people I love more in my life. But with their persistence and support, I was able to find peace and smile once again.’

Tyson Grawe…mmmm Dr. Grawe, doesn’t that just sound sexier? Tyson is…definitely delicious…tall, gorgeous brown eyes and dimples…yum! I liked Ty, a lot…he’s sweet and kind and incredibly giving but…Ty has made some pretty big mistakes. Life changing ones...and I mean, don't get me wrong, no guy is perfect, but…that brings up another good thing about Ty - he is probably the king of redemption. He knows when he has fucked up and he recognizes it…apologizes for it…and atones for it. And that’s what I loved the most about Ty. Well…one of the things I loved most about him. Really…there is a lot to love about Ty, he’s a great guy…he’s caring, genuine and he really does have a big heart. He’s a doctor which means he’s insanely smart and…looks damn fine in scrubs. Ty’s the ‘just right’ kind of guy…he’s not overly alpha, but he turns it on when he needs to…he’s romantic and charming when the time is right but isn’t sappy or over the top…and good sweet lord does he have a sexy, dirty mouth on him. I can’t blame Harley for falling for Ty…it’s easy to do…

“Give me one reason,” I state firmly. “Give me one reason why I should forgive you for walking away from me and our friendship so easily. One reason why I should forgive you for abandoning me at the darkest time of my life.”
His response is immediate. “Because you promised to always forgive me.”
I throw my hands in the air. “I was nine,” I shout in frustration.
He shakes his head. “It was still a promise,” he says.

Soooo…Harley and Ty have my absolute, hands-down kryptonite…they’re best friends. Have been since they were little…known each other their whole lives…been through the good, the bad and the ugly…and that’s the kind of stuff that I can’t and never will get enough of. The flashbacks to their childhood…OMG…you don’t even know. I almost wanted more of their past because it helped me get a better understanding of who they were before…everything. I knew after the way Ty and Harley’s friendship was left after ‘that night’ that he wasn’t going to come back to town and have everything go back to normal…but damn…talk about some angsty goodness. I was pleasantly surprised at how unexpected the angst was…I mean, there are the typical and obvious choices, but I was really happy to see that K.L. did keep me on my toes and changed it up. And at least with all that angst, the pay off when Harley and Ty finally do get together was well worth it. Hot damn…they’re sinfully and deliciously sexy together…then again after how many years of want and desire…having it all finally happen, there better be some fireworks…and there were.

‘My eyes burn at the memory and I swallow hard. “That was the best summer for me, and that memory stands out above all the others.”
He tilts his head. “Why? I meant it was sort of uneventful. Fun, but uneventful.”
“Because you picked me first,” I reply wistfully. Tyson watches me carefully, his milk-chocolate eyes searching mine. I can tell he’s trying to remember, but it’s not clicking. “And, it’s the first time you told me I was your best friend.”
“You remember that? Why don’t I remember that?” he asks disappointedly.
“You didn’t care what any of the other kids thought.” I smile as the memories flood my mind. “Later that same night, we were sitting on the porch swing and I asked you why you chose me. You looked at me like I had asked the stupidest question and you said, ‘Because you’re my best friend.’ That moment was – is – so special to me. I’ll never forget it.”’

The book is told from dual POV…which worked for me, there was a little overlapping/re-telling of certain scenes which can sometimes get repetitive and overdone, but I thought it was handled well. This was never going to be an easy book to write but I think K.L. did a fantastic job with the way she handled the characters and the emotions and I appreciated that. And it is a very emotional book…much more so than with just what happens to Harley…because she is far from the only one affected by the actions of that night. The entire story is very engaging…it flows really well, and considering I read the whole thing in less than 24 hours…I can definitely testify that it was hard to put down. There were a few parts that I wish we had seen more of…with as much as Harley and Ty had been through, all the angst…I really enjoyed their happy times and there were a few we’re briefly told about and I would have rather seen those moments. Those little moments of reconnection...learning who they are after five years apart...it would have solidified them that much more for me.

