5 Picnic Stars!
From the very beginning of the Reaper’s series, I’ve been dying to get more Picnic. And after reading Em and Liam’s book, I was even more excited. His book did not disappoint. Picnic is older than the other guys, he’s a dad and he’s president of the Reaper’s MC, but he kick’s ass. I love him, love the book, and love the series!
London lives in the same town as all the bikers, but she doesn’t run with that crowd. She owns her own cleaning service and takes care of her cousin’s daughter, Jessica, as her own. The only way she’s connected to the Reaper’s is through her cleaning business. She clean’s most of the Reaper’s establishments. She has seen Reese ‘Picnic’ Hayes around, and even though she finds him extremely attractive, he’s sort of terrified her in a way.
Ever since Picnic’s wife died, he’s never wanted to settle back down. He’ll never have an old lady again, never have a steady girl. It’s just one night stands and club whores for him. No attachments. He won’t risk getting hurt like that again. London Armstrong is not the type of woman for him. She’s older than his normal girl, even though she’s a few years younger than him. Also, she’s not the type to just have fun with. She’s the type that would want to settle down. And he can’t go there.
So much is going on in London’s life right now. She is a tough woman. She deals with her job, running a business all on her own. She takes care of a teenage girl with some issues and special needs. She’s dating a cop (ugh) and then there is Picnic interfering in her life. But with his interfering, she finds that he’s actually there for her more than anyone else. He’s trying to help her, be the shoulder she needs to lean on.
I loved the progression of their relationship. It wasn’t fast, it wasn’t easy, and it was by no means insta-love. But they did grow to care for one another. In a way Picnic thought he was no longer capable of. With everything going wrong in London’s life, for the first time in a long time, things just seemed right with Reese. He made things better for her. I liked the two of the together. They were good together.
That is, until everything changed. When the shit hits the fan in her life, London is forced to make a choice. A choice no one should have to make. A choice between the man she is falling for, and the girl who is like a daughter to her.
Here is where the action really begins. It’s gritty and raw like a biker book should be. It’s also heartbreaking at times. And romantic at times. I loved that the hero and heroine were both a little older and more mature than the other couples in this series.
Picnic is the perfect combination of sexy, dominate, protective, sweet and tough. He’s a great father, friend and leader. There were a few things about London that irked me… if you’ve read the book you know the main thing I’m talking about. I can’t say I don’t get the choice she made. I could sympathize with her situation. Still- I didn’t like it. That being said, with her fierce determination and loyalty, she more than redeemed herself in my eyes.
I love a good second chance romance. I love a good biker book with a alpha hero and a kick ass heroine. This book had all of those things. The Reaper’s series is one of my favorite biker series. Joanna Wylde writes bikers in the best way- gritty and raw without being too much, and she gives them heart without making them pussies. Reaper’s Stand was a wonderful story of moving on from your past, finding love again and learning it’s okay to trust people and take a chance. Passionate, romantic, erotic and action packed, this was a 5 star read for me. And after that extended epilogue I have a feeling the best is yet to come! I can’t wait to read more of this series!!!

She was too nice, too clean, and way the fuck to grown up. Ms. Armstrong was a regular citizen walking the straight and narrow, and she had no place in my world. She’d run off screaming in the darkness if I cut loose with her.The more Picnic and London are thrown together, the more their attraction grows. London’s kid Jessica is trouble. And Picnic goes against his better judgment and helps her. This makes London ‘owe him’. Even though Picnic tells himself over and over again this is not the type of girl he should be with, he can’t help his desire for her. He hasn’t felt this way about any woman since his wife.

The only thing worse than destroying the man you care about is destroying him after he makes heartbreakingly beautiful love to you. I was still going to do it, though. I didn’t have a choice.London didn’t feel like she even had a choice in the matter. It was what it was and she was just going to have to deal with the consequences.

I think there's something about the Hayes family that just screams awesome. Em from Devil's Gamewas my favorite heroine in the series and I can now say that Reese "Picnic" Hayes is my favorite hero in the series. Seriously. Move over Horse, Ruger, and Hunter because no one does it better than an older man. Well not that Picnic is old at 43, but in books overrun with 20 somethings, he was a man-whoring breath of fresh air. He definitely teach a thing or 2 to his younger brothers. Basically what I'm trying to tell you here is Picnic is the DIC. That's dick in charge if you're not familiar. What I mean is, he's this delicious mix of asshole biker, caring father, and a sweet endearing side that he keeps mostly under wraps. But don't worry, he's not too sweet.
London owns the cleaning service that handles most of the Reaper's business and that's how she catches Picnic's attention; on all fours, scrubbing his floors. What? Did you think he noticed her sparkling personality? Not unless that personality were attached to her tits. Picnic has some standards after all.
London lives her life on the straight and narrow. She's trying hard to support herself and Jessica, her cousin's daughter that she's taking care of. Jessica, a product of being born to a drug addict, makes reckless decisions and lacks impulse control that leads her straight into the sort of trouble London never expected. But I won't give you more than what the blurb offers, because that would ruin the book, so let's move on.
Picnic was a character that I fell fall right away. He's a womanizer, and asshole in his own right, but also has an incredibly caring side to him that extends to his daughters and his brothers. While he was an asshole to London for almost a good half of the book, it's not too bad since the entire book spans over a week. But behind the dirty talker and the loyal brother, there's the true Reaper.
As far as grit goes, this book certainly offered a whole lot more of it than the other 3 in the series. There was also quite a bit of action and the romance fit nicely in the midst of it all.
London was a fantastic heroine. Being 38, she's a lot more mature than the rest of the heroines in this series have been...and I don't mean that in the age sense. She was strong witted, caring, but definitely not perfect.
But she's also hiding something from Reese, something that the reader is privy to from the very first chapter though you don't know the why's of it. That information you find out as the story progresses.
I sympathized with her situation and her choice for the majority of the book...until the one choice that she makes where everything pretty much hits the fan. I had a really tough time forgiving her and really moving on from that decision. While she really proves herself afterwards and works for her redemption, I just couldn't get past that particular choice.
But in the light of everything else that was this book, that was just a minor bump in the road. I really enjoyed that this book was more focused on the MC and had more action and a little more grit. The one minor thing with London aside, I'd say this probably was my favorite book in the series. Looks like Joanna Wylde only continues to get better with each new book and I cannot WAIT for the next. Especially after that last chapter. Now THAT is a hero that I am dying to get my pervy little hands on.

London is a 38 year old business owner and is raising her cousin's daughter, Jessi. The world hasn't always been favorable to Jessi. Brought into this world by a junkie mom - Jessi has battled with survival her whole life. Now as an 18 year old, Jessi, is trying to find her way in the world. London is a strong mother figure and advocate for Jessi.
A fight late one night changes London's world.
OREGON may have only been in the book for a short amount of time but what happens in Oregon is a major player in REAPER'S STAND. Portland seems to be the place to be for these bikers to visit. I hope they travel down the valley in their next book and maybe visit me. We even have a Harley shop in case they need to get any work done while they're in town. *hint hint*
Portland's motto is - Keep Portland Weird.

This book came at the perfect time for me. My brother-in-law's wife died last month and while I was looking at facebook the other day I saw a picture of him sitting on a motorcycle. I got that longing to read a motorcycle book. Thank you, Ms. Wylde, for taking the tough subject of losing a spouse and being able to move forward with your life. You did an awesome job showing the reader how hard that would be to lose the love of your life and having to learn to love again.

Until I realized that I have to wait to find out what happens with the characters in the epilogue and bonus epilogue.

