TORONTO – Believe it or not, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) network of buses, streetcars and subways has been voted the best transit system in Canada.
Honestly.
The ranking was issued by Walk Score, an American group that, among other things, evaluates the transportation available and walkability – or how close people are to amenities and infrastructure – in cities across North America.
And according to Walk Score, Toronto has a better transit system than Montreal and Vancouver.
Walk Score scores a city’s transit by giving each route in the city a score based on service, type of transit and the distance from other routes.
Toronto scored a 78, just beating out Montreal and Vancouver which scored 77 and 74, respectively.
It’s not known if Walk Score perused some of the photos of TTC delays posted on Twitter.