‘This moment can’t possibly be any more perfect. At least that’s what I thought, until I feel his lips brush against mine for the first time.
Now it’s perfect.
His soft lips brush against mine once…twice…and a third time before he pulls his head back a fraction, waiting for me to open my eyes. I lift my heavy lids to find him watching me with open wonderment, and the words that flow from his mouth make my heart soar.
“I’ve been waiting for this kiss for the past five years, and I want you to know that it hasn’t completely happened and it’s already the most amazing kiss I’ve ever had.” With those final whispered words, he proceeds to rock my fucking world.’

If only Harley and Ty were the only two I loved out of this…but alas, I couldn’t help but fall in love with a few other characters. First of all…there’s Max. Now…Max is a pretty crucial part of the story, but I don’t want to give away who he is because finding that out, for me, was a huge woah moment…so I don’t want to spoil that for anyone else. Needless to say, I couldn’t help but love him and I loved what he brought to the story and to Harley and Ty. Then we have Levi and Quinn…Harley best friends. Quinn is…comedic relief as well as being Harley’s right hand woman for pretty much anything and everything. She’s insanely strong…but she definitely has her own story that we get bits and pieces of…I can only hope she’ll get her own book. Levi is another one I’m dying to get more of…I will beg K.L. for his book. He’s a huge part of the first half of the book…he’s Harley’s rock and basically is the reason she got through some very dark parts of her life but after Ty comes into the picture…Levi disappears and that made me sad. Just like Quinn, he totally has a juicy story to tell…and I’m dying to know it.

“You are the strongest, most amazing woman I’ve ever met,” he mumbles against my lips.
“You forgot kind, beautiful, spectacular…” His mouth tilts over mine in another kiss, this one so powerful that my entire body trembles. When he finally pulls away, I’m left heaving and breathless. He rubs his nose against mine before kissing it softly.
His sweet breath fans my face when he talks. “I’m fairly certain the world hasn’t yet discovered the word that best fits everything that you are, Harley.” I smile against his mouth, kissing him again and again. I love that I can do that whenever the hell I want.
“You’re perfect.” His words are soft, firm, and they’re the sweetest words I’ve ever heard. “I love you, Harley, so much.”

Alright so Where We Belong is a standalone…and Harley and Ty’s story does end with a wonderful, beautiful, well deserved HEA that I adored. But it is a part of the Belong Series…and as I already said…I am super excited for a few spin offs. The build up is there and with those characters, I cannot even imagine the goodness that awaits us. :-) K.L. Grayson is a fantastic writer and she definitely hooked me with Harley and Ty’s beautiful story of love, forgiveness and moving forward.

Regret...she's a snarky little bitch.

This story is about love, forgiveness, and above all REGRET...and let me tell you one important thing, I DID NOT REGRET reading it. It is kind of difficult to make a review out of this story without divulging too much information, but let me tell you that this is one hell of a story with a fantastic character development and a book that will leave you swooning.. for days.

K.L.Grason has an incredible, captivating writing style that puts you right into the characters's heart, you care and suffer for them.

I
LOVED

This story with every fiber of my heart because it portrays a kind of "forever love" that everyone believes in or wants to believe in .

All you have to do is read this novel, you won't regret it ❤.

i highly recommend it

Harley and Tyson have been best friends since they were little babies! Harley decides its time to let Ty know that she had feelings for him beyond friendship. When she is finished pouring her heart out, Ty walks away from her and never looks back. Harley is left in utter despair. When someone she knows walks up to her, Harley can't help but run to him for comfort. Even though she knows he is not the same guy he once was, and what happens next should have never happened.

Tyson walked away that day but he never forgot Harley. He wanted to take her in his arms and hold her and tell her things. but he had signed up for med school in NY with his girlfriend and he could not drop all of that, he thought. So he left and did not look back at Harley. One of the biggest mistake of his life.