Just to clear the air, biker romances are not my choice of sub-genre nor do I ever feel the need to seek them out to read. Not unless the author is Joanna Wylde. Not unless it’s the Reapers MC series. My reading tastes are very narrow and I’m a picky bitch but this author and her addictive biker books work for me. I don’t think I’ll ever understand their freestyle way of life – most of their ideals go against my own – but I sure have a blast reading about them and the all-consuming passion and romance of each of these sinfully sexy bikers. Having loved the previous book in the series, I went into this one with the highest of expectations. As usual, this author does not disappoint. Did the book have my complete attention? Was the story plot engaging? Were the characters likable and did the romance feel genuine? Yes, yes, and yes. Though I had some issues with the book, overall this book was great and everything I imagined for Picnic’s story.

Not as an old lady or even a casual fling.
Supportive and independent, London Armstrong owns a successful cleaning business and has a contract with the Reapers MC. While managing her work, she also takes care of her cousin’s daughter Jessica – a reckless wild child – and Jessica’s friend Melanie who has a bad home life. She’s attracted to Picnic but knows she shouldn’t act on it, not with the dozens of responsibilities she has.

This book was different from the others in the series in several ways, all of which are positive. First, it’s a second chance romance between two older, more mature characters whereas the couples in the other books were much younger, more NA based. This aspect gives the story a lot more depth, allowing room for Picnic and London’s many life experiences. There’s also a lot more action and grit, something I thought the first three books lacked a little in. Additionally, I think there is a much greater focus on family than there was in the other books in the series. Picnic and London may be forces to reckon with in their respective businesses and work, but they are people who value family first. It was very interesting to see this dichotomy present between their personal and work lives.
Both Picnic and London are fantastic characters: so strong and so fiercely determined to protect their loved ones and what they believe in. In the first three books, there was only this rough and tough side of Picnic’s so I really enjoyed seeing his softer, protective side. His words and actions are unconventional and not what us society folks consider entirely romantic but the heartfelt feelings are there.
As positively outstanding this book is, the picky reader in me also had a few issues. For one, I really did not like Jessica. Even with that seriously doesn’t excuse all the shitty things she said/did that almost got London killed so most of the scenes with her present, I basically had a sour look on my face. Another thing was I didn’t have a full grasp on this intense connection London and Picnic had. It seemed to me that Picnic got tired of having airheaded bimbos around him and the first time he finds a woman with substance, he’s head over heels. Don’t get me wrong, I adore these characters individually but it took a good while for me to warm up to them as a couple, especially with all the action going around there was barely any room for relationship development. Oh and speaking of the action,
Despite the numerous problems I had with the book, it was pretty engaging, fun to read, and total escapism, which is the entire reason why I read books. If I wasn’t busy traveling the past few days, I would’ve finished this book in one sitting. And most importantly, I am DYING to get to the next book! Gawd, this woman is a friggin huge tease. She has revealed the hero of the next book though! ;)

Despite the numerous problems I had with the book, it was pretty engaging, fun to read, and total escapism, which is the entire reason why I read books. If I wasn’t busy traveling the past few days, I would’ve finished this book in one sitting. And most importantly, I am DYING to get to the next book! Gawd, this woman is a friggin huge tease. She has revealed the hero of the next book though! ;)

5 KICK ASS Stars
”There’s something about you, London, something that’s real in a way I can’t even begin to explain.”

Wowzers this was one fast paced high on the action hot read. I loved that the characters were in my age bracket. Some have casted senior citizen looking guys that I’m trying not to take personal offense because Picnic although his girls are grown isn’t social security collecting age. He has however experienced undying love and grief with the death of his wife Heather and doesn't plan on falling again for anyone.
This is going to be a love feast from me because I stayed up all night reading this one. The action never quit, London was lovable and kick ass while Picnic was total alpha written to perfection. Reese “Picnic” is the club leader, tough as nails, manwhore, funny and lovable. Both povs at times was hilarious and other times heart breaking.
”It’s a guy thing,” he told me. “We like taking care of our women. You don’t let me help you, the other boys’ll make fun of me and then I’ll have to cry. Are you trying to make me cry, London?”
Picnic wants the hot cleaning woman with the big tattas from the first time he sees her and although she wasn't of his world he has to have her.
” I think getting involved would be a big mistake. Not only that, I'm seeing someone already."
"I don't want to get involved and I don't give a shit about your boyfriend. But I wouldn't mind fucking your tits- that'd motivate me to help. Your call."
Picnic and London’s attraction is sizzling but add a bunch of young adult girls to the mix including London’s Jessica and Mellie along with the drug cartel and you got crazy coming your way which leads me back to that Prologue. When the story reaches that Prologue scene all bets are off as London tries to save her family and losses trust with the Reapers.
”Jess was in danger, Amber was dead, and I had to screw over the first man who’d made me feeling anything real in years. Maybe ever.”
I enjoyed everything about this story and if I had one complaint it’s that I wanted more of London and Picnic a few hundred more pages would have done nicely.
Overall, I absolutely enjoyed this ride I’m hoping to see a whole lot more from London and Picnic in the near future. On a Painter note, I loved him in this one!

Everything changes when Jessica gets herself involved in the club and London has to enlist Picnic to help her. As London quickly learns nothing is free and Picnic finally has his "in" with her.
While writing this review I was trying to put the books in order from my favorite to least favorite, because lets face it I have loved them all. I honestly don’t know where I would put this one. I will say I loved, loved, loved Picnic’s story. I loved his heart, humor, and damn he is so sexy. London was an awesome heroine, she was loving but strong, and didn’t take shit from anyone.
I was also very pleased this story had the grit I think MC books should have while not being over the top.
Overall, Ms. Wylde hit this one out of the park and I cannot wait for the next installment!

I have really enjoyed the Reaper’s Series. In each book we get a little bit of Reese “Picnic” Hayes and in book #3 Devil’s Game we get more. We also get a bit of London Armstrong too. Within those last few pages you just knew she’d be Picnic’s undoing.
In this one we get a little more grit, a little more badassery and a whole lot of Reese Hayes. Honestly I couldn’t get enough of this guy.
Reese~ this guy could be a real son of a bitch and such a man whore. But there was so much more to him. He loves his daughters dearly; he cherishes the memories of his first wife and his loyalty to the Reapers is really at the heart of who he is. Then London Armstrong happens. Once he gets a taste of her he knew she’d be trouble.
London~ was the opposite of Reese. She was a natural beauty and as innocent someone could be at 38 years old. Her life wasn’t perfect but she had everything she needed. And she wasn’t prepared for Reese and the intensity he would bring to her life but she really didn’t have a choice. Reese wanted her. And if she was honest with herself she wanted him too.
What brings Reese and London together, essentially is what tears them apart. London has spent the last six years raising her teenage cousin Jessica. At times things were not easy for the both of them. London just wanted Jessica to have the life she deserved and to protect her from the things that could ruin her life. But Jessica turns down a path that London never saw coming and now she is faced with making a choice that will ruin her life.
What was very apparent about Reese is you didn’t cross him or screw with his life. He knew bringing London into his world and crossing that line with her was something that could mess with his heart and mind. But that isn’t all she was capable of. Shit got crazy real fast for the both of them.
I think what I loved about Reese and London was the intensity of their relationship. When things were good it was intense. When things were bad it was intense. The sex was intense. The kisses were intense. The looks were intense. And I loved that it wasn’t just Reese taking what he wanted and needed from London. She took what she wanted too.
I absolutely loved the direction that this book was taken in. It was raw. It was gritty and Joanna Wylde kept things real. I love being back at the Armory with everyone too. We get some time with Horse, Rugger, Marie, Darcy, Sophie, Em and Painter.
There has always been something about Painter that I can't put my finger on. And like everyone else, I cannot wait to get his story in Reapers Fall!! ❤

