| Chorus Concert is TODAY at
6:30 p.m.
Please note that tonight's Chorus Concert at Mantua begins at 6:30 p.m. (It was originally listed in the Alert News with a later start time.) Students in the chorus should be at the school at 6:00 p.m. We hope to see you all there!
Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is TODAY, 1:30-3:00 p.m. To honor our wonderful educators, the Mantua PTA (that’s us parents) will host the annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in the library. This year we are going South of the Border and treating our teachers to the tastes of Mexico! Teachers will enjoy delicious food courtesy of the grateful Mantua parents.
To do this we will need LOTS OF HELP!
Please consider providing the food items assigned to your child’s grade or family as follows:
Family 1: Desserts! Cookies, brownies, cakes, and pies
Family 2: Sour cream, salsa and guacamole
Family 3: Bags of tortilla chips
3rd Grade: Cut fresh fruit and berries
4th Grade: Salad dressings
5th Grade: Cut fresh vegetables
6th Grade: Bags of salad
Food dishes and items not requiring refrigeration should be brought to the library starting at 10:00 a.m. today or sent to school with your child. We’ll have baker’s racks set up to receive your items at the school entrance. Items that require refrigeration should be brought directly to the library before 12:30 p.m. or contact one of us and we’ll make arrangements.
If possible, use disposable containers and utensils. If you need your container returned, please label it. Dishes will be held in the office for you to pick up.
Volunteers are also needed to help with set up, clean up and to provide a helping hand during the luncheon. Did You Know…
that during the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon today, a few lucky teachers will have an opportunity to win some wonderful door prizes? The PTA (again, that’s us parents) provides the prizes that are given out during a drawing that is held while the teachers enjoy their lunch.
If you are interested in contributing a door prize, there are many ways to participate. If you have a home-based business and would like to donate a few products that can be used for door prizes, please contact the hospitality chair people listed below. We are also hoping to get $5 and $10 gift cards from area shops and restaurants donated. There will be a box marked “Gift Cards” in the office and you can simply drop your contribution off at any time before the luncheon. If you have a hobby, perhaps you would like to donate one of your creations. Our teachers will LOVE any “gift” that is donated. As always, these prizes are a donation, and there is no participation required.
