ENID, Okla.- A man delivering beer is being hailed as a hero after he took down a would-be robber at a convenience store in Enid on Tuesday morning.

The suspect, a 14-year-old came into the convenience store, near 11th St. and Maine, and tried to rob the clerk.

The suspect told the delivery man he wasn’t in school because he’d gotten suspended.

Everyone is calling the beer delivery man a hero, but the clerk, who is a grandmother, also showed some pretty brave moves.

Brock Nulph, with Pope Beer Distributing, was in the middle of a delivery at the targeted convenience store Monday, when video shows a kid walk in.

“When he turned around he had the sweatshirt, the mask and everything on him,” Kristi Shiemann, the store clerk on duty said.

While the boy, only 14-years-old planned his next move, Nulph was still in the coolers, stacking beer.

“I said what do you need? You need to go back outside or take that stuff off your face, you can’t be in here like that,” Shiemann remembers.

Video shows customers walking in, while the suspect waits patiently.

“I was thinking, why you just standing there?” Shiemann said.

As the customers walked out, the kid sprang into action. The delivery guy was still in the back. The clerk also had tricks up her sleeve.

“I’m all like, get back, get back, cause I seen him coming and I decided to get on the counter like this, and I’m like no, no man, stop, ” Shiemann said as she pointed a shocking stick towards the alleged suspect.

“I jumped down here like this and I’m still like this and I run to the cooler and I get the Coors guy and he comes out and tackles him, puts him down!” Shiemann remembers.

Nulph said he didn’t know what was going on until the clerk came to ask for help.

“He had a stick wrapped up, looking like a gun. He looked like a kid when I yanked everything off he said he was 14-years-old,” Nulph said.

The delivery man will forever be known as a hero.

“I love you Brock! Your my hero for life! Muah!” Shiemann said.

The 14-year-old is being charged with armed robbery, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco.