A week ago I decided I wanted to read one motorcycle romance. This review is for my fifth of the week. Indeed once you fall into the porno trap it is nearly impossible to pull yourself back up. Not to mention it’s sticky. Oh so very sticky.
If you aren’t familiar with how these types of series work, it’s pretty simple. Each book follows a different member of the club and the woman he will commence to banging. The focus of this story was the MC President – Picnic . . .
“I had no idea why they called him that and I sure as heck hadn’t asked. He was the least picnicky person I’d ever met in my life.”
Apparently when most people hear the words “Motorcycle Club President” they picture something kinda like this . . .
Unfortunately my brain hates me so my silver fox looked more like this . . .
Even when I tried to fight it and think of someone who better matched Picnic’s description the best I could come up with was Senior from Orange County Choppers. If you don’t know who that is, he basically looks like this . . .
Luckily for me Joanna Wylde included a pretty damn good plot to distract me from my inability to cast characters. As I said, Picnic is the Reapers’ President. London is an owner of a cleaning company that has contracts with some of the club’s businesses. Picnic wants to do the shibbity dibbity with her. However, London has bigger concerns - mainly raising her young cousin who doesn’t have a history of making the best decisions. Picnic is nothing if not persistent, though, and continues trying to wear London down . . .
“Stop bitching and let me fuck you.”
I’m sure plenty will find Picnic to be a grade-A asshole (I don’t understand why people who don’t like badboy alpha males would ever choose to pick up a story like this in the first place), but he cracked me up and most definitely met his match with London . . .
“Are you fucked in the head? You’re so fucking stupid I could strangle you. Don’t know exactly what we’re doing here just yet, but it’s not just sex.”
“Right, and I suppose you’re planning to be true and faithful? I don’t buy it. You’re a known man-whore. Also, you ever call me stupid again and I’ll dump paint stripper on your bike. That isn’t a threat it’s a promise.”
Not everything was fun and games, though, and soon London and the Reapers found themselves dealing with some serious bad guys . . .
No, like REALLY bad guys . . .
Out of the 5 of these books I read this week, this was probably the best as far as story, but Motorcycle Man wins for the male lead sploosh factor. The only real problem I had with Reaper's Property was the highspeed timeline. I appreciate a story that doesn’t drag, but this whole thing took place in only one week and it was just a little too instalovey for my liking. That being said, the loving was hot like lava and . . . .
Mmmmmmm. Soooooo very vulgar.
As of now I’m moving on from the motorcycle porn, but I’m still up for suggestions. To the new followers I’ve gained this week, I won’t blame you if you dump me once I start reading my regular schizophrenic variety of stories. If you don’t already follow her, you should all follow Val. She reads lots of dirty books and homegirl is HI.LAR.IOUS. To my old friends and followers, thanks for tagging along on this crazy ride. . .

3.5 I have no clue how they ever came back from that train wreck and got their HEA Stars
*Spoilers*
.......Ok So again not as good as the first one and not as Good as the 3rd one (which was my fav), but still a good book.....
Picnic is the Reapers president, and he is a widow who lost his wife and the mother of his 2 daughter's to cancer. After losing her he vows to never love another woman or take another old lady and becomes a man whore! (shocker right) For 6 months now he has lusted after the lady that owns the cleaning company that cleans the clubs businesses London Armstrong. He is fighting it because he knows she isn't from his world and isn't the kind of woman you hit it and quit it and he doesn't wanna lose his cleaning lady.
“God damn. I needed to either fuck her of fire her, because this in-between shit was not workin' for me. "Course Gage wanted her crew working out at The Line permanently, so I guess that meant firing was off the table.
Okay, then, I'd take one for the team and fuck her.”
London is a 38 year old woman who owns London Cleaning Service. She has been raising her cousin's daughter Jessica who has a lot of health problems since she was born. Her husband left her because she wouldn't give Jessica up. She is total crushin of Picnic but she wants nothing to do with him because he is in a MC and she knows they are criminals.....
“I don’t know what bothered me more, his inherent scariness or the fact that his scariness sort of secretly turned me on.”
“Hayes’s lips ghosted across mine, and then he sucked my lower lip into his mouth. My legs clenched and in that instant I wanted him far more than I’d ever wanted anyone else. More than Nate, more than my ex . . . more than my high school boyfriend who took my virginity in a frantic, pawing frenzy when I was seventeen years old at a party out at Hauser Lake. I wanted that big, hard weapon of his deep inside me, spreading me open and pinning me down and making me scream until my voice broke.”
I enjoyed the build up in their relationship and all the tension that is growing the more they are around each other, but Picnic also pulls some man whore shit that made me wanted to punch him the throat you know like fuckin chicks right in front of London!
“Yeah, I'm a real piece of work- a single man fucking a willing partner in the privacy of my own home. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep, I'm so ashamed of my actions.”
“So far as I knew, Hallmark didn’t make a “Sorry I Interrupted Your Oral Sex” card.”
They end up getting together and then shit hits the fan Don't wanna give too much away but Jessica gets caught up in some cartel trouble and they use her to made London try and kill Picnic.
"The only thing worse than destroying the man you care about is destroying him after he makes heartbreakingly beautiful love to you. I was still going to do it, though. I didn’t have a choice."
Shit got dark then and I kinda don't know how I feel about it. Her trying to shoot him, Him choking her and holding a knife to her throat although in all fairness the bitch did try to kill him. It's a little hard to come back after that one. I didn't really care for London's character I feel like she should have I don't know maybe went all Tammy Wynette and stand by her man...
“Fuckin’ pussy thinks that maybe true love will conquer all, and then she’ll climb onto his bike and they’ll ride away into the sky on a rainbow while we all throw rose petals at them.”
I am with picnic on that one i wanted love to conquer all too..
There where some really funny parts again with Horse cause duh he Rocks:
"I'll make the call." "We'll dial for you, cause we're helpful that way," Horse said “People don't always give us full credit for our warm, fuzzy side, but it's definitely there. We just love to help."
"Fuckin' Mother Teresa of the MC world, Horse. Brings a tear to me eye.”
One thing that really pissed me off in this book was Bolt WTF he cheated on maggs after we watched her be faithful and damn good woman standing by her man while he is in prison for years and he is fuckin someone really??? such bull shit! for real Pissed me off bad!
My least favorite of the whole series. I would like to seen some of the other guys get their own book......