Now 5 yrs have passed, and Ty just walked back into town and wanting to make amends with Harley. So much time has passed and so many feelings and words have been unspoken! Can Harley forgive Ty for walking out on her and their friendship?! Can Ty accept Harley's secret? So many unanswered questions.

What a delightful book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story of Harley and Tyson. The challenges that Harley has to overcome was so well written. As you read this story, you can feel her pain, her sorrow, her joy and most of all you can feel her love for the man she has known all her life! Ms. Grayson knocked it out of the park with this book! Not only do you form a connection with Harley and Tyson that's so overwhelming, you find yourself crying or smiling or even throwing your hands in the air and dancing with excitement.

I was so angry with Tyson, I did not understand why he would turn his back on a friendship that was 20 plus years. I was yelling at my kindle please go back and check her you jerk! but I guess if he did it would be a whole different book! I recommend this book for 18+ it has some steamy hot love scenes that you can't miss.
I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.

This is one where you will have to read for yourself. Because some pieces of it seriously bugged me, while I found the rest very good. The writing was good, the editing good, the storyline good as well. I just couldn't forgive Ty for the mistakes he made in the beginning. If Levi gets a story next, then I will certainly read more from this series and will look for more from this author in the future.

This book makes me sick. The way it portrays rape is disgusting. Because "I got raped less than three weeks ago but I'm just gonna make out with this other guy bc whatever" never actually happens. Does the author even know the emotional scarring and horrid memories that go along with being raped? And I just love how the main character says "I'd be raped a million times if I ended up with my kid" like wow. And then when the love interest starts to doubt that she was actually raped, accuses her of lying about it, and says that the rapist would never actually do that, she kicks him out. Which is perfect, I'd kick him out too. But then her "best friend" convinces the main character that it was a mistake to kick him out, and that she was in the wrong. Wow. This is one of the worst books I've read in a long time.

Not for me. She forgave the hero too easily. Lusting after him the moment he came back to town after 5 years abandoning her. No grovel. She was raped by his brother and hero ignored all her calls afterwards. He chose his girlfriend at the time. Heroine confessed her love for him, but he decided hurting his girlfriend would be more painful than hurting the heroine by leaving her. She was raped straight after he left. He notices her not coming back from the alley but leaves with his girlfriend hand in hand anyway. I would’ve enjoyed this, if there was grovelling and a jealous hero because she had a friends with benefits situation with his best friend. Doormat heroine. She didn’t make him grovel at all. Blaims herself for everything and ends up apologising to him. He doesn’t believe his brother could’ve raped her. He wasn’t like that, he was a good guy, didn’t she misinterpreted things, was she sure it was rape?? What the f….. 🤬 I thought she would grow a backbone for a second by throwing him out. But noooo, she’s the one apologising to him again. This book failed me on so many levels.

Safrety: One on page sex scene with OM (he gets her off in the bathtub, no intercourse), no cheating, no OM drama, slight OW drama. Heroine had a fwb with hero’s best friend. Hero is a douche and flirts with OW, but doesn’t see this as flirting 🙄 He chose his girlfriend 5 years ago, was in a serious relationship with her and even proposed. He came back for the heroine 5 years ago after his brothers death and saw her with his best friend and assumed she moved on. When she hears this she AGAIN blames herself. Girl, he’s the one that dropped you and chose OW, she shouldn’t feel guilty at all!

Did you ever have that one friend you grew up with that you secretly crushed on but knew you would ruin things if you made your feelings known?  A relationship where the friendship was worth so much more than possibly changing things for the worse?  Well, this is Tyson and Harley's story.  They had been friends through childhood and basically did everything together.  But.......Harley is harboring some serious feelings for Tyson and when he tells her he's moving with his girlfriend across the country to continue college, she breaks down and tells him her true feelings!  I hated Tyson's reaction to it! But I guess he was a little surprised, caught off guard, and felt he had made his plans for the future and didn't want to hurt his current girlfriend.

