Coming soon from bestselling author Angela Kulig, a new adult romance about crazy people… who are maybe in love.
Forced out of college Freshman year and into a dead end job, Kaylee doesn't become angry and bitter; instead she does her best to not even exist.
Here's a quick list of what Kaylee Hall expects from life:
1. Nothing 2. Nothing else
She doesn't date. She doesn't make friends. She doesn't feel anything.
So when the guy who ruined Kaylee's life in every way shows up and tries to casually rewrite her life story, she consults her list and doesn't know what to think.
Jack Claret has been called many things.
1. Hot 2. Really Hot 3. Prude 4. Slut 5. International Bestselling Author 6. Ruiner of virgin fangirls everywhere and 7. Totally insane.
One thing Jack hasn't been called, is punctual. So when he shows up to win Kaylee back, he finds it's roughly a year too late. Relying on his powers of make-believe, and superior command of the English language, Jack seeks to undo the damage between them—even as Kaylee's whole world falls apart.
I really started to think that I may not have wanted to finish this story. It started out very quirky and outlandish, the characters stilted and very hard to understand their emotional attachment. However, I did continue, and yes, overtime, as the backstory was revealed, I gained an insight into those original stilted conversations. Yes, in the end I did enjoy the story, but there was still just something not right, thus the 4 stars.
I read this story as part as the "Bad Boy Billionaire Boxset".
I liked the basic story and the writing was unique and very easy to read. It just didn't make sense to me and had me thinking what else? Am I missing something?
You know, I did really like this book, and I would like to see more of Kaylee Hall and where she ends up. I wasn't too thrilled with the beginning I'll admit. I was tempted to just put it down because the character seemed all over the place at first. I'm glad I stuck with it as it got sooo much better.
Normally I am not fond of books done in first person (personally I like to know what everyone is thinking), but that didn't bother me with this book. I liked seeing things from Kaylee's point of view, and her reactions to things. And the characters were actually fleshed out; I felt like they were real people, with human emotions and thoughts and proper/improper reactions to things. I have been reading too many YA novels of late where everything is...meh and bland and ugh, and this book had something, something that actually made me read over again just before completing this review.
I do wish there was more backstory to Jack, more explanation there, and I wish that things didn't fall quite so easily into place for her. But those are trivial things, for me personally it did not detract from the story.
I really enjoyed this story, and am looking forward to others by this author, hopefully others that continue Kaylee's story line. :)
**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.**
This book was...indescribable! It's unlike anything I've read before and I absolutely loved it! From the first page, even the first line or maybe it was the title...I was intrigued! This author, Angela Kulig, pulled off a story that makes it feel like the character is talking to you and herself. I was laughing and had so many more emotions. Sometimes I felt like I was Kaylee, because it was crazy captivating! Kaylee and Jack are...well, you just have to read it to understand!
To be honest I was totally confused when I read the title of this. I thought the book was about someone who had that much time to live. In a way, it technically is, but also it's about about something that originally brought two people close together. Everything that happened in this book was terrible, but honestly in the end all the bad actually turned out to be something extraordinary.