4.5 picnic stars!
I've been anxiously waiting for Picnic's book since I read about him in Reaper's Property.
I suspected there was more to his manwhoring ways that he let on, and I was right. He showed his soft side, as evidenced by his love for his two daughters and his loyalty to his dead wife in the last book and in this book. But I understood where she was coming from. She was essentially alone, isolated, and she doesn't really have any friends. And her life was just so wrapped around Jessica and her issues, she doesn't have a life of her own. All her decisions up to that point are for Jessica's benefit not hers.
So yeah, I understood why she unraveled like that. Plus, I felt she did redeem herself in the end, which was fantastic in itself because Picnic deserves to be happy.
Aside from that, I love the action and the suspense in this book. It was also great to see previous characters and meet new ones. And yes, folks I am salivating for Painter and Puck's respective books.
Final Thoughts
This was a solid read for me as a whole. It kept me engaged all the way through the end, and made me excited for the things to come. This is definitely one of the better MC series out there that has staying power. It was gritty enough without going over-the-top. This book for all its violence and the sex is ultimately about family. It was reflected in Picnic's memory of Heather, his daughters and with London's struggle for her family as well. Those parts were my favorites.
Do I recommend? Yes. Every MC romance reader should read this series!
I've been anxiously waiting for Picnic's book since I read about him in Reaper's Property.
I suspected there was more to his manwhoring ways that he let on, and I was right. He showed his soft side, as evidenced by his love for his two daughters and his loyalty to his dead wife in the last book and in this book. Enters London, a strong woman with a hard past of her own, with a heart of gold that takes care of her wild niece with everything she had. She’s the first woman who makes Picnic feels something. But she isn’t a dreamer. She knows that no matter what she may feel that ship has sailed for her. Until her niece gets herself in trouble (yet, again) and Picnic is the only choice left for London. So she asks him for help and well, that’s when everything start to change. But if you thing this will be a easy road full of lollipops… think again. This will be a bumpy ride, full of obstacles, tears and so, so many wonderful moments.
So sit down, get your tissues… and get ready for a hell of ride!

5 Unexpected Stars!

So I will start by saying that - not gonna lie - I was not really all that excited about this installment of the Reaper's Series. Picnic kinda pissed me off in the last book by 1) beating the ever living $H!T out of my Hunter and 2) banging every barely legal-less-than-half-his-age chick at the rodeo.
So needless to say, my expectations to love this were not that high above "fair to middling."
But then I read the prologue.
And I was like:
Now, I was still not Picnic's number one fan for a while - especially after
I was ready for London to say fuck you and head for her namesake then and there.
But then Picnic kind of, sort of, not really realized he fucked up for no reason and that and kind of, sort of, not really made amends.
And London and Picnic realized that you really can't lose that lovin' feelin'.
Needless to say, HOTNESS then ensued.
And then intrigue.
And drama.
And cameos.
And just plain awesomeness.
Overall, I just loved the story line. For once a book that began with a climax middle scene actually lived up to that moment.
I also really liked London. She was a hard working, tough, grown ass woman with a realistic outlook and a propensity for space cadet moments - which I totally dig as I amvery frequently somewhat apt to zone out moments myself... #spacecadetsunite
But perhaps my favorite element of the story?
I can't wait for the next one!

Well, this time around it was probably more tolerable than the first time around. But I'm still not really sold on London because what she did was supper dumb. If the character was younger than okay, maybe. But a grown-up woman and she does not realise that what she's doing cannot have possibly any good outcome? And honestly, I dislike Jessica. Is it bad that I sort of wish she'd died? Or stayed away at least.
Honestly? London was annoying. I loved Picnic/Hunter scenes... so awesome! :D

What a wild ride!!Guys if you haven't read it yet,leave whatever you are doing and read it now!!!!This book was amazing!!In this book you can find a lot of action,suspense,humor and hot romance!!!!So far I loved all the books but this is the best!!!At first I wasn't sure if I like it due to Picnic's age but he always intrigued me and I wanted to learn more about him!!OMG this man....This man...I'm in love!!!

London owns a cleaning business, and she works in one of Reaper's pawn shop.Also she look after her niece Jessica and she is really protective!When Jessica decide to go in a MC party which is in Reaper's Property, she will be in trouble so London must go and take her and this isn't easy.She has no other choice except to ask help from Picnic.The way they meet isn't the best!I could say it was funny.. They've found each other before and Reese had always made London uncomfortable.And London wants to leave but she is determined to find her niece.There is attraction between them but London tries to avoid Picnic.Picnic ask from her for his help to have sex with him but instead of it she decides to go and clean his house!!
How much can she resist him??
I liked their relationship!The romance developed slowly and this for me is perfect!The chemistry between them is hot and of the charts!London is good!Not the best heroine, she made some bad decisions but still I love her!!I loved Picnic's character so much, he surprised me in a good way!He is handsome,hot a little scary sometimes, funny and so nice!!

I devoured this book in a day and it's left me itching for more. Seriously, it was like crack, or what I would imagine crack to be like. Anyway bottom line - it kicked ass.
London Armstrong doesn't know much about the Reapers, other than the cleaning contracts she has with them, and that they are kind of scary. She is focused on building up her business and taking care of her young cousin, Jessica, who was born with some drug/alcohol related issues. Her life is pretty predictable, other than having to keep Jessica out of trouble, everything is simple. She has noticed Reese, finding him extremely attractive, but equally terrifying.
I don’t know what bothered me more, his inherent scariness or the fact that his scariness sort of secretly turned me on.
Reese “Picnic” Hayes is the president of the Reapers MC, and after losing his wife, he has vowed to never have an old lady again. He doesn't want to go down that road again, so he keeps things simple. Sex with no strings. But when he first notices London, he knows he is in trouble, she is the kind of woman you want to keep. He tries to keep his distance, but the two end up crossing paths regardless.
She was too nice, too clean, and way the fuck too grown up. Ms. Armstrong was a regular citizen walking the straight and narrow, and she had no place in my world. She’d run off screaming in the darkness if I cut loose with her
The progression of London and Picnic's relationship was perfect. Twist and turns along the way, kept me hooked to my kindle. The writing, banter, pace, sex, action, it was all great. I can't wait for more!

So Elle will be with Deke (I love him)? She was my favorite character in Reaper's Legacy, after Ruger.

As you can see below, when I read this I was so excited to have a story built around people who were older than 30.
"Did someone say Reaper's Stand... Did someone say Picnic's Story...and did someone say the love story is about GROWN ASS PEOPLE????"
Yes, I could not contain myself. Reading NA or contemporary romance is fine... but once in a while, it would be great to have characters older... Characters who have experienced life to the point where the "big picture" has come into focus more...where they have figured out what is really important and what is just bullshit.
London and Picnic are there. Both have had challenges with children, family, deep loss, and business. Both are human, want to connect and decide to act on it.
Now understand, this is an MC club.... so the hearts and flowers and tender words.... ah, not so much... But trust me... this is Damn Good.
And because I do not believe in reinventing the wheel... or trying to top perfection, I am going to direct you to my friend Lkay ❇✾The one-click buy button addict❇'s review of this book. She has said everything I would try to in my little way... but so much better...

Arrghhhh - I was really really reeeaaallllyyyy looking forward to Picnic's book.
I may be being overly harsh given how much I looked forward to this and how much it missed the mark for me, but since I skim read a lot, I cannot give it more then 1 star.
And I know that I am very much in the minority here, and indeed the vast majority of my GR friends loved it!
As I said, I skim read a lot of this and missed out large chunks really, so may have missed something brilliant, but I just got a bit bored.
Did not like the first chapter, since that meant I knew what was coming, and pulled back from them coming together as a couple, as I just could not see how it would work and as such felt very distanced from them as a couple (her being in a relationship and Picnic being with other women to start did not help here). Tbh, I just felt depressed reading on, and all their interactions, knowing what was coming -made it all seem false and meaningless. I like books to make me happy.
Felt disconnected from London as a character.
Picnic was not the Picnic we knew from other books.
Felt like something awful, that happened to Emmy, only happened for London to be able to redeem herself and save the day - did not at all like that being used as a way for Picnic to "forgive" London. I am not a fan of previous couples being messed with too much and in such an awful way.
I just cannot see, given the short time span, that Picnic could forgive London, or London could get over him having slept with a woman in the other room - even though they were not "together" there was an attraction, and that would just be off putting anyway. Felt more like it was just a lust driven HFN as opposed to a loving HEA.
And London turning into the Black Widow kicking ass and shooting up the place!!?
I am a bit disappointed! I loved Horse, and enjoyed Ruger, Emmy's book I had on my kindle to waiting for 2 months before I read it, and this I just did not enjoy. Will I read more by JW in the future? Yes, but not as an auto buy as soon as a book is released.

