You Don't Know Jack #1

Bought for Love

Rate this book
Billionaire Jack Duncan puts out an ad to find the woman of his dreams. His criteria? Purity, obedience, and a certain naivety.

After all, how else is he supposed to find the perfect trophy wife to stand beside him as he runs for office?

Out of sheer curiosity, Emily answers the ad. She’s never met a billionaire before like him before.

Little did she know, her curiosity sent her into his trap.

As part of his sordid manipulation, he offers her everything she’s ever wanted-financial freedom, a chance for her sister’s dreams to come true, and what she assumes is love.
For Jack the arrangement has nothing to do with love. She is the perfect woman to suit his purposes. She’s completely unaware of his plans ... or what effect she has on him. Everything from her youth to her innocent vibe entices him.

But the billionaire has cruel, dark desires, ones he had originally meant to keep hidden from her. When he loses his resolve, he begins a chain of events that will change Emily’s life forever.

Spoiler-ish:

This book just didnt do it for me. The heroine was VERY naive - usually that doesnt bug me but in this case it was abit much. And Jack was an ass - I dont care how good lookin/rich he is. Also, I dont like how he cheated on his wife near the end by sleeping with his sub.. Wish there would have been a warning since I most likely wouldnt have read the book if I had known.

This was NOT good. The lead female is not only naïve but she is also all just STUPID!! Ok so being naïve is not bad and the whole premise is that she is very sheltered by her sister, but come on we do live in the 21st century, I am sure she has watched TV or gone to the movies maybe even read a book so when it comes to the if you want to call them sex scenes she should have a little bit of a clue. The Male lead Jack is just a DICK!!! no better word for it sorry. There is hardly any charter development. You learned more about the sister than you did about the lead. She didn't even develop Jack that well you just come away NOT wanting to know any more about Jack. I did finish the book but will not be looking forward to the 2nd one.

Oh Jack

Oh Jack

He's such an a--hole. I think I love him. And Emily... so very clueless. I would've loved a deeper look into Jack's relationship with his slave but I'm hoping that'll happen in book 2. There was a cliffhanger but not so much of one that you're despairing the end of the book. I will definitely be buying the next though.

Ughhh your killing me....I need more Jack!!!! Some may not like him, but I found him enticing, dark, kinky, but there is also a softer side we haven't seen yet.
I thought this was FANTASTIC and I can not wait for more

OH MY GOD!!! I seriously don’t know what else to say about this book. I don’t think there is a way to get across how much I absolutely LOVED it !! I didn’t put my Kindle down once while I was reading it. Then when the book was over I was ready to throw my Kindle across the room. I don’t really want to go into what the book was about, because I don’t want to give anything away. But I will say that it involves a rich Alpha male, a virgin and tons of secrets. Oh and it is HOT !! Now because Michelle left me hanging at the end I am seriously hoping she is typing away on the next book of the series. Because I don’t know how long I can wait for it !!

Jack is a bipolar Dom......he treats his wife as a treasured pet but keeps a masochist as a slave for his more violent side. he plays the gentle but firm dom to his wife who was much younger and a naive virgin when they met. she met his requirements for a sub who met society requirements for am aspiring politician bit keeps his violent, sadistic side for his kept slave. this book ends with the wife beginning to suspect all is not as she believed. this dom' s life is about to spin out of his control....in book 2'm

Hi. This is Maggie Smith. I have just read Bought For Love and want to share with other readers how much I enjoyed this book. I found the storyline intriguing and the characters fascinating. I hope the next installment will be available soon as I foresee lots more angst to come and can't wait to see how all the people involved handle the situations. Thank you Michelle Hughes for this compelling book and I look forward to reading more from you. M.S.

This book was ok but I didn’t like it for 2 reasons.
1. It had a cliffhanger ending. If I was forewarned it might have been ok.

2.The heroine in this book was being brainwashed & abused but she was too naive to realize it.
Books are an escape for me & their is enough of that in this world already so I don’t like to read too much of it.
To those of you who might say it was similar to Fifty Shades of Grey I beg to differ because Christian Grey was very up front with Ana about who & what he was. No subterfuge or manipulation and I appreciated that.

This book probably is only 2.5 stars but I'm feeling generous tonight (LOL). Up until the last couple of pages this book was like Fifty Shades Of Grey/Darker and Freed all rolled into one. The book was left opened for the next one in the series although I don't like how it ended. The only hint I am going to tell you is that you find out that the main character is really an a******. You will need to read the book to find out what I am talking about.

Jack is one of the worst characters I've ever read about in a book. He's selfish and has no remorse for his actions. Sleeps with his submissive his entire marriage and doesn't see a thing wrong with it. The age old excuse of "I can't do those things to my wife" is given. Emily is young and clueless and needs to run while she still can. I purchased both books for .99 cents each so I'll guess I'll read the second to see how this train wreck ends.

BRILLIANT! FILLED WITH JUST THE RIGHT MIXTURE OF ROMANCE AND EROTICA!

