Gorges de l'Areuse

The Val de Travers is a Jura mountain valley perpendicular to the main valleys (hence the name). The river Areuse has cut itself steeply through the soft limestone and clay sediments. Following the river makes for a very scenic walk. Val de Travers, April 2008 #33 on Explore on May 7, 2008
