This subreddit sings the sexy praises of the forearm

This subreddit proves that sexy is truly in the eye of the beholder.

The Internet has a place for every fetish, including individual male body parts that aren’t the penis, or even the pectorals. In fact, the body parts women (and gay men) find sexiest may not have even occurred to the objects of their desire.

For example, men’s forearms. When in the missionary position, the forearms provide a nice strong view of a guy’s muscles. When they’re working out, watching the veins in their arms pop is nice, if a bit shallow. Evolutionarily, good, strong forearms probably show a dude’s health and virility. As a caveman, those forearms could carry you off. But when writing this article, most of the men I asked had no idea their forearms were fetish objects or that women even noticed a good forearm vein. In contrast, most of the women said that though they hadn’t first thought of it, now that I mentioned forearms, they were totally sexy on their own.

Reddit’s new-ish subreddit for ladies and gents to drool over features the male forearm, very specifically the length between the man’s wrist and his elbow. R/forearmporn is a gathering place for more than 4,200 subscribers, all fans of the forearm as a sexy piece of man muscle.

Posters can submit photos of their forearms in various poses, for the fans on the subreddit to comment on. Some show their arms at the gym, veins bulging. Some cradle kittens. Some cross their arms for increased definition.

The tagline of the subreddit is simply, “Men have nice forearms.” It’s supposed to be safe-for-work photos only and the description reads, “sleeveless shirts and rolled-up sleeves are the way forward.”

Straight men use the site for workout inspiration. Women use it to stare at their favorite male body part. On one post, a female user wrote, “I would be all over that man in a hot second if ever given the chance. You know… after asking nicely if I can touch his cough ‘forearm,’ of course.”

The more popular posts seem to feature the user’s forearm vein—the bigger the better.

R/forearms isn’t the only subreddit devoted to singular male body parts. Reddit also has r/chesthairporn and r/beardporn, where users can gawk at particularly good man carpets. There’s also r/bignosedboysr/calfmuscleporn, r/majesticmanes, r/cuteguybutts, and a full NSFW list of body part worshipping subreddits. There’s, of course, the obvious r/penis. There’s even a NSFW sub for visible veins under pale skin for both men and women. Reddit may soon have a subreddit fetishizing every nonsexual limb and organ. The subreddits featuring dudes are off-shoots of r/ladyboners and r/ladybonersgw, where men pose in various states of undress.

Tumblr too has a thing for men’s forearms. There’s a blog called FYeahForearms dedicated to photos of celebrities with particularly veiny or hairy forearms. The blog’s owner writes in the about description, “This is my celebration of a truly underrated body part.”

There are also tracked tags for “forearms” and specifically “forearm porn.” Tumblr users, mostly women, proclaim forearms as a full-blown “kink,” with one explaining “You know how some people see an ass, a bulge in the pants, or maybe some cleavage and instantly get excited? Thats how I feel about a male’s forearm.” Another wrote, “A great set of abs is nice. A great pair of forearms is fucking magical.”
