Poll: Jose Mourinho insists Chelsea are 'a little horse that needs milk' in title race - so who will win Premier League?
Jose Mourinho continues to write off Chelsea's title chances despite their 1-0 win over Manchester City, but who do you think will be crowned champions in May?
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho continues to 'horse around' and be dismissive of his side's title chances this season.
Yet Chelsea's win by a nose at Manchester City on Monday night saw Mourinho's side draw level with Manuel Pellegrini's side as they completed the double over their rivals and close the gap on leaders Arsenal to two points.
While Mourinho was lauded by the media for masterminding City's fall (it was the first time they had failed to score at home since November 2010), the Portuguese insists Chelsea will not win the title this season.
His assessment of the title race was typically Mourinho.
"Two horses and a little horse that still needs milk and to learn how to jump. A horse that next season can race," he said.
"I don't agree (with their growing title credentials). We lost points at home against West Brom, against West Ham, we lost at Stoke, we lost at Newcastle.
"We are a team in evolution but this is the kind of performance that helps the team to grow up a lot, tactically, mentally, I think it was fantastic."
Despite an away trip to Anfield to come in late April, Chelsea have a relatively straightforward run-in to the end of the season, facing a number of sides in the lower reaches of the table and battling relegation.
Manchester City, meanwhile, face back-to-back dates with Arsenal and Manchester United in late March, while Arsenal have a tough early February (against Liverpool and Manchester United). Their trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday March 22 could be key to the title run-in.