2.5 stars. One step forward, two dozen or so steps back.
Was I reading a different book from everyone else? I feel like one of the only people who doesn't have glowing things to say about Reaper's Stand. It's too bad, because my hopes were high, considering how much I liked the previous book.

This series has had kidnappings in every single book. There are other ways to write drama. There are other bad things that can happen to people living on the edge. If an author can't find a different way to emphasize conflict happening in an environment which is fueled by drama, something is wrong.
Sadly, the "leftover" manufactured drama failed to interest me. We're supposed to care about not only a side relative of the main character, but also a friend of the side relative of a character? Why weren't both of these teen girls merged into one solid character? Why did we need two teenagers for the main character to chase around after? I DIDN'T care. Yes, it's obvious that at least one of these girls will be back in her own book. I just think that this character could have been brought into the series in a different manner - not as some extra person who was not related in a major way to a main character. It gets boring enough when you have to read an entire book about someone being concerned about their own child (I love my kids...however, that's not why I read romance novels), but it's even worse when most of the plot is taken up by someone else's kids. Was I supposed to attach to these girls? I thought the first one was a brat and the other one had no real presence other than being introduced as a potential love interest.
London was yet another woman with poor judgement skills. *MILD spoilers ahead* Again, I get that the books want to portray how these men screw anything in a skirt. My problem is rarely with the men owning what they want to do. My problem is with these women who don't show themselves respect - especially when they're club outsiders and not a part of the lifestyle. I find it ironic that the one woman in all of the books who wasn't a whipped puppy was the one woman (Em) who knew the most about club life and what she might have to learn to accept. You would think that women who didn't grow up with the knowledge of club whores and old ladies would be FAR more leery of a man who was just screwing a chick in the other room while she listened. Most people would probably give it more than a week before they hopped into bed with the person who had no concern for their feelings (Picnic's screwing that girl was a damn setup on his end, after all).
Self respect, people. Get some. If a person deliberately screws another person with the intent for you to be bothered by it, that person might need to prove that they're done being a complete asshole first before you hook up with them. If the story had been spun solely as casual sex (which the main character lamely tried to pretend it was), then that would be fine. Okay, so you screw the hot guy who you don't have any intention of staying with. But London sort of ended up there by default, and talked herself into wanting casual sex. It wasn't actually ever casual sex in the "no strings attached" way - no matter how London tried to spin it in her head. She was not the brightest crayon in the box. Not by a long shot.
Oh, and a scene in order to bring people together? Lame.
I can't rate lower than 2 stars though because when Picnic and London actually connected, it was sweet.
The story wasn't as bad as my ranting would imply. In fact, Legacy was an entertaining read as a romance (when London wasn't chasing after her "kids"). I just can't sit here and rate a book well when plot devices are recycled for the umpteenth time, and the lead female is a complete idiot when it comes to looking out for herself.

It gets boring enough when you have to read an entire book about someone being concerned about their own child (I love my kids...however, that's not why I read romance novels), but it's even worse when most of the plot is taken up by someone else's kids. Was I supposed to attach to these girls? I thought the first one was a brat and the other one had no real presence other than being introduced as a potential love interest.
London was yet another woman with poor judgement skills. *MILD spoilers ahead* Again, I get that the books want to portray how these men screw anything in a skirt. My problem is rarely with the men owning what they want to do. My problem is with these women who don't show themselves respect - especially when they're club outsiders and not a part of the lifestyle. I find it ironic that the one woman in all of the books who wasn't a whipped puppy was the one woman (Em) who knew the most about club life and what she might have to learn to accept. You would think that women who didn't grow up with the knowledge of club whores and old ladies would be FAR more leery of a man who was just screwing a chick in the other room while she listened. Most people would probably give it more than a week before they hopped into bed with the person who had no concern for their feelings (Picnic's screwing that girl was a damn setup on his end, after all).
Self respect, people. Get some. If a person deliberately screws another person with the intent for you to be bothered by it, that person might need to prove that they're done being a complete asshole first before you hook up with them. If the story had been spun solely as casual sex (which the main character lamely tried to pretend it was), then that would be fine. Okay, so you screw the hot guy who you don't have any intention of staying with. But London sort of ended up there by default, and talked herself into wanting casual sex. It wasn't actually ever casual sex in the "no strings attached" way - no matter how London tried to spin it in her head. She was not the brightest crayon in the box. Not by a long shot.
Oh, and a scene in order to bring people together? Lame.
I can't rate lower than 2 stars though because when Picnic and London actually connected, it was sweet.
The story wasn't as bad as my ranting would imply. In fact, Legacy was an entertaining read as a romance (when London wasn't chasing after her "kids"). I just can't sit here and rate a book well when plot devices are recycled for the umpteenth time, and the lead female is a complete idiot when it comes to looking out for herself.
I'm sick of idiot characters.

AGAIN...What in the FUCK did I just read!?!
ABSOFUCKINLUTELY LOVED IT!
When I first(since then, it's been a many times of rereading) read Reaper's Property back in 2013, I saw this series AND this author going places. I have loved all characters and I have loved how Joanna can tell her stories. They're gritty, naughty, hilarious and they stick with you. A lot, and I mean a lot of MC's stories have been written. Some were so-so, some were a no-no and some(like this series) are a definite go-go...as in go-go get your ass a moving and one-click!
Picnic. Picnic. Picnic. Three things I knew about him...
1. He's the President of the Reaper's.
2. He does what he does to protect the ones he loves.
3. He fucks the youngins and I had no problem with that.
Of course as the story progresses we get to see that he's more than what I listed above. He's an asshole. He does and says asshole things that I laughed and fumed about. And I loved that about him. He means what he says, there's no bullshitting with him. As for his love interest London, I love her character as well. She's a strong heroine and she fits perfectly with Picnic. The attraction is unavoidable EVEN when Picnic does asshole moves.
Not gonna spoil anything but I will say this. The story line is violent. The sex is raw. The words are sweet. The characters are real. And Ms. Wylde continues to outdo herself. As I've said many a times, I'll be pimping this series and author for a long ass time.

After, finishing the previous book, I could not wait to read this one. Then I read the teasers for this book, and I about lost it because it was so good I couldn't wait a second longer. And when the book finally came out, I locked myself in room, turned off any distraction and dove right in. It was awesome!
London is a thirty eight year old woman and owner of 'London's Cleaning Service'. She knows who the Reaper's are because she happens to work for them. She has no idea what exactly it is they do, but she and her crew have done enough cleaning for them to know it isn't all wholesome. She isn't interested in finding out more about them, she just wants to do her job and earn enough money to take care of herself and her eighteen year old cousin Jessica. But being a 'mother' to Jessica has been tough, due to all the issues Jessica now has from her mother using drugs while pregnant. Because of this, London doesn't go out much. Everything changes for London when she finds out Jessica is hanging out at the Reaper's MC armory. She goes in search for her and ends up owing the President of the Reaper's MC

Since the death of his wife, he has no interest in dating or ever having an Old Lady again. He definitely prefers one night stands. Since hiring London, he has been attracted to her. But to not mess up their business relationship he has not pursued her. Now that she owes him, it becomes harder for him to stay away.

