1. Guardians: The Girl by Lola St. Vil *1 Star
Ok Emmy was ridiculously annoying. Marcus was way too worried about his love life when he is on an end of the world mission. Mimi is made out to be this cold person who's only concern is the mission, but if that were the case she wouldn't be all crazy jealous all the time. Miku was ok, Jay and Reese were ok but they're slang talk was way over the top. Rio was actually pretty awesome and the book should have revolved around him. But it didn't and I just wasn't a fan of this one.

2. Whispers in Autumn by Trisha Leigh **2 Stars
I was pretty into this until the last five chapters or so. Althea and Lucas are different from the rest of the human population, they have feelings...which is forbidden by the Others, the alien race in charge of earth at the moment. They also discover they have some cool but frightening powers, which may be the reason the Others seem to have taken a direct interest in them. But the ending just completely disappointed.

3. Brightest Kind of Darkness by P.T. Michelle ****4 Stars
This had a bit of final destination mixed in a ya romance. There were a few things that were just silly but overall the story was good and the characters were likeable.

4. Lark by Erica Cope ***3 Stars
I really enjoyed reading this book. Mia was a fun character and I enjoyed her inner monologues and I thought the story overall was pretty good. I don't like that she randomly did some very stupid things that were so obviously going to go horribly wrong, but I suppose they did move the story along.

5. Feyland: The Dark Realm by Anthea Sharp *DNF Star
I read the prequel to this book and was not impressed and this gave me the same feeling. I just didn't like the writing style, I didn't love the story, I didn't like that the boy she finds to help her is named Tam Lin (idk why, I just found it obnoxious for some reason), I especially didn't like that anytime Marny was mentioned she was described as fat or the big girl...as if that was the sole thing that defined her. I decided to quit about 10 chapters in...just not for me.

6. Witches Finish First by Terah Edun *1 DNF Star
I got 2 chapters into this...the story itself seemed kind of interesting but there were so many typos I couldn't really be sure. But the worst was the first scene with our main character Katherine...some guy she supposedly is in love with puts his arms around her while she's drunk...then in her head she gives us a history of witches, Fae and humans. Ok that's a little odd but fine...except for the fact that she makes comments about some of her thoughts, seemingly out loud while having this "romantic embrace" It just bothered me to the point that I decided to stop reading.

7. Pentimento by Cameron Jace ***3 Stars
I actually really liked this. The Pentimento thing was a bit too abstract for me but I liked the concept, and I liked the characters.

8. Beautiful Demons by Sara Cannon ****4 Stars
Harper is an orphan with strange powers that have forced her from many foster homes. She ends up at Shadowford in the town of Peachville, and it's not long before she notices some strange things. The town seems to be run by some strong women who also seem to be like Harper. When Harper becomes one of the popular crowd she enjoys it but things also seems off to her...if only she could remember.

*This box set was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. I am reviewing Sarra Cannon's Beautiful Demons which is only one book in the anthology. Although if the editor included the multi~genre talented author in the anthology the rest must be equally as talented.

I have been a fan of Sarra for a long time and followed her life via her book releases, her fan page and her blog. Stalker much. No I am a fangirl. I often refer to her as my indie clone of Richelle Mead. She can dance eloquently through the genres by writing paranormal, young adult and new adult contemporary.

Her world in the book Beautiful Demon is magic within the tragic walls of the invisible clear box Harper is trapped within. And that's my metephor. She's at a girls home because she has this thing about her that draws a trouble. So she needs to go away. There's a boy. Mysterious yes, cool yes and she wants to be his. So ultimately you want to be his. Sarra's writing envokes that feeling. So that in itself is pure magic.

I am babbling. Gushing. But there is a reason. It's not a piece of paper with words, a book with pages, a novel or a movie. You're walking through it and living it just by how Sarra writes. I adore this book and I adore this series.

It pulls you to the end at the fastest pace you can go and only let's you stop to sit up, gasp and start reading again.

I don't just tip my Nerd Girl hat to you, I take it off and bow. 5 stars ♡ Gladys #XOXOtheNerdGirl

OVERALL:

P.T. MICHELLE - BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS

TRISHA LEIGH - WHISPERS IN AUTUMN

ANTHEA SHARP – FEYLAND: THE DARK REALM - 3 stars
When lines are blurred between reality and gaming, Tam Linn discovers that a game can turn into a different realm making him the hero of the show. As his world is turned upside down (for the better) Tam is tasked with helping the rich-girl Jennet pushing their limited in the Dark Realm of the Fairyland.

The world building the author is able to create was fun and inventive with the characters flowing in and adding to the concept. I thought the rich girl, poor boy kind of thing was a little overdone with the characters styles but overall I found them to be well developed.

LOLA ST. VIL - GUARDIANS: THE GIRL

TERAH EDUN - WITCHES FINISH FIRST

ERICA COPE - LARK

CAMERON JACE - PENTIMENTO - 4 stars
This was such a fast read I wanted more at the end and couldn't believe I was already finished. I hope Cameron jade continues on with the story, it really felt like it was just beginning.

GUARDIANS: THE GIRL - I actually don't like this bible related stories. Some parts were quite good but mostly boring and too lengthy.. I really didn't enjoy the "big luv" at age of 15 and it literally pissed me of that its just first part od bigger agenda... so it ends with teaser.

A mixed up feelings. I love the fact that it brought me to fantastic writers like P.T. Michelle that I hadn't read before. Some of the stories were long and not enticing enough to get the next one. It is worth the price and it is great to know other authors.