The beginning of this book had me.....I was invested! What happens to Harley after Tyson leaves is not only devastating and tragic, but it changes her life in a huge way!  The fact that she tried reaching out to Tyson, but he continued to ignore (or push her out of his mind) killed me!  She had no choice but to move on and she did.

Her friend, Levi, was her rock!  (He was also Tyson's friend in the past).  I loved Levi!  He was caring, patient, and completely there for Harley when she really needed someone.  He helped her through the pain and heartache.

When Tyson suddenly returns home, I was pissed!  Did he think he could just come right back into Harley's life and everything would be okay??!??!  NOOOO!!  He needed to fight for it and do some major ass-kissing!  This is where the book lost me.......I am an Italian woman who holds a grudge!  LOL!  So, I was basically still holding a grudge against Tyson.  I could not get past it!  And then I was really upset when Levi seemed to suddenly disappear from Harley's life after being such a major part of it for FIVE YEARS!!  WTF?!!?

But, if you read the book, you can see where things go with these two.  There are some secrets and a surprise for Tyson which he refuses to believe, and that just hurts Harley more.  Anyway, when Tyson does find out what Harley went through, his reaction gutted me!  Ugh it was so sad....

One thing I seriously loved without giving any spoilers......Max!!!!  He was amazing and I really loved his birthday gift to Tyson!  And then Tyson's gift to Harley in the end.....so cute!

For this to be the author's debut novel, I must say this is a great beginning for her!

I immediately downloaded Pretty Pink Ribbons!!!!! LEVI'S STORY!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!

Yikes! I’m sad to say that this book was a bit of a train wreck 🙈 A few times I tried to talk myself into just giving up but I gave it the benefit of the doubt because I absolutely LOVE this authors “Dirty Dicks” series...but alas, there was just so many things wrong with it.
If you have any triggers - specifically rape, then I suggest you steer well clear of this one. I just can’t get over some of the things that happened within the storyline and how they were dealt with, and the characters themselves were just a hot mess. Really disappointed because I think it could have been amazing.

I absolutely LOVED this debut novel. KL touched my heart on so many different levels.
Her writing style is fantastic, and I felt every single emotion the characters felt. There was anger, heart ache, tears, laughter, everything imaginable.

My heart broke several times, not only for Harley but for Tyson. This book made me think too, about what I would do if I were ever in Harley's position.

The story flowed beautifully and seamlessly. I can't wait to read more by KL Grayson in the future.

*ARC kindly provided by the author for an honest review*

I don't give out five stars to books lightly .... but oh my goodness .... five stars all the way.

Now hear with me through this review, because I am just so excited about so much that I might not be able to make flow as nicely as I want. But I WILL get it all out there.

First of all, the prologue ... I was sucked in from the prologue. I even stopped and updated my goodreads to say I loved the book after that. That was it for updates, because I just couldn't stop after that. Ain't nobody got time for updates when a book is this good and you want to take every second to read just one more sentence. So anyhoo ... The prologue sucks you in and gives you this look into the dynamic of the book and allows you to feel the devastation of losing so much more than a friend. I'm not going to lie, I did not see that coming. Uhg, and when Tyson is driving away wondering where Harley is, you just want to be like "STOP!! GO BACK!!!" It was heart breaking without really going into detail. I feel like sometimes authors will rip this sorrow from you by going into more details. And when they do that, well of course your going to feel horrified. But for this author to get those same emotions if not more from not giving too many details ... I'm in awe. And that is really the amazing thing about this book. She doesn't need to be graphic to get the emotions from you ... she just writes and I'm drawn into the story.

Another thing I love; sometimes an author will have this big secret and you can kind of guess what it is, but the reveal is at the end. Grayson just keeps giving you more and more, so your not so anxious to discover the secret that you just want to figure it out already. It's like this book has these explosions that just keep moving this book along. It flows so well. Each piece of information is vital and enjoyable and satisfying to keep you going, but feel like you know what is going on. It is just a really mature book.

Gosh! I haven't even started on the characters!!! Harley .... I love her. She is strong and beautiful and I love her.

