Hidden Treasure

Rate this book
The second book in the Lost Anderson series is here, and it comes to you with a kicking and screaming heiress.
Brielle Storm inherits a dilapidated ranch in the wilds of Montana and she isn’t happy about her situation in the least. She may be moving to her new home, and she may be planning on doing whatever it takes to make her billionaire father happy, but she certainly won’t be doing it with a smile on her face.

No. Brielle plans on coming to Montana, hiring some ranch hand to do all the work, and then getting out of there before the first winter snow has a chance to hit.

Montana isn’t a state that offers predictable weather and Brielle is going to find out that the land isn’t the only thing she has to fear.

When her hotter than any city boy ever dreams of being, cowboy neighbor shows up on her doorstep, Brielle decides that maybe Montana isn’t so bad after-all.

That is until he laughs openly at her city girl ways. Then, she has something to prove…

I have never read a Melody Anne book before, and I have to tell you, I have been missing out. This is the first book I have read in the Billionaire Bachelor series. I am in love. Cowboys. Rich hot guys.. Is there anything not to love here?

Brielle Storm is forced to go and run a ranch by her father. He is trying to teach his spoiled adult children responsibility. Brielle is not used to hard work or country life. She is more of a mani/pedi girl. She is not too thrilled with the idea of running a ranch. But she does what she has to so she can get back in her father's good graces.

On the ranch she meets Colt, whom she assumes works for her as a ranch hand. Instantly they get off on the wrong foot. He thinks she is a spoiled brat and she thinks he is a pompous ass who is just hired help. The chemistry between these two is intense right from the start.

The more time Colt and Brielle spend together, the more their attraction grows. It is inevitable that these two will not be able to keep their hands off each other. Brielle starts to fall in love with not only Colt but also, the ranch. Two things she never thought she would ever like, she manages to fall in love with.

Colt does have one major secret her is keeping from Brielle. Will it break them apart forever? Or can they get through it?

I must say, I am a sucker for romance and sweet stories. I loved this one. I can not wait to see what is up next in this series!

Richard had a meeting with all of his kids. He told them he had cut off their credit cards, and trust funds. He bought each child a failing property/business, and wanted each of his kids to turn the business around. Richard wanted each of his kids to experience what success felt like after working hard for it. He placed the deeds to the properties on a table, leaving his sons, and daughter to fight for which one they wanted. Brielle didn't want any part of this. She walked out of the meeting before it was over. She did good for a year, but then the place she worked for went out of business. She couldn't find another job. She had no choice but to beg her dad to give her a chance. The last property left was a ranch in Montana.

The story was really good. I could feel the frustrations that Brielle was going through. She wanted to learn, but no one wanted to teach her. Her ranch hands didn't think a city girl stood a chance. I loved the humorous parts in this book that had me laughing. The romance between colt and Brielle was steamy, and sweet. The book described small town living as it really is. I've lived in small towns, and everyone knows everyone. The gossip is always better than the news of a morning newspaper.

I love this whole series. This book is a stand alone, but each book is worth reading.

Hidden Treasure: The Lost Andersons Book 2; Billionaire Bachelors Book 9 is by Melody Anne. It seems Richard Storm is just as meddling as his brothers Joseph and George Anderson. Richard has given his children an ultimatum. He closed their access to money and cut them off from their trust funds. He had five projects waiting for them. Each was to take one and turn the business into a successful one and grow up. Of course, all five were furious; but they did stay to hear him out. Bree, being the youngest; the only girl; and at the moment, the angriest, decided she could make it on her own and didn’t need one of the projects. Eventually, she had to return to her Father and accept his plan. However, the only thing left was a ranch in Montana. So Little Miss City was to live as Little Miss Country and make the ranch a go.
Totally unprepared, Brielle heads towards her ranch. She just hoped her foreman was the type of man who would take control and teach her whatever she had to know. Her feelings of inferiority and insecurity grew as she approached the ranch. Surely there would be someone to help her. Just as she started up the rickety stairs to her house, she met the first of her employees, Colt, and her ideas of good help was gone. How would she get through this?