Events occur right and left causing them to inevitable be together. Soon, it becomes so much more and Picnic doesn't know if he can be a one woman man again. I loved both London and Picnic. London was a tough independent heroine. Although at first I didn't know what to think of her, by the end, I really liked her and thought she was perfect for Picnic. Picnic was über hot!! He scared the crap out of me at times but also made my heart melt with how tender and sweet he could be. Plus, I loved his dirty mouth.

This series is one of my absolute favourite. I think Joanna Wylde does an amazing job in showing how the MC life works. And this book was no exception. There is some crazy bloody scenes that occur, and I loved every raw moment of it. There was a perfect balance between the relationship story line and the MC story line. I loved both very much. The steam was through the roof, as you come to expect from a Joanna Wylde book. And all the MC drama was highly entertaining. I really loved it. And that teaser at the end was amazeballs. I cannot freaking wait to read the next book, as well as the first book of the Silver Valley Series.

3.95 my expectations were too high STARS
Finally. Picnic. It feels like we waited forever for this one to come out and I really liked it, but in all honesty I was expecting to love this book. But no such luck.
Reaper's Stand gets off on a really good start. The prologue is quite genius and by teasing with a 'little' drama from the future Ms. Wylde hooked me big time. There never was a chance for me not to finish this story. I just had to find out how they got there and what happens in the aftermath. Actually pretty good stuff.
But let's meet Picnic and London first, shall we?
London Armstrong has been working for the Reapers Motorcycle Club for a while (I think 6 months), cleaning their various businesses and while doing so she caught the eye of non other than the Reaper President. London is a strong woman, a tough substitute mother for her cousin's daughter Jessica and smart business owner.
For all intents and purposes she is a match made in heaven for Picnic, once he gets over his affection for those 'young girls' that is...well and someone gets rid of her Deputy Sheriff boyfriend.
Reese “Picnic” Hayes is a total douche. He really is a big asshole and I don't know, but for some reason I was a bit surprised by the level of his douchiness. I knew he was a tough guy, given the whole president of the MC and such, but somehow I had the whole papa bear thing going on in my head and it wasn't pretty. There was this one scene with him and one of the club girls on the couch and ....well if you read it you know what I mean and if you haven't...you'll see.
Anyway. I don't think there is much I need to tell you about him, his dead wife or his daughters, because if you made it this far, it stands to reason that you've read some of the other books in the series and you know all about that stuff.
The first real interaction London and Reese have is the first night Jessica attends a club party and London tries to get her out by asking for Pic's help. There is instant attraction between the two, but the whole scene is somewhat questionable. Long story short...he convinces/forces London to start cleaning his home in exchange for a little help in finding Jess. And we all know what his ulterior motives are, right? Well, can't blame the man.
I have to be honest, after the really good prologue the story didn’t click with me for the longest time. At all times the reasons for London and Reese to be a couple were ...and I'm using the word again because it fits...questionable at best. To say they went through ups and downs is the understatement of the year, and while I appreciate them working through the issues, the timing and fast movement was something else entirely. I believe all events occur over the space of one week...not much given everything.
The biggest issue for me was Jess, London's 'daughter'. I know all of her behaviour is reasonable because of her condition (illness), but I could have done without her. First and foremost because I don't like that a third person has so much power over the outcome of the main players relationship...in some regards the storie's dependence on Jess was not unlike reading a triangle.
But that's not to say that London and Reese weren't great together. They actually have some insane chemistry and if all the drama the outside world and especially Jess created were to be taken out of the equation I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more.
I really like how the story went after we reached the part of the events mentioned in the prologue - at about 60-65%. After that the pacing was insane, the drama superb and the crazy over the top. I loved it. ;D
All in all, an enjoyable story that didn't really live up to my expectations, but when do they ever? Can't wait to read the new series M. Wylde is cooking up for us.

The Reaper's Stand had been one of my most anticipated books of the year, I just knew the story about Picnic was going to be kickass, but Ms. Wylde made it even better creating an amazing heroine in London, making me enjoy this book to the max!
Reese "Picnic" Hayes is the president of the Reapers MC, his wife died a few years back and being that she was the love of his life, he had promised himself not to ever get another Old Lady, so he's been living a life dedicated to his club, his daughters and just sleeping around with a different women. From the moment he saw London o her knees, cleaning the floor of the clubhouse he knew he was in trouble, he even asked Bolt to fire her on the spot. London Armstrong is 38, hard worker and independent. She runs a very successful commercial cleaning service and The Reapers MC are her most important clients, since they have several businesses. She has been raising her cousin's daughter since the mother was a drug addict who kept using during the pregnancy affecting the child's health. Now years later, the girl has been struggling with the aftermath of her health issues and this has been hard on London but she loves the girl, Jessica, as if she was her own. Even though London is dating a cop and she enjoys his company, every time she's in the presence of Picnic her whole body turns on fire. London doesn't do casual sex and Picnic doesn't do serious so they are playing a cat and mouse game that turns out very sexy and intense in the end, when she brakes things off with her boyfriend (who turned out to be a total tool) and gives into the desires burning deep inside her. Sex between Picnic and London was very passionate but the bliss turns to angst as her cousin Jessica gets in trouble, again, and in order to save her, London is force to make really dangerous decisions that put in jeopardy her relationship with Picnic.
This book was truly a great read, it had action, angst, passion and even laughs, because London is really funny, I loved her just as much as I did Picnic. Her personality was so awesome, she was not afraid of anything, and always had a momma bear attitude towards people, she was the perfect woman for The Prez, after me, of course.
Great job on writing this series Joanna Wylde!!! I love that she cares enough to research and create characters that are edgy and desirable . I'm a huge fan of MC related books or any type of entertainment, really, and this series is one of my favorites ever. This book while a little different from the rest had her signature awesomeness that you always find in her books and the more she writes the better Ms. Wylde gets and I can't wait to read more….