"I wish I could say my journey to this happy place was an easy one, but I’d be lying. It was a bitch. My soul was tried and tested, along with the patience of the people I love most in my life. But with their persistence and support, I was able to find peace and smile once again."

If I wasn't into this book before ... well I was after that quote. I think I wanted to be her. Did I mention that this book was written with an epic amount of maturity. She was an honest and true character. I believed her. She was hurt by waht happened and she had honest reactions when it was brought up, but she wasn't traumatized by it and dragging it around with her, letting it pull her down. She was so positive by looking at Max and seeing the silver lining. I loved that she wasn't afraid of her sexuality and being a woman. I'm glad that her character was based on her building relationship with Tyson and not surrounding this entire tragic event. And Tyson ... whew ... what a man's man. He was also and honest and true character. He was honest about his choices, mistakes and reactions. You could tell he was just a typical guy and I liked that. He was some damaged man that needed to be fixed and Harley fixed him. No, they had both reached a point in their lives when they were ready for each other. I think that is what I liked about this book ... it wasn't about fixing each other, it was about just being together and making a future despite the past. By the way Tyson was funny when he got sentimental ...

"My knees bounce nervously under the table. I stare at my phone for a full minute before I realize what I'm doing. Jesus Christ, when did I grow a fucking vagina?"

He mentions his "vagina" frequently ... and I laughed every time. You definitely get that he is a strong guy. So when he discovers the what, how, and why of what happened to Harley, his reaction is epic. It was probably the hardest part of the book. Oh my goodness ... tears you guys ... I had tears. I am not a crier, but it was just so sad to see him fall apart. On the flip side ... the sex scenes were steamy and well worth the wait ...

"“I’m going to take my time with you," he whispers, his breath warm on my skin as he lowers himself between my legs. I squeeze my eyes shut, a harsh moan falling from my lips when I feel his tongue slide across my apex, mere inches from my core. His hands spread my lips apart and I wait for him to devour me. “Watch. Me,” he growls and my eyes snap open. With a devilish grin on his face, he lowers his lips to my clit. The pad of his tongue slides down my core. My toes curl and my heels dig into the bed. With each lick and every suck, my moans grow louder."

Whew!!! *fans face*

Finally the side characters ... I loved them. Quinn is my favorite and I hope and pray she gets her own book. She is another strong woman, and we need more awesome books about strong women. Also, Levi, I feel in love with him in the beginning and I kind of wish he didn't fade out towards the end. I was expecting to see more about their relationship. I hope he gets his own book too.

Okay, okay, I'm done. I could write more but I'm just going to say this ... GO BUY THE BOOK!!! It's worth it and you will love it. This is one of my new favorites! I'm so thankful that I was able to stumble upon it! Enjoy!!!

+++ 5 'SECOND-AND THIRD-CHANCE' STARS!!! +++

Where We Belong is a beautifully written story of friendship, loss, survival, love, second chances, and personal growth.

There are moments in life that could mark us and we either let it conquer us completely or we find the strength within ourselves to overcome it. K.L. Grayson did a phenomenal job in portraying such life altering situations. She showed us the grittiness and darkness of the topic she chose to make her own by turning it into so much more. I loved these characters so much and I’m glad to have been a part of their journey.

Harley and Tyson have been best friends since they've been in diapers. They just graduated college and are about to embark on this new chapter in their lives, but Harley needs to tell Ty her true feels before he moves to New York with his girlfriend. You can imagine how that ends. Not well. Not only is her heart shattered, but Harley goes through a life changing event that night, that leaves her numb and broken.

Fast forward 5 years. Ty returns back home. He’s a resident doctor at the same hospital that Harley works at and he’s on a mission to get Harley back. He’s always loved her, but like all men he was an idiot. Harley of course is conflicted. This man whom she loved dearly broke her heart 5 years ago; ultimately abandoned her in a time that she needed him the most. This part of their journey also had me conflicted. I hated Tyson for what he did and yes, there were moments I wanted to slap Harley silly too. It took a lot for me to ultimately forgive Tyson and he surely redeemed himself at the end, but my heart still remains in Levi's hands all the way lol.