Not my favorite of this series but I had to read it because the lost Anderson family are the only books that I have not read and I'm a little partial to Joseph and his matchmaking ways.

You know what's great? Billionaires. Know what else is great? Cowboys. Bring them together and oooooh, I'm drooling! Sounds like a winning combination, am I right? So, here I am, back in Big Sky Country - Montana, for those of you that haven't been Googling cowboys like me - for Hidden Treasure and I can't say I'm too sad about that. Time to break out my best country slang and twang. Y'all with me?

Brielle Storm grew-up moneyed. Her father is incredibly wealthy and she's happy to play the disinterested, bitchy, spoiled princess. But when her father unexpectedly decides to disinherit Brielle, she finds herself in the middle of nowhere - on a failing ranch in Montana, to be precise. She knows nothing about ranching but she's determined to meet her father's requirements and get her inheritance reinstated as quickly as possible...until Colt. Colt Westbrook had his eyes on the land at the Ponderosa Pines Ranch and he was not happy when it was sold to Richard Storm and given to Brielle to run. Determined to add the acres to his own wealthy ranch, Colt starts his campaign to get Brielle to sell to him as soon as possible. Allowing her to believe he's just a ranch hand is just step one. But Brielle isn't what he expected, nor is she what she seems. Underneath her city girl exterior is a heart and a brain that's making him forget about the land and his bachelor ways. But what will happen when Brielle finds out who Colt really is and what he really wants?

I really wanted to love this book. The blurb had me intrigued and the prologue was an awesome start. I loved the concept of the rich girl having to earn back her trust fund, and the fish-out-of-water storyline had great potential. Unfortunately, for the first half of the book Brielle was too bitchy, too arrogant, too spoiled and I couldn't connect with her. I would have liked more quiet moments from her and for her past to have been revealed earlier in story. By the time it was revealed it was almost too late for me to like her. I did warm to Brielle as the story progressed but, after such a rocky start, I was never truly invested in her story. However, there were a few hidden treasures in Hidden Treasure. Tony, Hawk and the three match-making old biddies from the town were fun and brought some humour to the story. The visit with Brielle's father was lovely. And Colt. Colt frustrated me a bit early on - much like Brielle, actually - but I enjoyed watching him realize his need for Brielle and his willingness to let go of his plans to grasp a different future. There are earlier books in this series and, although they aren't required reading, I can't help but think they would have helped me appreciate this story and the characters better. All in all, y'all, I'd say that this book was kinda sweet, kinda sexy and pretty fun - and I'm willing to take another trip to Montana.

Hidden Treasure is the ninth book in the Billionaire Bachelor series and the second book in it's soon-off, The Lost Andersons series. It can be read as a standalone, no cliffhanger.

As much as I love the story of the Andersons and their extended family, this one was just kind of "okay" for me. This is the first installment that I had a hard time reading. It just didn't hold my interest as much as the others did.

This story needed something more than Brielle and Colt. Their whole deal, Brielle and her self pity and Colt and his deception, just got tiresome and boring to me. The progression was just too slow. Besides, Brielle & Colt spent so much time sexing each other up, I don't see how he taught her anything about running the farm!

Lastly, since this book is the transition or bridge to the new Cowboy series, I would have much rather learned more about Hawk, Bethel, Eileen, Maggie and Martin. I would have also liked to know how Martin and Joseph became friends.

Brielle and Colt had a hot start to their relationship which fit in just fine with their characters. I think Brielle should've had some other issue that was causing her to be the way she was. Plus we never found out exactly what happened to her in college. The story didn't really give you much about Colt either but somehow it came together. I really enjoy how the fathers have a hand in it all and I want to find out what they'll do next more then read the actual stories. I think a few of these could've been way better if the author had something different to write about.

