Pace Women’s Basketball Announces 2014-15 Schedule

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The upcoming 2014-15 season schedule has been announced for the Pace Women's Basketball Team. The schedule consists of 28 total contests, 20 of which come against Northeast-10 Conference opponents. The schedule includes eight games against six teams that qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division II Tournament.

The season kicks off with a pair of non-conference road tilts in the Adelphi Tournament as the Setters take on NYIT on November 14 at 7:30 pm and LIU Post on November 15 at 3:30 pm. Next the home opener and the conference schedule kicks off as Pace takes on Saint Rose in the Goldstein Fitness Center on November 19 at 5:30 pm before hitting the road against New Haven on November 22 at 1:30 pm and Southern Connecticut State on November 25 at 5:30 pm. The month closes out back at home with a conference matchup against Queens on November 30 at 1:30 pm.

The Setters begin December with a road contest against Adelphi on December 3 at 5:30 pm before closing out the month with four straight home tilts. First a pair of NE-10 conference opponents with Le Moyne on December 6 at 1:30 pm and American International on December 13 at 1:30 pm followed by a pair of non-conference opponents with Caldwell on December 14 at 1:30 pm and Felician on December 20 at 1:30 pm.

The New Year begins with a pair of non-conference matchups. First, Dominican at home on January 2 at 2 pm followed by a road contest with Saint Thomas Aquinas on January 4 at 1:00 pm. January ends with eight straight Northeast-10 Conference matchups. First they take on Merrimack on the road on January 7 at 5:30 before returning home to play host to both Stonehill on January 10 at 1:30 pm and Southern New Hampshire on January 13 at 5:30 pm. Next the Setters hit the road to take on Saint Anselm on January 17 at 1:30 pm and Franklin Pierce on January 21 at 5:30 pm. The Setters return home for matchups with Saint Michael's on January 24 at 1:30 and Assumption on January 27 at 5:30 pm before closing out the month on the road against Bentley on January 31 at 1:30 pm.

Pace fires up the February slate of games with a non-conference matchup at home against Georgian Court on February 4 at 7:00 pm before going back on the road with a pair of NE-10 road contests. The Setters square off against American International on February 7 at 1:30 pm and then Saint Rose on February 11 at 5:30 pm before returning home for three straight contests at the Goldstein Fitness Center. First, the Setters take on New Haven on February 14 at 1:30 before hosting Southern Connecticut State on February 18 at 5:30 pm and Adelphi on February 21 at 1:30 pm. Pace finishes up the schedule with an NE-10 road contest against Le Moyne on February 24 at 5:30.

In her 23rd season as the Setters Head Coach, Carrie Seymour returns several players including seniors Margo Hackett and Shanice Maynard. Hackett was the leading scorer last season for the Setters, averaging 10.4 points per game to go along with 2.8 rebounds and a team-high 2.5 assists per game. Hackett also scored in double figures 12 times last year and led the team from the charity stripe, hitting 77% of attempts. Maynard was 2nd on the team with 9.7 points per game, with 5.8 rebounds per game and a team-high 27 blocks. Also returning is junior Yuni Sher who led the squad with 7.4 rebounds per game. She also averaged 8.1 points per game as she scored in double figures 10 times on the season.