Now I don’t want to say more because there is so much to this story and I can't risk spoiling it for you but this book will leave you shocked, heartbroken, and frustrated. At the same time you’ll fall in love with these beautiful characters and become part of their world, part of their story. For a debut novel, K.L. Grayson did a wonderful job and I am excited, I literally can not wait to read Levi’s book!

5 AMAZING DEBUT STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is an emotional, smart, beautiful, heartbreaking and inspiring story of healing and love, of second, and third, chances and forgiveness.

Wow! I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this fabulous debut novel and I loved every single minute of it. It's one of those stories I could not put down, not only because it's so well-written, but because I just needed to know, everything.

•••I am going to write this review spoiler free because even though the epilogue gives a good idea of what is going on and the prologue definitely covers most of the plot, the unraveling and telling of the story is what makes it and I don't want to ruin that for anyone.•••

Where We Belong was riveting! Like I-could-not-put-it-down-and-read-well-past-my-bedtime engrossing. From the very first page I was hooked! The plot pulled me in right away. The writing style flowed effortlessly. The characters were well-developed and believable, funny and entertaining. They were genuine good people with hearts and brains. No backstabbing or lying. The dual POV of Harley and Tyson was exactly what the story needed. I might not have liked Tyson as much as I did if I wasn't able to know his thoughts.

I can't believe that I ever thought I could actually walk away from this... from her. I should have fought for Harley. The second she told me she loved me, I should have wrapped her in my arms and accepted what she was offering - her heart. Instead, I threw it back in her face, making her feel like she did something wrong. The fact of the matter is that I was a scared little shit.

This book is also very thought-provoking. And I'd like to think that I would have handled everything the way Harley did, with grace and dignity. Coming to terms with the past and accepting the beautiful gift that came from the worst night of her life.

I will say I wasn't too sure about this book. And boy am I excited about this book after reading it!
After starting the book, I wasn't sure what to expect. But as I continue reading I got sucked in. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next.

Harley and Tyson have such a chemistry. They've been friends forever. Harley wanted to it out to Tyson she wanted more than friends. He was in a relationship and couldn't reciprocate. He left her and hen everything changed!

After being away to attend medical with his girlfriend, Tyson finds himself back home. Harley is still there working as a float nurse. Ty is there to start his residency. Of course, they are going to cross paths at some point!

Tyson is really awesome. He lays it all out for Harley. His feeling, expectations and what he wants from her. Of course, Harley is hesitant but she has her reasons.

Their chemistry is really fantastic! They really connect well with each other. This book flows so well. This is truly one compelling story!
Circumstances come up from the past and they need to figure things out not only on a personal level but as a couple as well!

I will tell you that you should one click this book! You will not be disappointed!!

This book was absolutely incredible! I can not believe this is the Author's Debut Book. This was a Second Chance love story that will blow your socks off. I cried, I laughed, I felt sick to my stomach, I felt over joy, I wanted to kiss the book when I was done.

What I really loved about this book, it's felt like a real story, the whole time I was reading it I felt I was reading a real life story. The way the characters reacted to situations, was so believable it was not over the top dramatics.

This book dealt with a really tough issue, and did it beautifully. I think this book is going to be a success and you all need to read this!!

*Audiobook Review*

Where We Belong was a gut-wrenching story about two soul mates finding their way back to one another. It was emotional and deep and beautifully written.

The narration was outstanding. The narrators had me feeling everything the book wanted me to feel.

Not only did this book break all my feels, it was engaging and kept me thinking just one more chapter.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. To read more reviews like this one, check out Obsessive Book Nerd!

A great friends to lovers story. Harley and Tyson have been the best of friends their entire life. After graduating college Harley decided to confront Tyson on her true feelings. With their story you get drama, heartache, it shows true friendship bonds and forgiveness. I would of liked to get a bit more on Levi. I felt toward the end he was somewhat pushed aside and not mentioned. After all he was there for Max since the beginning and they did have a bond. That was my only issue.