2 estrellas.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. After her father Richard Storm gave his kids an ultimatum to rebuilt a failing business or lose their inheritance, Brielle refused to pick one and walked away, but when she was running out of her money she didn't have any other choice but to go see her father. The only property left was a ranch in Montana and she was upset because she didn't know anything about building or rebuilding a business. When Brielle went to Montana to see her property she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Colt Westbrook was upset because he had planed to buy the Ponderosa Pines Ranch when Richard came in and bought it right under him, but now he wanted Brielle to fail and sell it to him and leave. Brielle thought that Colt was one of her helpers, but he was keeping a secret from her and since they were becomming really close he was beginning to feel guilty not telling her. When Brielle found out that Colt was lying to her she told him that she didn't want to see him again.

Treasure to Find

Colt Westbrook is sure Brielle Storm doesn't deserve the Ponderosa Pines Ranch in the wilds of Montana that should have been his. She's a spoiled, rich, prissy bit of woman who belongs in the city, any city, and not in the country next to his ranch. For her part, Brielle would rather be in the city, not on this dirty, isolated farm. But to meet her Dad's ultimatum, and retrieve her inheritance, she must bring back this ranch to success. She has a steep learning curve. Although she ends up with Colt as her mentor (she doesn't know he's her rival) she fights her learning process every step of the way. Turns out Colt's correct, Brielle is a spoiled, bratty, self- important city girl. But he is also lying to her, so there's that. It turns out that both of them are more than they seem, and less than they should be. Their journey to love and happiness is fraught with poor assumptions, misapprehension and secrets. Will their hidden good hearts win the day? It's a tough job, but well worth digging to find it.

Because Brielle threw a fit when her father laid down some new ground rules regarding her inheritance, the ranch in Montana is the last project left to be picked and therefore she is stuck with it. When she finally arrives, she is horrified about the location and the look of the ranch. When she runs into Colt, she believes he works for her. Colt doesn't say anything to correct her because he thinks that if she gives up, then the ranch will finally be his. He just wasn't expecting not only his strong attraction to her, but also her determination to give ranching a try. He doesn't let her know that he is actually her rich neighbor with his own ranch. When she discovers the truth about him, she feels betrayed and takes off to visit her brother. While she is gone, Colt is going crazy and tries one huge romantic gesture to win her back. I really did like what Colt did to prove he was sorry and to win her back.

Brielle does not know what to think. She's been able to support herself with her father's money for years but when he cuts her and her siblings off she has a only once chance to make a go of it. A dilapidated ranch in Montana. But this city girl has absolutely no idea how to live on a ranch, let alone run one. Especially when none of the ranch hands treat her as a joke and don't listen to a thing she says. Her next door neighbor, Colt, has wanted to buy Brielle's property for years so watching her fail is just what he needs to gain her lands. He just wasn't counting on how attracted to her he would be. Can the city girl show this country boy that she's got what it takes to make it on the ranch and steal his heart? Really fun, sweet, sexy story. Loved Brielle's growth and I'm excited to see where they go next in the series. Fun read!

Oh home on the ranch

Brielle finds her home on the ranch! Who would have guessed that a spoiled rich girl would end up on a ranch in Montana out in the middle of nowhere? Certainly not Brielle! One thing I would have liked to have seen in this book was Brielle telling her dad or Crew about her meeting with her mother. I would have loved to see her father's reaction as well as Crew's. Not really sure Colt should have gotten the girl. I mean who does that certainly not someone who is supposed to be honorable. I just love the 3 gossipy ladies and their sidekick and don't forget the 3 brothers when they get together. So funny! I love those characters!