Finished reading for a second time 10/2/15. Still can't believe some of the crazy/stupid decisions that London made...
I think the best books are the hardest to review...
Not sure I want to even attempt this, because I'm not sure I'll convey how much I enjoyed this one. *Sigh* I thought the previous book in the series, Devil's Game, was my favorite one, but goodness, I think this crazy book has it beat!
I never, never, imagined Reese "Picnic" Hayes this way... And may I say it was a smart idea by the author to limit the use of the name "Picnic"--that just doesn't fit this studly hero. The heroine, London, either referred to him as Reese, Pic, or in her thoughts, 'Hayes'. But I digress...
So, the plot: 43-year-old widower (of 6 years) Reese "Picnic" Hayes is president of the local chapter of the Reaper's Motorcycle Club. He's big, bad, and muscular and sex-on-a-stick. He's the father of two grown daughters, Em (Devil's Game) and Kit. Since the great love of his life (Heather) died, he's refused to get involved with a woman emotionally (that would just lead to pain) but physically, that's another story. Clearly, he's got some issues. The man is a total one-night-stand man-whore, especially with women young enough to be his daughter. When he sets eyes on the Reaper's new employee (cleaning lady) London, he wants her...yet he doesn't want her. She is totally different than the skanks he's been bedding. She's older (38), intelligent, responsible (she looks after her drug addicted cousin's difficult teenage daughter, Jessica), a hard worker and owns her own cleaning business. And she's a sexy knockout (not that she's trying to attract attention). If he was looking for another "old lady", London would certainly fill the bill. But he's not. And he's determined to stay away from her...Ha, as if.
His eyes were like cold chips of blue ice, and the hint of gray at his temples and in the scruff covering his chin gave him an air of authority that I wanted to obey almost instinctively. His arms were thick, banded with heavy muscles, and his thighs...I glanced away quickly, because those thick thighs of his framed the half-naked woman sucking his penis perfectly. Like I'd walked into a particularly high-definition porn shoot.
I wanted to die.
London is certainly aware of the scarily sexy biker, but that's just her hormones talking, right? She has no business being attracted to him. She has a boyfriend already (sort of) and so what if he doesn't set her body on fire from just a glance like Reese does. Plus she has too many responsibilities to get involved with a dangerous guy like Reese, and has an often difficult teenage girl (with medical issues) who she's raised as her own for the past six years to contend with. There's no time for her to get horizontal with any guy. But in her fantasies...yowza!
London, after her mini makeover...
I have a thing for muscular men, no question, and his body pushed every one of my buttons. Broad chest, thick arms and thighs...And his stomach? Holy cow, I just knew that under that tight black shirt would be the perfect six-pack. The man's body was ideal--not like a twenty-year-old's, though. No, he had the solidity that only comes with age and endurance and maturity.
Eh, enough of the plot, you'll have to read it. Needless to say, Picnic and London do get involved, and what a wild ride it is! It's hot, it's dangerous, it's crazy,...and did I say it's H..O..T..?! Oh god, I loved it! Couldn't put it down, had to read it in less than 24 hours.
Now, not to say it was perfect, or that Picnic was the perfect hero (I had some problems with some of his inner dialogue and what he thought about London, and women, a time or two). But god, the guy loved his daughters, and he loved London too. And for that matter, London was far from perfect. She did something (that I won't reveal because it is a major spoiler) that I thought was so dumb, that I couldn't blame Picnic the way he reacted. Now I realize this something stupid had to happen to drive the plot, and maybe . But who am I to say--it sure made for some exciting reading even if it was a dumb thing to do! But I did love these characters; I loved that they were mature (even though at times they thought and acted like teenagers!) and I couldn't believe that they had been 'together' for only a week. Really, a week? It seemed like they knew each other much longer.
I am so sad this series is coming to a temporary? end. Really, there's got to be stories for more of these guys--even Painter (and Mellie?) need a story down the road! But next up, a spin-off featuring a young stud (with the unfortunate name of Puck) from a nearby MC club--the Silver Bastards (Silver Bastard). Puck was introduced in this one, and even though he seems a bit young (barely 20), maybe he'll be older in his book. His story seems promising so I can't wait to read it.
If you haven't tried this series yet, I suggest you get on it! Joanna Wylde writes some of the most intriguingly badass, over-sexed, dirty-talkin'/dirty thinkin' heroes around, and when they fall for their 'old ladies', there's nothing they won't do to have them and keep them! The plots are fast paced, the sex is hot, there's plenty of dirty talk, and the inner dialogues of the characters are hot, and often funny! These books keep getting better and better! Good times.:) 5 big stars

Like I'd walked into a particularly high-definition porn shoot.
I wanted to die.
London is certainly aware of the scarily sexy biker, but that's just her hormones talking, right? She has no business being attracted to him. She has a boyfriend already (sort of) and so what if he doesn't set her body on fire from just a glance like Reese does. Plus she has too many responsibilities to get involved with a dangerous guy like Reese, and has an often difficult teenage girl (with medical issues) who she's raised as her own for the past six years to contend with. There's no time for her to get horizontal with any guy. But in her fantasies...yowza!
London, after her mini makeover...
I have a thing for muscular men, no question, and his body pushed every one of my buttons. Broad chest, thick arms and thighs...And his stomach? Holy cow, I just knew that under that tight black shirt would be the perfect six-pack. The man's body was ideal--not like a twenty-year-old's, though. No, he had the solidity that only comes with age and endurance and maturity.
Eh, enough of the plot, you'll have to read it. Needless to say, Picnic and London do get involved, and what a wild ride it is! It's hot, it's dangerous, it's crazy,...and did I say it's H..O..T..?! Oh god, I loved it! Couldn't put it down, had to read it in less than 24 hours.
Now, not to say it was perfect, or that Picnic was the perfect hero (I had some problems with some of his inner dialogue and what he thought about London, and women, a time or two). But god, the guy loved his daughters, and he loved London too. And for that matter, London was far from perfect. She did something (that I won't reveal because it is a major spoiler) that I thought was so dumb, that I couldn't blame Picnic the way he reacted. Now I realize this something stupid had to happen to drive the plot, and maybe . But who am I to say--it sure made for some exciting reading even if it was a dumb thing to do! But I did love these characters; I loved that they were mature (even though at times they thought and acted like teenagers!) and I couldn't believe that they had been 'together' for only a week. Really, a week? It seemed like they knew each other much longer.
I am so sad this series is coming to a temporary? end. Really, there's got to be stories for more of these guys--even Painter (and Mellie?) need a story down the road! But next up, a spin-off featuring a young stud (with the unfortunate name of Puck) from a nearby MC club--the Silver Bastards (Silver Bastard). Puck was introduced in this one, and even though he seems a bit young (barely 20), maybe he'll be older in his book. His story seems promising so I can't wait to read it.
If you haven't tried this series yet, I suggest you get on it! Joanna Wylde writes some of the most intriguingly badass, over-sexed, dirty-talkin'/dirty thinkin' heroes around, and when they fall for their 'old ladies', there's nothing they won't do to have them and keep them! The plots are fast paced, the sex is hot, there's plenty of dirty talk, and the inner dialogues of the characters are hot, and often funny! These books keep getting better and better! Good times.:) 5 big stars
*There is an awesome epilogue at the end that redeems Jessica in my eyes. Be sure to read it!

I have loved just about every book in this series, with the exception of "Devil's Game". What I did like about the last book, was the teaser to Picnic's book at the end. I never pictured Picnic being sexy as hell. I had thought he was an old man, but it turns out he's a couple of years younger than me!! This was a FANTASTIC story and I knew that Joanna Wylde had it in her to write such perfection. I'm still trying to decide between Picnic and Horse now. Would it be ok if I have them both??!! LOL
London Armstrong is a single woman, acting as a mom for her 19 year old cousin, Jessica, who has a knack for getting into trouble. She also owns a small commercial cleaning business. One of her best clients is the Reaper's MC. Picnic has had his eye on London for months but has never made a move because he's not the type to want to settle down with one woman and London is definitely not like the biker sluts he usually takes home for a quick bang.
London finds out Jessica is hanging out with a bunch of Reapers at their club and being the protective mother figure that she is, she goes to Picnic to ask for his help in retrieving her. It is at this part of the story that I'm appalled and yet at the same time, turned on by this man! OMG!! I don't know if I would have handled things the way that London did. I may have ran the hell out of there. That was just an awkward situation! So Picnic, being the gentleman that he is, asks London what she's going to do for him if he helps get her cousin out of the club. Well let's just say he asked her for some sexual favors but got a free house cleaning service instead.
I think this book had more action than all the others. Sometimes it was extremely violent, reminding me of the current season of SOA. Picnic can be just as brutal as Jax!! He definitely did some things that I was not happy about. I understood why, but still, I didn't think he had to take it to the level that he did.
The sexy times between London and Pic definitely were off the charts HOT!!! Whenever I read these MC books, I find myself doing double takes when I see a man on a Harley. I wonder if it would be thrilling to be with a rough around the edges guy who gets down and dirty!
London ends up getting into some serious trouble and again it's because of Jessica. I can see why she took the path that she did, I only wished Pic had handled things differently. This part of the story had me on the edge of my seat. It was action packed and some pretty dark stuff ends up happening. I can see this playing out on the big screen.
I loved how everything came together in the end. I feel so bad for betraying Horse but after that ending, I've developed a SERIOUS CRUSH on Picnic. The man knows how to love a woman and DEAR LORD, does he know how to please her too!! But I've got plenty of love in my heart to give, so I think it's okay if Horse and Pic share me!!! LOL
Can't wait for the next book and am hoping Painter's story will soon follow after it.