Finally a story that is realistic. It is filled with romance, heartbreak and intimacy. A marriage we all wish we had!

Nonsense

No storyline, utter drivel. My expectations weren't high and sadly I was proven right.
You'll read this for raunchy writing but nothing else

I received a freecopy of this book to read and review for Nice Ladies, Naughty Books.

Emily Yates is as innocent and naive as they come. Living with her older, over protective sister since the death of her mother, she hasn't had the normal life of a teenager.

When her sister sees an ad that wealthy businessman Jack Duncan has placed for an "inexperienced woman" that he can train to be his perfect partner, her ranting and raving stir Emily's curiosity. Completing the online application on a whim, she imagines for a few minutes about what it would be like to be with a man, any man, and have a family of her own.

When she's called for an interview, Emily tries to talk herself out of it, but goes along anyway. Seeing Jack, she's instantly enamoured. Jack is also instantly captivated by Emily's appearance. Instinctively, he knows this the woman he wants to be his wife, the mother of his children -- his "perfect" partner, the perfect politician's wife.

Jack wants to keep his private life separate from the life he shares with any family life he may have, essentially he wants to have his cake and eat it too, and by finding an inexperienced Emily he can have just that.

I like the way the author wrote the first few love scenes, allowing for Emily's innocence and Jack's caring to show through. As they romance progressed so did the heat level.

The first half of the book was so much different from the last half, in that you saw the day to day happenings in Emily and Jack's life, whereas in the last part of the book, there were months that were skipped to further the story. I think the author could have filled in some of the blank spaces by showing what else was going on in Jack's private world. I would also like to have seen how Emily adjusted to her life as Jack's wife and the world in which is now living.

The heat factor in this book is off the chart. I really enjoyed the way the author showed how caring Jack could be with Emily, but also how dominant he could be at times.

Oh my word!! What a book!! I am so tired of reviews that say you will enjoy the said book if you enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey and the Crossfire series. In most cases I think it's just a clever marketing ploy. So often most of these books are NOTHING like Fifty Shades or the Crossfire series, that is why even though my interest was piqued when I saw Bought for You, when it was compared to these other books I was hesitant to buy it, as so much trash has been written that is advertised as "if you enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey....." . Well, needless to say I devoured this book over two days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Boy oh boy, I did SO totally not see the surprise/twist!!!! I have recommended it to all my friends. Buy it NOW! you will not be disappointed! After having read Bought for Love I am eager to see what else this author has written as I am definitely interested in reading more by her. Even though there is a follow on to this book, which can also be off putting at times, as this seems to be becoming a trend there is a sense of conclusion to the book which was lovely as it was a sort of cliffhanger, yet still brought the book to a satisfying conclusion.

Michelle Hughes has written another spellbinding book that once you start you don't want to put it down until your done. Then when you're done, you want more. I know I did when I reached the end of this book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.

You truly Don't Know Jack even when you think you've got him figured out. Jack has so many secrets will we ever find them all out and get to know the "real" Jack. I can't wait to fnd out if his life starts to unravel or if he will be able to keep it all together. He is truly an Alpha male with the need to control everything in his environment.

Love this book and will reccomend it to anyone that needs a hot book to devour.

Thanks, Michelle Hughes for writing such an awesome book!

Another winner for Michellle Hughes.Gets you into the tale quickly and keeps you till the last page. Leaves you gasp I g for more.Emily is an innocent - Jack is hot as hell. You to k they will never work, however though inexperienced, Emily is not timid. There is some fun and also deep feelings I in here and hidden secrets to be unravelled. Can't wait for next book - hopefully soon. Maggie Smith.

Maybe the next book will be better.

Minus two stars for being a cheating douche. I hate leading men who are cheaters and add the fact that jack is such a disrespectful douche there is nothing to recommend him.

I love strong dominate men but they have to have some Integrity or they are just abusive jerks.

I almost liked this story except for the cheating.

I hope life knocks some humanity in him for the next book or there will be nothing redeeming in this guy to read about.

Could not put it down! It was a page turner from beginning to end. Michelle, has done it again, she has created a story that pulls you in to a steamy, sensual world in true Michelle Hughes fashion. Whether, you are loving, hating, cringing, or furious the one thing you won't be is bored! Do yourself a favor add this book to your collection.

I found this novel to be exceedingly annoying. The character Emily, was far too obtuse to be believable. However, it should be noted that I am not the least bit interested in young adult novels, so my prejudice is probably showing. If that type of literature appeals to you, this novel will undoubtedly grab your interest as it was well written and very well edited.

Normally I do not write reviews actually this is a first. So going to keep it short. I actually wrote to Michelle to find out when book two is coming out, cause it left me saying "wtf I did not see that coming". Definitely not your normal perfect lead characters.

Review

this kind of reminds you of 50 Shades of Gray only not as black. the thing that bothers me is it is a cliff hanger. you have to buy another book to see what happens between them.
