HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 12, 2016) – After a strong showing at the East Stroudsburg Invitational last weekend, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's indoor track and field team will be competing at the Empire 8 Conference Championship Saturday.
MEET DETAILSIthaca College is the site of the E8 meet, and will begin at 10 a.m. in the Glazer Arena.
ESU RECAPJunior
Neil Forrester recorded a school-record shot put throw of 14.51-meters, which was good for sixth place. Junior
Nicholas Zickgraf finished the 800-meter with a first place time of 1:58.4, while sophomore
Greg Arabagian was behind him in second.
FINDING FORRESTERWith his 14.51m shot put, Forrester qualified for the ECAC Championships on March 4-5 at the Ocean Breeze Track Facility on Staten Island.
QUICK NICKZickgraf currently in the top-35 nationally in the mile, turning in a season-best time of 4:14.85 at the Terrier Invitational two weeks ago.
OPEN THE VAULTFreshman
Andy Accardi has thrived in the pole vault this year. At ESU, Accardi finished in first place, topping his closest opponent by .30m.
TOP-10Senior
Kristopher Alvarez nabbed a tenth place time of 8.18 in the 55-meter hurdles.
FAST FRATTOJunior
Brian Fratto has season-best times in 55-meter dash (6.75-seconds) and the 60m dash (7.23.) Fratto was also part of the ninth place 4X200 meter relay squad at the ESU meet.
