First GTX 970 price details show up

In Philippines sadly

Following recent leaks regarding specifications of the upcoming Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 graphics card as well as some of the first pictures and benchmarks of the same graphics card, now we have some of the first details regarding the price, courtesy of an e-tailer in Philippines.

According to e-tailers estimate, posted over on the Facebook page, the GTX 970, which should have a performance similar to the Radeon R9 290 and the GTX 780, but at much better efficiency, is priced at 19-22K Philippine Pesos, which converts to about US $430 to US $500.

The e-tailer also revealed the estimated price for the GTX 980 as well, which should have a performance similar to the GTX 780 Ti, at least on paper. The price of the GTX 980, according to the source, is set at anywhere between 31 and 34K Philippine Pesos, which converts to a rather steep US $700 to US $770.

Of course, these are early pre-order prices which e-tailers tend to inflate in order to earn extra cash on the early birds, so it would be wise to take these prices with a grain of salt and wait for the official Nvidia announcement on 18th of September.