...because there's not a woman on earth who doesn't secretly want to ride off into the sunset with a bad man on a bike...especially after having excellent sex with that man.
Picnic's book....FINALLY!! I've been waiting for him since the first book, and man oh man...this man DID NOT disappoint!! He is hands down, the star of this book.
As far as London goes...well, she can be broken out into two parts.
BDD = Before Dumbass Decision
ADD = After Dumbass Decision
BDD London was quite endearing. Stuck in a life she did not want, she was making the best of it. She was taking care of her trainwreck cousin's daughter, Jessica. Jessica is suffering from tons of effects of fetal alcohol syndrome, because her mom is an idiot and did who knows what while pregnant with her. London has been taking care of her since birth and is now dealing with an 18 year old with emotional issues, poor decision making skills and hardcore mood swings. To say Jessica is difficult is a complete understatement.
Jessica finds her way to a Reaper's party and London goes in to rescue her. Even though London's cleaning service has been working for the Reapers for months, she's stayed clear of our beloved President Picnic because of various reasons....but mostly because he makes her tingle even though she's terrified of him.
Picnic helps her out, but not without conditions. He wants her to come and clean his place. She reluctantly agrees. With this new agreement, it puts her up close and personal with our darling Reese "Picnic" Hayes....a fact that both enthralls and scares her. The two play some hilarious cat and mouse that really makes the sexual tension sizzle. BDD London is still conflicted, but through her (at that time) hilarious inner dialogue, she decides that she's a woman with needs and decides to go for it with Picnic....she'll deal with the consequences later.
I didn't need a man, but if I wanted one I'd take him and use him and then pass him along without a second thought, because I'd become a sophisticated, modern woman if it killed me.
Sure.
And I would lose ten pounds and age backward, too. Right after I learned to fly my invisible jet.
Picnic is really drawn to London. He hasn't had anything serious since his wife, Heather died. I have to stop and say, I'm not 100% sure how I feel about his internal dialogue with his dead wife. I'm typically not a big fan of conversations with people from beyond, but it kind of did and didn't work for me here. Sorry, moving on....Picnic really wants to try and start something serious with London. She's not just another piece of club ass, she's real and warm and funny and cooks-you-dinner stability that Picnic hasn't had in a really long time. And he wants that.
"Slept around a lot, but none of them ever felt real to me. There's something about you, London, something that's REAL in a way I can't even begin to explain. I like it and I want it....So far as I figure, that makes you mine."
London is fiercely independent, used to depending on herself and no one else. Picnic wants to take care of his woman, help her out. He sees how much burden she carries, and he wants to help her carry the load. This conflict opened the door for some great bickering and banter between the two.
"It's a guy thing. We like taking care of our women. You don't let me help you, the other boys'll make fun of me and then I'll have to cry. Are you trying to make me cry, London?"
In the midst of starting something up with Picnic, Jessica's poor decision making skills throw a wrench into things and shit hits the fan.
Enter ADD London.
London gets put in a very difficult situation due to Jessica's actions and decisions. She's deeply conflicted, unbelievably scared but resolved to do whatever it takes to help Jesssica. Unfortunately, she turns into a dumbass and makes a dumbass decision.
And that's where she lost me. There was no way for her to rationalize for me why she ended up doing what she did. Her inner dialogue was nothing more than her trying to rationalize being an idiot. It didn't make sense and her excuses were asinine.
She does end up stepping up and redeeming herself by the end, even if I do think it's a little far fetched. So I guess for me, she only "kind of" redeemed herself.
I'm finding, with the exception of Emmy, I have a hard time with the heroines in this series.
Overall, a book that I thoroughly enjoyed...even if ADD London did make me growl in frustration....Picnic more than made up for that. To see all the different sides of him....MC Club President, loving father, devoted brother, fierce protector, insatiable lover...just made me love him even more. Hands down my favorite Reaper!
This book sets up the Silver Bastards spin off very nicely, but even better, it really got me excited for Painter's book (as if I wasn't already). I was curious who his leading lady would be, and I'm both wary and happy with the introduction of Mellie. She has some serious potential for greatness with Painter.

London has a little cleaning service, her pride and joy, the Reaper's use her service for the strip club and that was as close as she's ever wanted to get to them... but six months down the road she has to ask the man himself to help her get her niece out of his club. Jessie, is London's fucked up sister's daughter, she took her in and has been raising her ever since her sister bailed.
Picnic has been bidding his time, he knew from the minute he'd seen her that she would be the end of him, but London sealed her fate the minute she stepped foot in his clubhouse and he isn't one to shy away from using any angle to get what he wants...her in his home, cleaning, cooking and of course fucking him happy. But he never figured London to be full of sass and ass, she isn't scared of him and isn't afraid to put him in his place. He'd be smart to show her what being with a real man is like, he's nothing like the pussy whipped "boyfriend" she has...
London has been living her life with focusing on the happiness of others, primarily Jessie, so when Jessie decides she doesn't need her Auntie London anymore, she turns to the one man whose proven to have her back and give her the comfort she needs.
The fun has only just begun, getting a crash course on being a biker babe to the President of the motorcycle club, keeping her business afloat and keeping the cartel at bay, they got their hands fuller than they wish. But it's all worth it when you have a good man and a better woman to come home too...
Reaper's Stand is Picnic's story, his second chance at love, and there is no better woman for him than London. She loved fiercely, didn't take his shit, but gave him a whole lotta sweetness too. Picnic showed her what it's like to have a family at your back, someone who you can turn to and carry the weight of the world. This was almost a perfect read for me if it hadn't been that one point where she acted out of character and was too afraid to tell him what's going on. But I have to give it to her, she owned up to her mistake and took her punishment like a real woman should...still it could have ALL been prevented. This had it all sass, drama, sadness and loss, smexy times and love. An awesome addition to the Reaper's MC series! I can't wait to see what's next in the world of the Reapers & the Jacks!

This was another book that had high expectations from me. Was dying for Picnic and London's story.
I was hoping Picnic would save me from a startling phenomenon.......badass' handing in their alpha card ( looking at you Deacon). Don't know what's happening to our authors out there, but Kristen Ashley's revelation this week that an alpha guy getting a manicure was "hot", sent me into a tailspin. Ugh nooooo KA it's not.
So oh yes back to Picnic. So he opens with " I wouldn't mind fucking your tits...that would motivate me to help". Oh yes thank you Mr. Hayes!

How in this day and age of modern OB/Gyn technology this happened that she's 14 weeks and her doctor never did ultrasound to check fetal placement, I will never know!? Malpractice!? Find a lawyer!
Ok so I couldn't put the book down. I hated and loved this story at the same time but...
Excuse me, Ms. Wylde, is it? I have a bone to pick with you. I'll talk temporarily in biker bitch speak so you understand...Listen bitch...43 is not old! Neither is 38, the age of our TSTL h in this book. I'm 45 and if I hear you call me old again I will have to cut you , bitch.....right off my automatic buy list!
Another thing, do your medical research before you write a book. I'm a nurse and a lot of people who are in my profession are reading your book , and we are laughing at your inaccurate medical info. Now , I know I'm old by your standards (Bitch you are in your early thirties not far behind me) but when I had my first kid 14 years ago, ultrasound to establish fetal placement had been the standard of care at least a decade prior! I worked in OB I know this! So there's no way Em went 14 weeks with an undetected ectopic! Ok bitch speak over.