Treasure always

Brielle is the youngest and only girl. She has had led a privileged life. Till her father issues an ultimatum, succeed at a certain task or no more money or inheritance. She drags her feet and ends up in a ranch. She hates it at first. She meets Colt on the first day and makes the assumption he works for her. He doesn't correct her just wants her to leave so he can buy the land. Soon however things change and love takes over. Will he tell her the truth, will she embrace the ranch life and make it a success. You need to read this book

Ranch Romance

Let we just say it was a well written romance, and the girl learned not to be a princess. Just to get a man who will treat her like a princess.

What I didn’t like is I thought at first I was reading a book I had previously read, however it wasn’t exactly the same story. I read another story where a girl inherited a ranch and the man who had been working it thought he should have it. Anyway this one was hard because it just seemed too similar is some ways and differed in others.

Favorite

This has been my favorite so far off Richard's children. Brielle and Cole's story had me laughing out loud in the beginning. I wish it would have continued. It didn't, though their journey still made me love it. I wanted Brielle too give him as good as she gave her brothers. No grandchildren yet for Richard. I hope when they come someone has triplets! I also wanted Brielle to open up to her father and brother's about what happened with her mother that day. They deserved to know! This is why I couldn't give it five stars.

Colt and Brielle

Another great story in this series. So far, Richard’s “spoiled brats” are winning this series for me, hands down. They may have needed a swift kick to get their lives jump started in the right direction, but seeing them struggle and actually get to know the people they fall for is great. Colt and Brielle are a great couple. I hope to see more about Richard’s ex further down the line.

Awesome book.

I loved this book and couldn’t stop reading. Brielle has to prove to her Dad she can run a ranch. Loved the chemistry between Brielle and Colt. They sure fell hard for each other. Didn’t expect to cry so much. Cried when they opened up to each other and really felt the heartbreak they went through. But thankfully there’s a very happy ever after. I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend all the books in this series.

This is Brielle, and Colts story she's a spoiled little rich girl who's father has challenged to make a broken down ranch prosper Colt is her wealthy next door neighbor she assumes works for her, let the sparks fly.

I would recommend this book and series for mature readers that enjoy stories that are at times equally funny, steamy and romantic with strong characters both male and female.

When Brielle is given a challenge to regain her inheritance she is the typical spoilt little rich princess. It is not until she takes stock of the situation she ends up in does she realise that this is exactly what she needed. Colt is the gorgeous alpha male who at first thinks he can trick Brie into giving up her project however they fall despwratly in love. There are twists and turns and many bumps in the road however a definate warm and fuzzy romance novel

This is a western sort of, set in remote, small town in Wyoming. Rich girl stripped of her allowance and credit cards by her Dad is sent to see if she can turn a failing 10K acre ranch to a profit.

She is a lot like Piper from It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. She is clueless and spoiled and mistakes a neighboring rancher Colt for one of her hired hands. This starts a battle of sorts with both of them growing up.
Very enjoyable book.

Excellent

This is Brielle Storm's story and it's a fun one. Stuck on a Montana ranch, Brielle has to figure out how to run the ranch and none of the hands seem to be willing to help her. No one but Colt. But is Colt really what he appears to be and is he losing his heart as quickly as Brielle is??

Brielle was a little bit bratty at times. Colt makes some hard decisions thinking he knows who Brielle is.
I loved the way they fell for each other. There were of course a ton of secondary character I hope will get their own stories, along with all the "lost " Andersons too.

Colt groveling=the best

Lost Andersons 2

Brielle has been trying to avoid her father's mandate of taking on her business but time is up and she is out of options. When she arrives in Montana, she meets her neighbor, Colt who at first only wants to buy her ranch. After spending time together, Colt realizes there is more to Brielle then she lets people see. Will they find their happily ever after?

3.5 Stars for me!

This was really difficult for me to keep listening to as the H was so OTT bitchy and overly difficult. She does this as a defense but the reasoning behind it seems nonsensical (not saying abandonment is nonsense but how it came about and its impact on the h). She improves just past the mid point in the story and everything moves towards the HEA!