Feeling a bit meh about this one. I had high expectations but I felt like so much was glossed over. I wanted the repercussions of the events. Wanted to see how Harley navigated through it all. And this is probably the unpopular opinion but I did not want a Tyson/Harley romance. I was rooting for Levi. He was the one that stay.

Basically the whole book fell flat for me.

Ty and Harley were best friends since they were kids, now graduating graduating college. She harbors a secret...she is in love with him, has been for a while. He also has a secret, he is leaving to go to grad school in NY, with his girlfriend. With liquid courage she tells him his secret after learning his. He doesn't take it well. He ends the friendship, walks away from her. After he leaves, she sits outside the bar and the worse night of her life is about to get even badder.

Now, 5 years later, he is back. She has finally put the pieces of her life back together. The worse night of her life, turned into the best. She has unconditional love, in Max. In her two closest friends. When she sees Ty the old feeling are there but she doesn't trust he wont destroy her again. He will need to fight for the girl he never should of left. He will need to deal with her demons that he knows nothing about, he will need to accept Max in her life and he will need to bury the past to have a future.

I learned after this was the authors first book? Wow, amazing writing for a first novel. Great flow, great story line, character you fall in love with.

~~4 HEARTS~~

This is my first book by this author. I love stumbling across a new author that takes my attention hostage. She did a great job at dangling the carrot in front of the rabbit. I had my assumption on the monster that raped Harley early on. I was waiting to see how all the stores unfolds.  I'll have to say, I wasn't disappointed.

Holy Sh*t where do I start? This book took me on a roller coaster ride and I did not want to get off. Not many authors can make me feel everything KL did, In fact I became a zombie over this book: this is one of the books that you just can't put down and you forget to eat and you try not to sleep to finish it. The first night I picked it up at 3am and ended up having to go to work on no sleep (which was a nightmare) that same day I kept reading at work hoping no one would catch me (literally, I took bathroom breaks to READ in the bathroom) and that same night after being exhausted I fell asleep at 91% bc I wanted to read but after pushing myself so hard I couldn't take it. Now I'm up at 8am on my day off finishing it and reviewing it. Yup, I'm a zombie over this book but it is worth it). EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS!!! KL is able to portray such amazing, genuine, lovable characters that from the beginning you connect with them. Harley is a survivor, there's no other way to describe her. Tyson became that one character that you love to hate but really you only hate him bc you love him so much and don't know how else to deal with the emotions (does that make sense? It does in my head). But not only are the protagonists amazingly portrayed, the secondary characters are as well! Quinn is the best friend we all have (and if you don't have one in your life it means that YOU are the Quinn to your friends) seriously, she is a rock that's there through the good and the bad and she is absolutely wonderful. Max is the sweetest kid in the world, he's the kind of kid that makes you want to think about having babies if you already don't (like in my case). Avery is a sweetheart, a strong female character with determination which is refreshing bc KL is able to show that not all women are conniving bitxhes but instead some are willing to step aside and help a fellow woman be happy. Harley's parents are the true representation of family (or at least what family is supposed to be like) they're supportive, they would do anything for their daughter and they spoil their grandson rotten! And Levi? Well, let's just say that Levi is the love of my life, the one character who's book I've yet to read but I am dying to. There's not one thing I don't love about that man and I'm so obsessed over him that waiting for this spring is going to drive me crazy. To wrap this up quickly; everyone needs to read this book. It's a book about the second (and third) chances that we all deserve in life, it's a book about love and hardships that come with love, it's a book about the struggle to make it through life after you've felt like you can't go on and it's a book that'll make you tear up from sadness as well as from happiness. Thank you KL for sharing this wonderful story with us. This book will forever be one of my favorites, you've made me cry and you've made me smile, you've given me the best roller coaster ride and I cannot wait for the next one! I'm not getting off this roller coaster any time soon!
